  • Haha thats quite a compliment, thank you!

  • that radiohead soundin riff in the beging is tight, sounds like there early stuff/amnemic riffs mixed with metal wierd! do you have many videos of ur band?

  • Thanks! I am a big Radiohead fan.

Yeh there are loads of vids of my band on youtube. If you click on my username, there are a few in my channels favourite list!

  • Not gonna lie, 3:23 sounds like the 'ganster' rap sound that rage against the machine was going for. I like that part a lot.

  • Thanks! This song has alot of random influences thown in! I am a Rage fan so bound to get in sometimes!

  • Haha yeah. I hear a lot of rage influences in the third real riff I guess you can say of the marlboro king song. The one you do it the combined effects video.

  • Yup i would agree! Its never a deliberate thing, rifs, melodies and song structures just come out as a result of us bouncing ideas off each other.

We do name the sections when writing new material in that way..." Radiohead riff, followed by Rage riff, then into Incubus riff,Oceansize section, then random 6/4 section etc"

I think when ur as into music as we are its bound to shine through at times, i dont think however we sound, particulaly like one specific band.

  • Yeah we do that a lot as well. But I guess we would say like, genres. For example, a couple of the wierd names we have are like, slow death metal mosh breakdown (though I do not like death metal at all, we put our own spin on it :P) and like, cheesy 90's pop rock ballad bridge haha. Btw, I have another video on youtube that I did an acoustic version of one of our songs (I shortened it to make it less repetitive since there's no vocals) and we are planning on doing some "high quality" recordings.

  • i can't even tell you how amazing you sound. the breakdowns are sick, the guitar riffs are amazing, and the perfect use of effects is incredible

  • Thank you for the very kind words. Our EP will be available for digital download on the Feb ist, keep an eye out. Granted this track isnt on it, it will be on the next one. Cheers

  • I would also like to drink beer in Germany.

  • lol i'm glad you like the music so much. Haha, getting a beer in germany sounds awesome.

  • Glad you enjoy our music and thank you for your kind words. We would very much like to play in Germany at some point in the future!! I visited your country in January of last year, beautiful country, very nice people and great beer!!

    Thanks again

  • Jesus man, when u pick your hand goes above the guitar lol. Nice playing though, you kinda remind me a bit of opeth

  • good stuff guys! A lot of eclectic influences in your music, I gotta go check out your other vids..

  • Thank you, please do. cheers

  • what would you call your genre?

  • Erm I know it sounds a little cliche but I dont really think we fall into a particular genre, we take influence from a variety of genres when writing. I suppose there are post rock elements, hard rock, bordering on metal, with a definite progressive slant

  • I remember finding your band a while back- here I am again. you guys are as good as ever

  • Thanks man

  • ...if you do this on your upcoming ep,I would like to buy it. Awesome!

  • Man!!! Awesome!!!!!

  • just brilliant rhythm composing

i barely stop to listen it again&again

went and checked out the rest songs of ur band on myspace were brilliant too

    perfect rec&mix btw

    keep rock dude YEAH~

  • Thanks for the kind words dude. Glad you enjoy the tunes. We have an EP out soon, keep an eye out for it. Cheers

  • Just wondering, but does this song go right into fortune unknown?

  • It does indeed dude, good ear. Most of our songs mere into the next. we tend to write and record 30min blocks of songs so when u see us live u hear EXACTLY whats on the cd in order. although we hav just riten a full 80 album which placido disc and fortune unknown are on. thanks for the comment dude

  • What tremolo pedal are you using near the end of the song? Sounds amazing and your band is awesome!

  • Its actually the 'Slicer' effect on a Boss GT-6 thats producing that tremolo effect dude. Thanks for the kind words about the band.

  • your band is amazing.

    great work.

If you guys tour, definitly come to VA.

it'd be awesome to see you.

  • Thanks for the kind words dude

  • Thanks for the kinds words dude. We are about to release our first EP 'Airport Syndrome' which will be available on CD and from iTunes soon. Keep an eye on my youtube site or myspace site for details of the release.

  • is it gonna release in canada?

  • Yeh it will be available worldwide via post as a CD, or via download from iTunes.

  • Thanks a lot!! Have you already seen my questions on your violin bow technic video?? I was amazed of that sound and I'm very interested in. Thanks, your band sounds great!!

  • Yeh I did, forgot to reply, I gt a load of messages and comments everyday man, I sometimes miss a few lol! I will send u a detailed email about the fx used in that vid, its too long to put on here, hope it helps.

  • Wooow, sounds great, very surrounding, Radiohead influencies?? and nice electronic sounds near the end of the vid. what kind of effect used?? Thanks

  • Yeh i am a big Radiohead fan, so its bound to show in some of our material.

