  • That Jimmy Farmer steel is the best

  • Although often attributed to Marty as the writer, this song was written by E W "Tiny" Stokes, who lived for many years in Helena, Montana. It alternately was known as Jodie and was recorded by a few other besides Marty. He and Marty kept in touch over the years.

  • Thanks for your highly informative post mrfiddleman. I have meant to thank you before for your interesting comments.

  • @mrfiddleman Wow.... My Uncle Les claims he wrote this... which I believe he did... He wrote it, but needed money and sold the song to I thought Marty, but the name Tiny Stokes sounds familiar as well.... He has long since passed, so I can't get it from him.... I posted some videos of my uncle on youtube of him playing WITH marty.... Look up either Les Booth or Quinine Gumstump to see them...

  • Has anyone got a audio copy of this?

  • Thanks!

    Never heard before.........

  • thank you for posting
