  • MJ requested that al do a parody of black and white!!!! what a sport!

  • i heard MICHALE JACKSON WAS A BIG FAN OF WEIRD AL and mj requstet FAT and EAT IT

  • weird al's parodies of mj are about food, i dunno why,.... maybe he wish 2 be fat or something :P anyway a good singer

  • Anyone notice that most of Weird Al's MJ parodies have to do with eating?

  • @gokuto99 all of them

  • Can't believe this is STILL the only copy of this song out there. Would you like fries with that?

  • @fidledoo michael jackson asked weird al not to make this cause it was too "important"

  • @oksanka5275 - it's not like blacks heed his 'we should all love eachother' message anyway, you may as well let Al take a crack at it.

  • Thumbs up if you came from Wiki :D

  • I sometimes forget how much I love him.

  • @Yokonono99 I never forget how much I love him ;)

  • his versions of Beat It and Bad (Eat It and Fat) were affectionate send-ups authorized by M.J. himself; they made Yankovic’s career, and the latter garnered him a Grammy Award.

M.J.’s sense of humour remains underrated — who else but an inveterate prankster would call his child Blanket?

The third in Yankovic’s proposed obese-MJ trilogy, Snack All Night, was nixed when Jackson felt that his original, Black and White, expressed sentiments that were too important to trifle with.

  • @83bubble MJ was a dreadfully sick individual. NO sane person would call their kid "Blanket". You people are in denial about who michael really was. Not a healthy person. Sad.

  • @MrGrevy

whats bad about that name? its just a nickname

  • I love this - I know MJ didn't want the song parodied...but Weird Al isn't making fun of the song's message...he's just using the tune and sound to make another lyrics and song - about snacknig all nite - Wierd al is fab!

  • @sketchley80 i know.. its a good parodie but maybe mj thought people would start to take that song as a joke....

  • um you guys know that michael said not to parody this song because of the strong message? weird al did this when michael said no!

  • @jfinewilliams Yeah its a concert extra preformence what did you think!

  • @jfinewilliams

Actually MJ told him not to RECORD it for an album. He could still play it live, though.

  • This was refused parody was originally going to be on Weird Al's "Off the Deep End".

  • that was cool :D

  • I love that Weird Al's MJ parodies were always about food, when Michael was skinny his whole life.

  • i wish MJ would have let him release this song

  • As much as i love mj,i agree.but he said the message was too important in the song to have a parody.i think its very important,i stil wish he gave him permission though

  • A pile of chicken bones is under my head

A million Twinkie wrappers all around my head

Jelly doughnuts to the left of me

Got a bag of chocolate chips on my right

    But, if

If you don't mind the calories

It don't matter if you snack all night

  • idiotas filhos da puta..

  • awesome

  • Al doesn't even need artists' permission for parodies. His parodies are protected by law and he can make them if he wants. He chooses to ask the artists anyway because he wants to have a good relationship with fellow musicians.

  • If he had recorded this, he wouldn't have made Smells Like Nirvana. A worthy sacrifice, IMO. Not thats there's anything wrong with Snack All Night, its just nothing special.

  • Huh. I always wondered what this song would sound like.

  • i love that his parodies aren't disrespectful of anyone unlike a lot of parodies

He respected these people and their songs and they respected him

  • @xoxoEmma94xoxo In fact it's regarded as a great honor to have Al Parody one of your songs. Except for Prince...

  • Surprisingly enough, that applies to Kurt Cobain too (after reading his history).

  • @xoxoEmma94xoxo but he didnt allow weird al to do this song, if i remember, because the message in black or white was too serious to be parodied.

  • @walrusguyjr Michael only told him not to record it. Playing it live was fine though.

  • @xoxoEmma94xoxo Other than Coolio.

  • @xoxoEmma94xoxo Except for the Backstreet Boys...

  • als voice sounds like he blowed a ballon I LIKE THIS

  • Michael Jackson was a big fan of Weird Al.

  • @sega31098 he was but he didn't like him parodying this song because he felt the message was to strong.

  • @sega31098 yea and the other way around

  • mj told weird al not to parody black or white

  • No he asked him not to record it. There was nothing to stop him peforming the song live.