Most of the effects u hear in this vid are just variations of delay pedal settings dude. The bit right at the end is a buzz-saw style tremolo effect.

  • your band is a perfect example

    of the music i like

  • Thanks dude. Glad u enjoy our music.

  • Almost rings Pyramid Song

  • nice!!

  • whats it like with 3 guitarists in a band? how does it work

  • Its awesome dude, u can basically layer aalot more guitar parts into songs, works very well when building a songs dynamics etc. Takes longer to write parts aswell, and it was initially difficult not to just ALL play all the time. We also use octave and harmonising effects + loopers aswell, so we sound very BIG when playing live. cheers

  • what do you use for harmonize effects? and octatave? i think the intro is beautiful soo sweet

  • I dont use anything at the moment really. I occasionally loop parts and play the harmonies myself. But we have 3 guitarists in the band dude, so we just play the harmonies and octaves. Glad you like the tune

  • Pyramid Song at the intro!lollololol jk, good work guys

  • Yeah dude, sweet song, the closure is awesome.

  • at 5:50

    do you guys fall into

    your magnum opus?

  • Magnum Opus starts at like 7.25 in this video, right at the end. Although there is quite a large transitional dancey section though running from 5.50 the end we still consider that part of Placido Disc. In the Magnum Opus video we play the end of Placido Disc for the sake of practicing the trasition.

  • No actually, sorry I got totally confused there. We dont go into Magnum Opus at all from this song. It goes into Fortune Uknown.

  • Silly Thomas doesnt know the names of the songs it seems haha! Yeh 'Placido Disc' and 'Fortune Unknown' blend together from about 5.50 onwards is the linking section.

  • Thats a tight track. Not entirely my scene but ill give respect when its deserved. Wat u got in ur rig cause the dirty tone is pretty sweet. And that dude that said u need a new drummer is dumb cause he sounds pretty technical just awful bass and cymbal sound from camera.

ps Love the random funky bit so cool

  • Thanks for the kind words dude. Surpringly all 3 of us are using our practice amps here man, Line 6 Flextone II and III's. We all play Mesa Boogie gear, in our full live rigs, but the Line 6 amps sound awesome despite alot of negative comments you'll here.

If you spend time with one you can get some kickass tones from it.

  • OH LAWD IS DAT SUM PROG ROCK?

Fucking EPIC, man. I've never been blown away by any bands unsigned bands on youtube until now. This is inspirational :D

  • Thanks for the kind words dude. You should check out some of our other stuff if u like this. The newer tracks are of a similar vein.

  • I totally agree ... I would LOVE to be in a Band like that... what effects are used to create that ... humm .. violin strings pad sounds? dont know how to describe it ... very explosions in the sky and Red Sparowes like... nice

  • Errrm there r a few things going on there dude, lots of delay, 3 guitarist playing and layering stuff, and an EBow

  • damn straight same here. i play bass and would love to be in a band like this

  • lol ok where do you live ? :-p

  • i really like this, nice ambient, you guys are kick ass

  • Thanks man

  • hey completley didnt realise you where from glasgow untila year after watchin ur vid with guitar plus bow! with the band use are good i really like the post rock bits the metal type bits not as much but awesome

  • Cheers man. We play quite a weird stlye, some stuff is reall heavy other stuff more atmospheric. Wouldnt really class it as Metal, I aint a metal fan myself, but some oes verge that way as we use 7 and now 8 string guitars on tracks! Thanks for the comment

  • damn. i hope you guys find your way in the music industry and get the chance to release some shit like that. Great song.

  • Thanks man. We have an EP coming out soon. Should be available as a CD or on iTunes in a few weeks. Check out the myspace for details, address should be in the vid desc.

  • the intro sounds great! (get urself a new drummer)

  • its pretty awesome pink floyd-esk

  • Your dream theatre/prog. influences are apparent here. awesome!

  • Cool, we r big DT fans, so its likely for it to shine through sometimes! DT kick ass!

  • this is awesome. it's such a rebellion of all the crappy new bands. love it.

  • Thanks man.

  • kick ass song the style kind of reminds me of the band An Endless Sporadic

  • Thanks for the kind words dude. I havent heard of them, I will check them out man, thanks.

  • Couple of mistakes by me and Thomas but in general it kicks ass. When you combine it and Fortune Unknown as one its uber.

6:18 delay vibe is the best bit.

    Gaz

  • I really love it. Good job.

  • NICE job! I love the style, kinda like dream theater.

  • damn those guitars were rockin. and the drumber was pretty badass 2

  • Cool!
