  • god he is a jerk ):(

  • Tough choice to make. He chose the best.

  • Man schroeder is a jerk poor lucy XD

  • Man, I just realized that I'm the modern day equivalent to Schroeder. Except I'm not against Rock, in fact I love Rock more than any other kind of music, but I'm against electropop.

  • ...o.o Charlie Brown says he's bad at everything but he rules at guitar...xD

  • @GreenDaysSuperHero really awesome :)

  • I got to play Schroeder in YAGMCB it was fun :D

  • What's truly a pity is that there's usually no room for character development in serials. Thus is the pattern of Peanuts: Character sees opportunity; gets absorbed into it; and brings it crashing down due to a simple error or because they're too uncertain. Emphasis on the latter according to Mr. Schulz: "What if something goes terribly wrong?"

I wonder if the statistics are in fact dramatically lower than he makes them out to be?

  • Speaking of Short Summer, this one reinforces the fact that nobody is allowed to forget anything, and Charlie clearly isn't alone. Schroeder doesn't love Lucy back, huh? Same with Linus to Sally? Guess they're still bitter about ALL the girls being total Mary Sues or whatever during summer camp. Can I blame 'em? No.

  • Major character development on Lucy's part. I hate ta say it, but Lucy is actually quite loveable here, even though Pamelyn Ferdin makes her sound somewhat dorky. So far, I think Pamelyn nailed the voice best in A Boy Named CB. Loveable enough to make you forget her own chauvinistic tendencies (*cough* It Was A Short Summer, CB *cough, cough* never happened *cough* nope, never).

  • And so the Peanuts cartoons of the 1970s are off to a fairly good start. Something I forgot to mention sooner: Some of these scenes feel like padding and filler. Well, Schulz DID say he wanted people to enjoy his work at their OWN pace, and he was obviously the first to tell them so.

This is the first special to center around someone other than Charlie or Snoopy, in this case Lucy, with Schroeder coming up second.

  • @strudl89 lol I love to see snoop dog singing opera lol

  • Cmon its like asking snoop dog to sing opera music,or to ask axl rose to sing mariachi music, schoreder cant play such music even if he can

  • WIPEOUT!!

  • Oh Schroeder, so wise for your age

  • Style like the Beatles.

My dad would have liked listening to it.

I liked some of their work too.

"It's been a hard day's night, 'cause I've been working like a dog..."

  • Gezz this guy is mean or is he mean she try's her best but is it good enough for him no I can't get him at all

  • If Schroeder can handle beetoven music, then he's gonna have to deal with rock in which I'm sure he can handle rock of course.

  • Wow, I didn't know Charlie Brown can play a guitar that GOOD.

  • Me neither. Forget baseball, checkers, or the like, he should pursue music.

Alternatively, if only to avoid being redundant since Schroeder is the resident musician, Charlie oughta take up storywriting.

  • Lucy-i can't stand it

Schroeder-Ooooooo what are you going to do

    Charlie-do you need a chainsaw Lucy-oh ya

    All-go lucy go

    Schroeder- uh oh mommy!!!!!!

  • I love how this is modern music from the episode's era.

  • i think that only snoopy is funny

  • I understand his problem. You want to play the music you love so bad. be a composer Make music like the old days. beautiful classical Like bach. Amazing jazz like Oscar peterson. But no all the people want today is Pop and A bunch of screaming though the mic's. Whats it called? Oh yeah, Metal. No one wants quality music anymore. People like me want to be able to play music for a living but jazz and such. But this generation won't accept it and we soon all sell out Such as the vid. Sad.

  • FORGET IT!!!!?? AAAAGGGHHHH!!!! 2:04

  • Schroeder didn't want to be "commercial"

  • Schroeder didn't want to be "commercial" XD

  • Poor lucy she trys so hard to impress this man hey Thars always shermy lucy I am writing a story about them

  • Love it, thanks for sharing.....Roy

  • Schroder's been a music snob since the 50s. He broke a radio when it played jazz piano.

  • SCHROEDER!!!

  • lucy: where do you want the amplifier? schroeder: amplifier? lucy: hey! where do you plug in the piano? schroeder: :p bleach! lucy: what kind of piano is this? no plug for the amplifier or... schroeder: AAAAUGH! lucy:... no electricity? some piano.

  • I sold out

    hahahha

  • There are a lot of Schroeders in this world...

And I wish CB would play guitar for the red-headed girl. I for one wouldn't ignore him after that.

  • That "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH" is epic :D

  • lulz at snoopy playing stand up bass

  • hilarious

  • Shroeder as Angsty Artiste......

He should check out some Pinetop Perkins.

A little old fashioned boogie woogie.

    AAAAAHHHHH

  • 2:06 was hilarious

  • (1:05) I can't Help but notice that Snoopy Killed That Quick Bass Solo. That is an awesome dog

  • Surprisingly Snoopy plays bass! He´s so much like Keith Moon as a person, so you´d think...

  • Lucy's voice is so annoying...

  • no sry it's not!!!!???

  • taxman beatles

  • A dog that plays bass? Now THAT's cool.

  • wtf y do u like to do videos like it

  • any idea of the name of the song theyre playing

  • schroeder fucking shreds

  • Schroeder is hardcore!

