If he did, I can't believe that a 17-year-old back in the 50s can write such a wonderful ballad and a 17-year-old today writes such trash. I'm 15 and until I was 14 I hated or disliked almost all music I heard on the radio. Then I discovered Bob Dylan's music, then Buddy Holly's, then the Beatles, and over a year later I'm here commenting on Ritchie Valens. I'm glad I finally found the kind of music I like, and I hope it lives on.
