@alfulani5 well, I heard they were not Buddhists. I will not tell you what religion it is but I have to say the murders were not done by Buddhist hands
@alfulani5 you are so persistent about making Buddhists, criminals. If you are so intolerant about us then what religion are you? You talk highly about the past. But you have missed out one point. If you say the ugly scars of the past and blame it on the future, you are an highly intolerant person, no difference from any dictators or terrorists. and that gives the religion you serve under, a bad name. If you are a Buddhist yourself, then you have betrayed Buddhism.
@alfulani5 I have always been inspired by the spirit of practice around me- if you don't see it, you aren't looking in the right places. Sometimes we get in our own ways. Investigate your own mind to understand why you choose not to see the enormous explosion of positive energy that is Buddhism
The Buddha was actually told followers not to take his word for anything, but for discover for themselves whether his truth was also theirs. He discouraged blind obedience. It's too bad all religions can't say the same.
Some people spend inordinate amounts of time and energy upset, angry, or frustrated by other people’s thoughts and behaviors.
But to what end? Why should we, by default, believe we can change another person’s — an independent, thinking self just like us — behaviors and thoughts with just a few choice words? In the end we must remember that one of life’s hardest lessons to learn is that you can only change yourself.
thank you so much for the upload. But i dont understand why there are ppl talking bad things here and yelling about religions..look at the english subtitles they are so peaceful and wishing every living thing on this universe to be free from our daily metal and physical suffering. What is more We, The Buddhism never said bad things about other religions so do as our Buddha himself and 17 ppl got it so wrong for disliking this video or may be they dont understand the english at all.

Eleven benefits to practicing Metta (loving kindness meditation: 1 You will sleep easily 2 You will wake easily 3 You will have pleasant dreams 4 People will love you 5 Devas (gods or angels) and animals will love you 6 Devas will protect you 7 External dangers, such as poisons, weapons, and fire, will not harm you 8 Your face will be radiant 9 Your mind will be serene 10 You will die unconfused 11 You will be re-born in happy realms
I dont know if this counts as Metta practice but I recently started reciting and practicing the 8 verses of mind transformation. I've been having pleasant dreams and sleeping peacefully too n_n
@Chichiri520 Any good thought would generate positive energy. This positive energy will make us feel happy & sleep well. This what Buddha meant by good kamma. Kamma is simply positive & negative energy

