I think, at last, I've found the perfect recording of these works!

I mean how many recordings don't you have by half-good orchestras, as well as great ensembles who does this work as un-baroque and stiff as you possibly could. I have long looked for a real mind-blowing, BAROQUE recording of these cornerstones of the classical music CD collection, and of course the Baroque Orchestra of the Maestro's hometown and Carmignola would be it!

Giuliano Carmignola's performance is perfect, he played many Vivaldi's works also. His performance full of appeal, and tension, which could bring to the sense of the performance, even the sense of Vivaldi's world.

Winter. My favorite season. To the drama of the snowstorm, follows the calm beauty of the white, pristine landscape. Winter is the most dramatic of seasons, and Carmignola grasps it superbly.

Carmignola's is the most philologically correct interpretation of Vivaldi.

Its a very good interpretation, but i think its more like romantic, instead of baroque.

I'm not saying thats bad because its not just i like the baroque music play in baroque style.

Anyway this is a fantastic interpretation in its own way.

@eudossa ed è per questo che penso che Vivaldi sarebbe fiero di essere riuscito a trasmettere nelle "stagioni" un qualcosa che Carmignola è riuscito a vedere e interpretare. Credo che lo spirito dell'inverno sia esattamente quello che c'è in questa versione, a mio parere la migliore su youtube...

Uh, sorry for one of the thumbs-down and the "marked as spam", but I was experimenting and can't see how to get rid of mistakes. Apologies, all. There are so many renditions of this music that are technically good, are played excellently - but THIS truly makes you FEEL what I believe Vivaldi was attempting to get across. And isn't that the most important point in music? To communicate emotion?
