  • @DelStrainComedy not just that, its about life , being disapointed etc

  • theres a difference between the clash and most modern bands, they never edited their music on a computer

  • @Boltboxer In a studio, they did, The Beatles, the Clash. but it wasn't overdone.

i walked out, looked at my friends and said, "i know this is the first concert Iv'e ever been to, but ,,,,,,,,thats the best concert im ever going to see."

    NO SHIT.

  • isn't Mick Jones in Foreigner??

Just kidding! I never saw the Clash, but have grown to love them in the last few years. They were something special. Paul was no frontman!

  • nah, thats a different mick jones

  • Paul may not have been a front man per se but dammit, he was the coolest guy I've ever seen on stage. If I could look half as cool when I play...

  • Mick Jones sang all my fave songs by the clash. He should have been considered the front man.

  • no fucking way mick doesnt have balls like joe does better singing voice yes but hes more flamboyent which i dont care for

  • I thought you would. Im sure you'd love a flamboyant man.

  • The Clash had three front man, Joe, Mick and Paul

  • Amazing....probably my fav Clash's song...Thanks for posting mate

  • mick jones looks like tevez soccer player

  • jajajajajaajaj XD

  • @MAURICIOBC30

LOL... i noticed the same thing.

  • @MAURICIOBC30 And Joe looks like Crowded House's Neil Finn here

  • People who make videos for this song need to lose their obsession with having the video in an actual supermarket. The song is much deeper than that... It isn't necessarily about supermarkets at all.

I like this recording of the song-- the Clash were one of very few bands whose live performances sound as good as the studio ones. Too bad I never got to see them live.

  • @BBulletin what is it supposed to be about? I'm guessing you are going to go into some deep stuff about it being about a parody of consumerism and stuff.

  • @saintlysinner666 No he actually looking for the toilet.

  • @saintlysinner666 No, he's looking for the toilet.

  • @BBulletin

I don't agree. This song was witten for all those who hate the supermarket, having to choose between 7 types of different olive oil balacin price and expected quality aginst each other.

  • @BBulletin what they need to figure out is it's a song about depersonalization. Instead of making a video about the horror of the way we look through people and ignore each other and the huge cones of vacuum around us, they make happy videos about having their heads up their asses in the supermarket. To the tune of a song that's about waking up in the middle of a store one day and realizing you're surrounded by bullshit.

  • @BBulletin The Clash did sometimes sound much better live than on record, and then again they sounded really terrible live too, from time to time. They were a band who took chances live, which pays off, the result can be fantastic, but you can also turn everything into to a disaster. Which seems like a price they were willing to pay and we shoudl be thankful for it.

  • @BBulletin Rite .....but some very very few bands sounded better live : Black Sabbath, the Damned, the mighty Stevie Marriott's Humble Pie, The Stooges ........

  • @BBulletin ...how about this? you need to stop bashing another's creative expression regardless of how mundane it seems to be.

  • @sitonmyshamrock Not so much bashing as trying to get people to look beyond the surface. Of course, if want just the superficial, go for it!

  • @BBulletin agreed...i posted a video on my cooking website of a video of people in a supermarket but that's just cus it's a cooking website other then that i agree with you.

  • @BBulletin the supermarket videos are funny, The Clash's only fault was that they were too serious I bet if they could do it again they'd have more fun with everything.

  • Sounds like about five are clapping. Oh to be one of those five...

I used to bellow out this song in front of the speaker back in '86. =')

  • One of my favorite songs, not just by The Clash but of all time. A better tune than one might think, it can actually stand on its own as an instrumental. Name one more song by a punk rock group, or any rock group for that matter, that stands that kind of test!

  • @drbalalajka I believe several Ramones songs come close to this.

  • the clash muito bom... são os melhores.

  • I've never heard a live version of this song performed by the Clash. Nice bootleg!

  • So bad that mick got the sack! Great singer and how great they were together!