hmmmmm also saying pictures and images are irrelevant making your faith and religion irrelevant as well
all we have to worship in every religion is images, idols, pictures, song that is all.
@TheMuffinator100 , What Buddha himself preached to all non- believers & believers alike, in his Karlama Suttra, was "Remarkable". He said ( Do not believe just because your parents, your loved ones, your king, your fellow scholars, your teacher (that is Buddha himself )etc. told you to do so. Only when, the practice of Dhamma, tested for one's peaceful existence as a human being with oneself and the rest, one must believe). He wants all to be totally independent .There's no Doctrine in Buddhism
Religions that demonize others just for not believing in their certain creeds are the ones to be wary of. Religions which encourage learning about others and embracing them as well, are the ones we should learn from ^_^
"you are no more than another angry Jewish descendent..full of hatred and anger..you are not worth a human or get close to God...poor guy !!! Plz no more reveal your stupidity here...SAD for your parents and the soil where you stand right now!!!"
quotation from "johnmarcuslee"
You puny little riceball, with your feminine hairless legs, you are the Model for "Haters of Those Who Hate."
Oxford University Has Published A Book "THE MAKERS OF THE UNIVERSE", In Which They Have Enlisted 100 People Who Gave Remarkable Contribution To The World Over The Period Of 10,000 Years, Which Is Admired By The Entire UNIVERSE. In this List 1st Name Is "GAUTAM BUDDHA" & 4th Is "Dr. BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR" For Their Principle Of SAMATA Which Is The Universal Solution For todays Burning World....
Thank you, thanks very much indeed. I heard this song somewhere several time but has never known the name. I;ve tried to find CD but unable to. Now I can add to my favorite and listen to it often. Appreciate your posting and the English substitute. Now I know what it is about. Sadhu..
Sadhu,Sadhu,Sadhu.Imee Ooi devine voice! Every time my family watch loving kindness- metta song felt happyness.we wish long live imee ooi.Buddha great & greatest, Dhamma great & greatest Sangha great & greatest.
Sometimes a new concept has to be watered down a bit until people unfamiliar with it develope a taste for it. Easing someone into a new state of mind is more effective than hitting them over the head. Rock and Roll music probably wouldn't have taken such a hold on American culture if it hadn't been first presented in a diluted form. It wasn't until after hearing Pat Boone that most Americans were ready to listen to Little Richard. Introducing new spiritual ideas is an even tricker proposition.
@satanisback .... Idolaters are those who worship idols(Blind Faith). We Buddhists give our respect to "Buddha" not as Supernatural God, but as our TEACHER who showed us how to live & die mindfully, free from greed, anger & ego. There's nothing "Supernatural " about Buddha & His teachings as He lived / died (as a human being ) always very close to the Mother Nature. Even His teachings are NOT Doctrine but of Self-Awareness. We learn to understand our (devious) mind and try to decipline it.
@shweminthamee Nah, I love the buddhist teachings, but this is has nothing to do with meditation or original buddhist chants. This is made for pop culture and is too superficial to my taste. And what's TRUTH about this?
@TheApatheticGuy i hope you understand paganism and not used it in the sense of it being wrong, because,,, in that case you all need to learn "religion" and truth, this is a beautifull song very much beautifull
I expressed no opinion on any variation of Paganism. Refer back to the post that I responded to if you're looking for clarification as to what I even meant in the first place.
@TheApatheticGuy than great :), i do not think i will spend time searching to clarify it as i trust you on your honest word and did not mean to come over as an aggresor, just many people missunderstand the roots of my and there own ancestors wich i think is a shame for the loss but all is in the gene's ^^
Have a very goodday to you, much respect and blessed be also ^^
@TheApatheticGuy This is an act of pride and not of love. Love is silent, humble, forgiving and nonconfrontational. Therefore, you are just as unskillful as those who would call Buddhists "pagans." Through your unskillful action, you have brought shame upon yourself and the Sangha, the Buddha and the Dharma.
May you be able to live a peaceful life with open mind and loving kindness to all living being. There has been no such thing as"Religious War such as Crusade" in History of Buddhism. No one died because of Buddha's Preaching.
@jonathan21557 What Aterkomsten said was hateful, I do not agree with what he has said. Seems like what he have said spawns from his own suffering he may be feeling inside. May you be free from suffering, and be happy.
@jonathan21557 How wrong can you be? Idolaters are those who worship idols(Blind Faith). We Buddhists give our respect to "Buddha" not as Supernatural God, but as our TEACHER who showed us how to live & die mindfully, free from greed, anger & ego. There's nothing "Supernatural " about Buddha & his teachings as he lived / died (as a human being ) close to the Mother Nature. Even his teachings are NOT doctrine but of Self-Awareness. We learn to understand our (cunning) mind and decipline it.
@jonathan21557 It may seem that way to someone who hasn't really experianced Bhuddism. I too have wondered that at times. But it's really no different than saying thanks to Jesus for the love and kindness he has taught you. the Buddha is simply our teacher. Nothing more, nothing less. Jesus wants you to love everyone, no matter their diffrences. So make him proud and love everyone, no matter how strange it may seem to you.
@jonathan21557 Paganism and Buddhism are extremely different. I'd be happy to tell you the differences and similarities.
Both Paganism and Buddhism venerate the earth as sacred.
However Pagans worship may worship many gods. We as Buddhists do not recognize a diety, however we do pay homage to the Buddhas, who are exalted from all worlds. We mainly focus on Gautama Buddha, since he was the one to establish our religion.
@Loveminter It is Sanskrit, old language from India.Click on the second from above "suggestion"on this page. The same chanting by Imee Ooi with English Lyric sub and translation. If you like to know more about "Metta"search Metta Meditation.
Love, peace in your mind, and believe in yourself, that everything is possible if you learn to keep mind in calm, and hear your heart. Always smile ")
I am an Arabian Buddhist embracing Buddhism is the best thing that happened in my life my views in life and in human lives have changed dramatically to something so high that I cant even explain..to the point that leave me speechless. The awakened Lord truly took away all the dust in my eyes, now I know the true worship is to say thank you to the one who showed you the path to eternal happiness now & forever I believe..
Sadu , Sadu, Sadu.... converts are most of the time the STRONGESTS, because they have studied closely and chose the path voluntarily , rather than inherite from their parents or spouse.
@NotYetGoing , Sadu, Sadu, Sadu, What Buddha himself preached to all non- believers and believers alike, in his Karlama Suttra, was "Remarkable". He said ( Do not believe just because.. your parents, your loved ones, your king, your fellow scholars, your teacher (that is Buddha himself ) etc. told you to do so. Only when, the practice of Dhamma works for one's peaceful existence as a human being with oneself and the rest, one must believe) He wants you to be totally independent .
@NotYetGoing Excellent that you embraced buddhism, encourage your family and friends to embrace buddhism and spread the message of the buddha around you.
I am also a Christian student of East Asian History religious studies, comparative religious studies from all over the world with a minor in Philosophy. I was lost until I found my major then I felt I had come home it made sense. The way they use the whole system of body and mind and soul together. This is one of my favorite of Imee Ooi singing. I am doing time travel mentally praying and thinking to myself as a child all the beautiful music I learn as an adult to my child me.
I feel peaceful whenever this song plays. :) Because it always reminds me not to hate or feel anger. “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” - Buddha
This metta Sutra reminds me of my mother. When I was a teenager, she taught me about " the Divine abode ,"Brahma Vihara.
She explained to me about. Metta (loving Kindness),Karuna(compassion),Mudita (Sympathetic joy) and Upekka ( equanimity) .I am what I am because of her.I am so grateful to her.I miss her .
@DiazRemington All religions are blind people grabbing different parts of the same object, coming up with different explanations. it's just that some got out of their original spiritual sense, like christianity and islam
Don't be confused. Buddhism tolerate all religion. Many southeast Asian countries incorporate Animism/Shamanism with Buddhism.... I am an animist and although you won't see any buddhist elements, there is a branch in my culture, known as shamanic buddhist........ hard to explain. Buddhism is not a religion, but a teaching instead, because there is no god.... and with that, it was able to co-exist well with other beliefs.
Thanks! I listening to this when I get suffer a lot.....

