I fucking loveeeeeeee psycho-motive 1:07 & 1:40 amazzing!!!! 4:06 fantasticcccc, next 6:32 greattttt ahh very good job!!! But, I think there is to many changes.
that radiohead soundin riff in the beging is tight, sounds like there early stuff/amnemic riffs mixed with metal wierd! do you have many videos of ur band?
Haha yeah. I hear a lot of rage influences in the third real riff I guess you can say of the marlboro king song. The one you do it the combined effects video.
Yup i would agree! Its never a deliberate thing, rifs, melodies and song structures just come out as a result of us bouncing ideas off each other.
We do name the sections when writing new material in that way..." Radiohead riff, followed by Rage riff, then into Incubus riff,Oceansize section, then random 6/4 section etc"
I think when ur as into music as we are its bound to shine through at times, i dont think however we sound, particulaly like one specific band.
Yeah we do that a lot as well. But I guess we would say like, genres. For example, a couple of the wierd names we have are like, slow death metal mosh breakdown (though I do not like death metal at all, we put our own spin on it :P) and like, cheesy 90's pop rock ballad bridge haha. Btw, I have another video on youtube that I did an acoustic version of one of our songs (I shortened it to make it less repetitive since there's no vocals) and we are planning on doing some "high quality" recordings.
Thank you for the very kind words. Our EP will be available for digital download on the Feb ist, keep an eye out. Granted this track isnt on it, it will be on the next one. Cheers
Glad you enjoy our music and thank you for your kind words. We would very much like to play in Germany at some point in the future!! I visited your country in January of last year, beautiful country, very nice people and great beer!!
Erm I know it sounds a little cliche but I dont really think we fall into a particular genre, we take influence from a variety of genres when writing. I suppose there are post rock elements, hard rock, bordering on metal, with a definite progressive slant
It does indeed dude, good ear. Most of our songs mere into the next. we tend to write and record 30min blocks of songs so when u see us live u hear EXACTLY whats on the cd in order. although we hav just riten a full 80 album which placido disc and fortune unknown are on. thanks for the comment dude
Thanks for the kinds words dude. We are about to release our first EP 'Airport Syndrome' which will be available on CD and from iTunes soon. Keep an eye on my youtube site or myspace site for details of the release.
Thanks a lot!! Have you already seen my questions on your violin bow technic video?? I was amazed of that sound and I'm very interested in. Thanks, your band sounds great!!
Yeh I did, forgot to reply, I gt a load of messages and comments everyday man, I sometimes miss a few lol! I will send u a detailed email about the fx used in that vid, its too long to put on here, hope it helps.
Its awesome dude, u can basically layer aalot more guitar parts into songs, works very well when building a songs dynamics etc. Takes longer to write parts aswell, and it was initially difficult not to just ALL play all the time. We also use octave and harmonising effects + loopers aswell, so we sound very BIG when playing live. cheers
I dont use anything at the moment really. I occasionally loop parts and play the harmonies myself. But we have 3 guitarists in the band dude, so we just play the harmonies and octaves. Glad you like the tune
Magnum Opus starts at like 7.25 in this video, right at the end. Although there is quite a large transitional dancey section though running from 5.50 the end we still consider that part of Placido Disc. In the Magnum Opus video we play the end of Placido Disc for the sake of practicing the trasition.
Silly Thomas doesnt know the names of the songs it seems haha! Yeh 'Placido Disc' and 'Fortune Unknown' blend together from about 5.50 onwards is the linking section.
Thats a tight track. Not entirely my scene but ill give respect when its deserved. Wat u got in ur rig cause the dirty tone is pretty sweet. And that dude that said u need a new drummer is dumb cause he sounds pretty technical just awful bass and cymbal sound from camera.
Thanks for the kind words dude. Surpringly all 3 of us are using our practice amps here man, Line 6 Flextone II and III's. We all play Mesa Boogie gear, in our full live rigs, but the Line 6 amps sound awesome despite alot of negative comments you'll here.
If you spend time with one you can get some kickass tones from it.
I totally agree ... I would LOVE to be in a Band like that... what effects are used to create that ... humm .. violin strings pad sounds? dont know how to describe it ... very explosions in the sky and Red Sparowes like... nice
hey completley didnt realise you where from glasgow untila year after watchin ur vid with guitar plus bow! with the band use are good i really like the post rock bits the metal type bits not as much but awesome
Cheers man. We play quite a weird stlye, some stuff is reall heavy other stuff more atmospheric. Wouldnt really class it as Metal, I aint a metal fan myself, but some oes verge that way as we use 7 and now 8 string guitars on tracks! Thanks for the comment
Thanks man. We have an EP coming out soon. Should be available as a CD or on iTunes in a few weeks. Check out the myspace for details, address should be in the vid desc.

DeathatDawn12 3 years ago

Gunsreloader 3 years ago
Yeh i am a big Radiohead fan, so its bound to show in some of our material.
Most of the effects u hear in this vid are just variations of delay pedal settings dude. The bit right at the end is a buzz-saw style tremolo effect.
