I hate to be defensive of the subculture but have you ever look past the black clothes and wild makeup and decorations and seen a person with a nonconformed mind and heart. Yes the clothes and music is conformity but not the person who enjoys that way of living. Some of the best music,poetry,novels,buildings and historical artifacts were made by the artist or pacified and the so-called artist. Just like you said Siouxsie transcended past those categories, well i believe these dark artists did.