  • it sounds better without piano

  • Take one for the team Schorder...take on for the team

  • haha Schröder ^^ Schade, dass die sich ned bemüht haben den Namen deutsch auszusprechen, ist ja ein deutscher Nachname :P

  • O Mann! You are daft!!! Aber wenn wir schon dabei sind: Schröder hat schwaze Haare und war Bundeskanzler, es ist nicht belegt, dass er überhaupt musikalisch ist, let alone being able to play the piano!!!!

  • Von was laberst du denn überhaupt? Dass Gerhard Schröder nichts mit Schroeder von den Peantus zu tun hat ... also um das festzustellen braucht man kein Abitur ;) Geht ja rein zeitlich auch überhaupt nicht :P

    Also dont feel the trolls

  • Nix begriffen, gell?

  • Ned wirklich bei so nem Gestammel von dir

  • since when could Charlie Brown do anything but be fat? Still, good movie

  • since when could Charlie Brown do anything but be fat? Still, good movie

  • lucy sounds like that girl from the cartoon charlets web

  • Who? Debbie Reynolds?

  • Pamlyn Ferdin did both voices.

  • @sasoristwin: That is her. Lucy is played by Fern.

  • How come Pigpen only very rarely speaks?

  • because he's the best and he doesn't need to speak... my favourite anyday.

  • What's with the "AAAAAAAAAHHH!"'s?

    Blasted my ears out.

  • umm...lucy sounds different

  • @unique492, in the specials all the kids were voiced by different children. When one got too old, they replaced them with another one.

  • @unique492 sounds less bitchy

  • fert ata el da uol froom camoi plak doo vey nan je sookls a dfkd

    JIBBRISH

  • Pamlyn Ferdin sounds older than she was.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prejudice Mother fucker

  • I say, young Charlie Brown seems to have befriended a tramp!?? lol

  • has this been dubbed as what the hell is wrong with Lucys voice, as she sounds all wrong

  • What song is this at the beginging?

  • Vince Guaraldi really lets loose with his music on this special. Lots of wild Fender Rhodes funk to be heard here, as well as plenty classical piano! One of my favorites!

  • I've never seen this Peanuts speacial.

  • Lucy sounds like a guy! guess how old the people who do the voices are!

  • This was actually one of those character departures I could not buy into as a Peanuts scholar. I could not envision CB as displaced a soul if could embrace music so well. And Schroder is the hippest of the bunch. He played Guaraldi jazz at xmas! He couldn't adapt? I doubt it...

  • That's just how I feel about What Have We Learned, CB.

  • Instead of that cute teenybopper riff, they probably should have tried something like "Chest Fever" or "Dear Mr. Fantasy". What Schroder needed was a Hammond B-3. He'd have adapted much easier, the way Garth Hudson did with The Hawks.

  • Or if they could have played metal, something like sonata arctica "full moon". Schroeder might have liked the beginning

  • hell no, cannibal corpse

"Stripped, Raped And Strangled" everybody loves that intro

  • I LOVE PIG PEN HE WAS THE BEST PEANUT!!

  • good grief!

  • Boomerang's showing the "Peanuts" specials in another country?! Blast it, why can't it be that way here?!

  • Charlie Brown wails on that guitar! I love it!

  • lucy sounds more like a teen instead of a kid.

  • I agree,and Charlie Brown sounds like he's 11.

  • Wait! I take it back. He sounds 13.

  • Pamlyn Ferdin voiced Lucy from 1969-70 in A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN, IT WAS A SHORT SUMMER CHARLIE BROWN AND PLAY IT AGAIN CHARLIE BROWN would be her last special. She was about 11-12 yrs old about this time. If you wonder what she looks like, she's in The Brady Bunch ep. were Jan buys the wig as Lucy Winters.

  • This is the best!! I love how Pigpen's cloud of dust gets bigger the harder he rocks out! LOVE IT!! and the music itself is really good. Go Chuck!

  • woah love it, please, add the remaining part too, i beg you ^.^

  • Those, what are they, 6 year olds, knew how to rock. Nice.

  • 6 (or so) year old kids and a dog.

Schroeder (which is in my spell-check) isn't a sell-out, hes closed minded. let him never claim to be a music lover if he only like classical.

  • So true. In my imagination, though, he learned to appreciate more genres as he grew up. I also like to think that Charlie Brown married the Little Red-Haired Girl. XD

  • i can't foresee a happy life for Charlie Brown. Plus little red-haired girl is based on someone Charles Schultz used to love and she turned him down.

As for Schroeder, the way he is now at best he'll learn to appreciate jazz, but i don't think he'll ever be driving down the street blasting Slayer or Dr. Dre or Aphex Twin. Though i'd love to see 'Its 187, Charlie Brown' or 'Give your First-Born to Satan, that it may be a vessel for Damien, Charlie Brown' or 'Its A Hit of Ecstasy, Charlie Brown'.

  • Or "It's Your Suicide On Webcam, Charlie Brown!" So sad, I miss the complex, dark, yet gentle worldview Charles Schultz espoused.

  • Now theres only "Sadness" left, now, right? I guess I did learn...Peace, Charlie Brown...

  • Ah, fanon. Does your imagination cover fanon discontinuity?

  • So it seems, but I'll give my own input on that most likely when I reach the Arbor Day special.