CORNY
satanisback 1 year ago
@satanisback .... Idolaters are those who worship idols(Blind Faith). We Buddhists give our respect to "Buddha" not as Supernatural God, but as our TEACHER who showed us how to live & die mindfully, free from greed, anger & ego. There's nothing "Supernatural " about Buddha & His teachings as He lived / died (as a human being ) always very close to the Mother Nature. Even His teachings are NOT Doctrine but of Self-Awareness. We learn to understand our (devious) mind and try to decipline it.

May you be happy anyway !
shweminthamee 1 year ago 2
@shweminthamee Nah, I love the buddhist teachings, but this is has nothing to do with meditation or original buddhist chants. This is made for pop culture and is too superficial to my taste. And what's TRUTH about this?
satanisback 1 year ago
@satanisback I have to agree, the music it has been set to seems corny, but the actual chant is not.

@TheApatheticGuy i hope you understand paganism and not used it in the sense of it being wrong, because,,, in that case you all need to learn "religion" and truth, this is a beautifull song very much beautifull
Metalmoshking666 10 months ago
@Metalmoshking666
I expressed no opinion on any variation of Paganism. Refer back to the post that I responded to if you're looking for clarification as to what I even meant in the first place.
TheApatheticGuy 10 months ago
@TheApatheticGuy than great :), i do not think i will spend time searching to clarify it as i trust you on your honest word and did not mean to come over as an aggresor, just many people missunderstand the roots of my and there own ancestors wich i think is a shame for the loss but all is in the gene's ^^
Have a very goodday to you, much respect and blessed be also ^^

@TheApatheticGuy For each muddy pond, there is a lotus which may sprout. These few words above show me the art of recycling. Great.
xinkon 8 months ago
@TheApatheticGuy This is an act of pride and not of love. Love is silent, humble, forgiving and nonconfrontational. Therefore, you are just as unskillful as those who would call Buddhists "pagans." Through your unskillful action, you have brought shame upon yourself and the Sangha, the Buddha and the Dharma.
AndrestheMystic 7 months ago
@AndrestheMystic
You're the only one exhibiting pride here, friend.
Also, love that isn't confrontational is as ineffective an act as pouring a cup of water into the ocean.

@Aterkomsten nothing changes you are still idolaters
jonathan21557 1 year ago
@jonathan21557 How wrong can you be? Idolaters are those who worship idols(Blind Faith). We Buddhists give our respect to "Buddha" not as Supernatural God, but as our TEACHER who showed us how to live & die mindfully, free from greed, anger & ego. There's nothing "Supernatural " about Buddha & his teachings as he lived / died (as a human being ) close to the Mother Nature. Even his teachings are NOT doctrine but of Self-Awareness. shweminthamee 1 year ago 4
Celticswynd 1 year ago
@Aterkomsten The buddha did say that you can not fight hate, with hate. Although his veiwpoint is differnt from yours, love him anyway.
Celticswynd 1 year ago 2
@jonathan21557 Paganism and Buddhism are extremely different. I'd be happy to tell you the differences and similarities.
Both Paganism and Buddhism venerate the earth as sacred.
However Pagans worship may worship many gods. We as Buddhists do not recognize a diety, however we do pay homage to the Buddhas, who are exalted from all worlds. We mainly focus on Gautama Buddha, since he was the one to establish our religion.
Sabbe satta subhito hontu!

Well, this language flows more with less hard consonants. English isn't as soft a language as this, though the wording seemed less than ideal.

I am doing time travel mentally praying and thinking to myself as a child all the beautiful music I learn as an adult to my child me.

uzzobb 1 year ago
@uzzobb The buddha only taught two things. Suffering, and how to get rid of it. So there's really no gods involved here.
Celticswynd 1 year ago 24
@Celticswynd There's no gods anywhere actually... Bhudda-Dharma is spiritual yet realistic inventing no god to worship
uzzobb 1 year ago 6
@uzzobb Thankyou for clarifying that. I'm still new to Buddhism, and am still in the learning process.
Celticswynd 11 months ago 2
@uzzobb Too bad not all branches of Buddhism stayed atheist.
kloiten 3 months ago
@kloiten
