Does anyone know where I can get the complete chanting of the Vedas (Rig, Saam, Yajur) on CD? I would like chanting of the Vedas like in this video. Thanks.
Thanks. I am not trying to chant like them, rather I am after the audio recordings of their chants to listen to. They say listening to the Vedas (since they are "Shruti") is very beneficial for humans in a spiritual sense, bringing them closer to God.
It can't be done on youtube. Krishna Yajurveda Samhita is seven kandas and it's about 28 hours of recitation at a fairly good speed. Brahmana is another 18 hours, Aranyaka about 10 hours.
lol.. and we're supposed to have the redacted version in the Kali Yuga! hahahah... how on earth did the Rishis learn ALL of it through oral tradition? Incredible memory and devotion!
No, we have exactly the same version as the ones that the rishis gave us. The rishis were brilliant, and knew a thing or two about how brain accesses memory. There are a no. of Pandits who have been trained in the same tradition and have no use of books.
The version may be the same, however, the quantity of the Vedas is MUCH SHORTER in the Kali Yuga. In fact, there is only ONE VEDA. Veda Vyasa is supposed to have "dumbed it down" for mankind in the later Yugas (Dwapara/Kali) due to the reduction of the intellect. The shlokas have NEVER been changed but the number of shlokas we have now are FAR LESS than the ones in the previous Yugas.
I am not sure I understand. There always was only one veda, it had four shakhas - Rik, Yajus, Sama and Atharva. Each of these shakhas had there own shakhas (i.e.) Rik had Shakalya, Ashwalayana, Yajus had Krishna, Shukla etc. Some of this Shakhas had shakas too e.g. Krisha Yajurveda has Taittiriya and Maitraiyini etc, Shukla has Vajasaneya, Kanwa etc. It's thought that Sama had upto 1000 shakhas out of which only three remain - Kauthuma, Jaimini & Ranayana.
Now on closer examination of the shakhas themselves the mantras are pretty much the same. It's the swaras that are different. Also, the samaveda mantras are a strict sub-set of rigveda mantras, hence I am not sure what the comment means. Is there a source for this comment that one can read. I am very interested.

Try Veda prasar samiti. However, you will have to go train with him for a no. of years to chant like this.

Sorry, I may have misinterpreted your message. You are absolutely right - Chanting or listening to Veda is very beneficial.
Armed with this belief, it is a good idea to strive to chant Veda. You just need to find somebody to teach you.
