  • I want one

  • i'm not such a coward that i need to torture other beings to save my own skin...what am i worth then? IF it would even save anything....most of the things to keep us safe, or save us, don't work..

and what they want this rat for is completely unnecessary.. our technology is sufficient enough.

  • I just get the feeling that there is something wrong with this...

  • i totally support military use of cyborgs of any kind.

screw your ethics, i want human brain cells on chips. you know thy can do it, why won't they :(

  • i dont understand the point of this. i just feel sorry for the rat.

  • is it still alive?

  • Yes it is a fully alive rat with a mind of it's own. Rats have a pleasure center in the brain that they put part of the implant into. Rats will do ANYTHING to have this stimulated, they find rats will cross electric grids to have the pleasure center stimulated that starving rats wouldn't cross for food. The rat works to have the pleasure spot stimulated, much like a dog does tricks for treats

  • Earlier this week I discovered Roborat and I was shocked. Robomonkey is probably being worked on right now.

  • great pet toy! How much is it?

  • sweet beat

  • military spy cameras, implants for soldiers to overcome fear or pain, and putting cameras on rats to "search through rubble for bodies" playing on, and referencing 9/11..a cheap shot for a scientist to try to continue a cruel and useless practice. They started with moths, but turned to mammals for a longer life span. If you want cutting technology type "big dog" in the google search bar. Why make rats like this when we have better robots?

  • stfu youre an idiot

  • kramer--try reading, anyone interested in the article that backs what I said, send me a message and I'll send you the link. I am also sending to the moron above me

  • Wow...bikesair, no. This was not created for, nor intended to be used in, paraplegics. A paraplegic is usually deemed so because of a spinal cord injury. It is not that the person cannot think "move leg", it is that the signal cannot pass a severed section in the spine. A quadriplegic has an injury higher, rendering their arms useless as well. Putting this in someone with severe brain damage would be unethical as they couldn't consent, and you are just..completely wrong. They made it for..

  • This is being suggested to go into soldiers, DARPA funded it.

  • Can this work with women?

  • So, they can just control the rat, right?

Now when will they try that on humans? I'd like to have my own Sex-slave, you know.

  • Dude...this is the cutting edge of science. This is the same technology that is going to allow paraplegics to move their legs again (is being done now). If you don't like that kind of scientific development going on then you are a really buzz kill imo. This is fricken incredible...

  • I dont mind it when it helps humans regain somthing they have lost. But i can also picture whole armies being controlled like comand and conquer with this thing.

But then again, the military is so gullible (lets fight a war that we shouldnt even be in), its not really needed.

  • i do something like that. its called realizing that you ARE FULL OF SHIT

  • poor rats... I am wondering if you should do this to your sons and daughters, EGOIST!! Who knows what headaches to that poor ratm with all those external the unnatural impulses... go attach some electrodes to your COCK!! people like you just contaminates this world

  • You sound like a real smart person.

  • Allah akhbar

  • Um, to all of those who are complaining, the rat doesn't feel pain; the brain doesn't have pain receptors at all.

  • I could give a rat's ass about the rat's ass. What I don't like about this is the fact that it can probably (and surely will eventually) be used on humans.

  • And what evidence are you using to come to this conclusion?

  • It's an assumption I'm making on the basis that it would be a really good idea for the people capable of controlling other people to actually do it. Why wouldn't they? The world isn't a nice place, and scientists aren't always the most reasonable or ethical people, especially when being persuaded by military funds and fame provided by people desperate for power. The details of the experiment may not be public, but the proof exists that it can be done, so it's not beyond anyone to do it.

  • Hi Jeremy

  • Hi, Katherine.

  • Hi Jeremy!

  • what's the music?

  • You've done this?

  • you smell that? YOURE FULL OF SHIT! thats probably the gayest thing ive ever seen

  • lol it's actually real, I've seen it work. search robo-rat and the first video says how it works.

  • dude that's so mean ^^ can't whait for seeing that on a human! XD

  • shut up

  • yeh, i have heard of it, im fucking expressing it rite now, i hope your mum, or sister, or daughter or something loses there arms and legs and the only way they would beable to feed themself is through technology like this, this isnt animal cruety its research to better mankind. the rat isnt going through any pain, it has a choice and it is rewarded for the correct decission, learn the facts before you put something down.

  • lmao yeah the rat had a choice. it told the people "experimenting" on it that it wanted to "better" things for humans. please. and that ain't no lab..that's just some guy's house with a pet rat in a milk carton on a toy car.looks like you should learn the facts

  • um, your an idiot. its a university, the rat feels no pain, it feels impulses that would normaly come from its whiskers, telling it wich way to turn, if it makes the correct decision it is rewarded with stimulation to the pleasure center of its brain, this sort of tecnology is vital in understanding the human brain and developing future technolgy that will better man, dont tell me i need to learn the facts i have been studying this as part of my neuro science course. u ignorant dick.

  • Ok, in that case, let me first point out that when you call someone else an idiot, at least don't make a fool out of yourself. It's "you're"..as in "you are".Not your..So call me what you like, I still think that this is inhumane.

  • It is inhumane, the rat doesn't look well at all.

  • yah , IT IS inhumane . the rat does things he doesn't even control . i'd be feared if some alien (or human ^-^' ) entities would implant electrodes in my brain and control what i do ... REALLY it it inhuman ... but , hey , rats today to detect bombs , humans tomorrow ...

  • Is the brain of the Rat Dead or is the rat itself still alive ?

  • cool, when can we expect to see this implemented using humans?

  • wow

  • cool rat! the only thing that could screw this up are hippies giving comments of animal cruelty, like that's gonna happen. Cool video, 5 stars!

  • i agree with you.i don't get why some assholes are giving you thumbs down. then again, the type of people who support this are the assholes with no lives or friends who sit on their asses looking for videos and reading all the comments.

  • when this technology can save lifes, i hope it will not be your life because you don't deserve it...

  • @Fromzon no one Deserves it! Deserve what, to exploit the whole world and all the living things on it to fund your short, insignificant 70 years? arrogant monkey.

  • man.. that's immoral. ever imagined this was done to you or someone close to you? ugh.

  • This scares me a bit. If they're testing it on rats, whose to say it won't work its way up to humans one day. I certainly wouldn't want to be controlled by another person. :/

  • I think the point is more to use the rat-bot to substitute for humans in jobs that are difficult, dangerous, or which the rat can do better - like tracking something via smell, or searching collapsed buildings for survivors. Imagine using the ratbot on a wide scale to gather intelligence in Iraq. That very well might save the lives of many Allied soldiers.

  • And you don't think that's scary? Using rats to gather intelligence on resistance? It's awesome research, but it's just another powerful tool for an empire or police state to completely subdue its opponents. I suppose if you think there's some mechanism, like tradition or God, that eliminates the possibility of authoritarian rule in the west.

  • HELL YA! :D

  • you cant buy some thing like that, duh

  • forget the rat, give me one of those electrodes that makes euphoria!

awesome! reminds me of the roach robot thingy

  • THis is soooo friggin cool. I want one of those!

  • where i can buy one of those roborats?

  • ciill where i can buy one of those ?
