If you took a real life gauss gun like that guy had he had it simply fireing once pretty fast what would happen if you had the bullet shoot towards the end then swap magnetics to reject it in the other direction etc to build up momentum before release is that even possible w/ magnets or is there a constant when the magnetic fields hit.

actually , a real gauss weapon , powerful as in the games is totally possible in reality.

The only and one , but unsolvable problem is Power supply required. U can fire a magnetic sensible projectile at a few meters with simple power supply such as any battery and a decent circuitry of coils and shit, buyable in any electronic vendors.

So guess what would happen if you could rig a nuclear facility on an adapted gauss system...?? trouble is ...u can't put a nuclear facilty in a backpack ahahaha

Fallout 3 PC still looks like it should be on a console and played like it also. The V.A.T.S and any other autoaim feature is a necessity on a console due to the crappy controls, and was left in for the PC...I never used it. Never played FO1 or 2, and have played 2 of the Stalker series, which completely immersed me into the game, as apposed to FO3 which due to its console beginning had no where near the same effect. Hope they don't ruin Stalker 2 by going multiplatform. Nice job on the gun.

Um... If by "reality," you mean an vastly under-powered civilian toy, then yes, Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are total fiction. If by "reality" you mean a military grade "Gauss" Electomagnetic Mass Driver rifle, then no, Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. are closer to reality than you think. Military grade rifles like that propel rounds at 2000+ meters/second (6500+ feet/second). That's not just fiction mind you. Give it ten years and you'll see them in use. Cool pistol, btw.

Not that I dislike Fallout 3. It's as fun as Oblivion. But those are simplistic games, basically, FPS with a light RPG flavour. Nothing else.

This is what happen when you develop your game to reach a very large audience, you end up leveling its richnesses and qualities from the bottom.

@Varanor I have to say one thing - is that it has great RPG elements in it. Fallout 3 is looked upon like this "OMG its modern and its in first person, so thus it has NO RPG ELEMENTS at all." It has just as many RPG elements as Fallout 1 and 2, only the fact that you aren't ALWAYS taking a chance on weather you hit the enemy or not. Borderlands is the game you describe, I hardly count it as an RPG.