Why do you think there are so many tribute act to various act out there? Because you don't have to ask premisiion to sing these song just to record them and sell them for profit. Otherwise everytime we sing in the car/shower/night club we'd have to pay the owners of the song.

Jacko was very big fan of Al and even let him use the same set from his song 'bad' for the video for Al song 'Fat'

  • ok when i read that MJ didn't want Weird al to record Snack All Night, i thought he couldn't parody it

  • Apparently not. Michael was a fan of Yankovic's work, and said he could record a parody of any song on Dangerous, just not Black and White, since it had the special message in it.

  • He didn't want him to parody "Black or White" specifically b/c he didn't want people to lose the message. He wasn't ultimately against Weird Al. In fact, he admired Weird Al. He just didn't want the public to lose the idea of "Black or White".

  • if you respect Michael Jackson, you shouldn'r refer to him as 'Jacko' its a disrespectful term that the media gave him.

  • Mj loved Wierd Al

  • Damn this is older than me`

  • Huh. I always wanted to know what that would sound like.

  • Michael Jackson respected Weird Als work

  • Most musicians consider it an honor when Weird Al does a parody of one of their songs. It's a sure sign that you've finally made it.

  • i miss michael and a month ago i hated him, once he died people actualy talked about the good in him and proved he did nothing bad

  • Typical human moronic behavior.

you dont know what you got till it's gone.

    assholes.

thanks for being one of the people who killed the only pure human being on the planet.

  • That is how it mostly is. Like if a guy who was kind of a jerk and stuff dies, People will do the same

  • OK-Here's what happened: Al wrote "Snack All Night", a parody of Micheal Jackson's "Black or White". But MJ said the song had too much meaning to be parodied, so Al only plays it in concert.

  • Source?

  • Every reliable source on the internet. Even some of the unreliable ones like Wikipedia!

  • No, I meant, could I have the source. Like a link.

  • he never put it on an album tho he only did it at live performances

  • Yeah, Weird Al and Michael Jackson has always been respecting for each other.

  • :P HAHA

  • not everything on wikipedia is right, dude.

michael said he didn't like the parody AFTER weird al had already written it.

  • Al never recorded Snack All Night.

He always asks permission before he records his songs. MJ told him when he asked BEFOREHAND that he didn't want him to RECORD the song.

This has been said countless times, but if MJ had a problem with him doing it in concert, he wouldn't have even done it in concert.

Al was very respectful to MJ and MJ spoke very well of Weird Al.

  • He asked Al not to RECORD it. There is a difference from a recording mass distributed on CD and a concert performance.

  • jerk, you shouldn't talk about the deceased like that. he accomsplished more in one pinky finger than you ever can in your whole life, NEVER say things like that to micheal jackson.

  • me or screech ?

  • Comment removed

  • I did not say anything inncorrect or mean about MJ I defended him! That was a fucking responce to Screech519's comment who said something like MJ is a molester he deserved it... I don't know why I got a -7 for telling screech off some people are retarded on Youtube, maybe I should have put a comma.

  • ...FUCK YOU

  • No He Won't sue AlHe just didn't won't to cover this song because it might cloud the real message of black or white. He Even gave Al the chance to parody another song from the dangerous Album

  • Is this in only one version ? I heard another one from different concert.

  • michael jackson - black or white

i though weird al made 2 mj songs but now its 3

  • he didn't put it on a cd cuz mike actually didn't want him to do it. he felt the message was too important, but weird al parodied it anyway.

  • Well it's not as sinister as that sounded. In reality, if he isn't selling the song, he can do whatever parody he wants live. It's his legal right. That's the same reason he could release "You're Pitiful" for free on his website.

  • it's still undermining michael's request. he could sue him if he wanted to

  • At this point, Jackson is so poor he couldn't afford to sue anyone. Don't get me wrong, I love Michael Jackson. LOVE. He is the greatest pop star ever. But he is just in a bad place, financially and publically.

  • i love him too, i wish he wasn't in a bad place. he seems like a really cool, nice guy, he's just picked on

  • Al COULD NOT BE SUED FOR WHAT HE DOES.

If you're an Al fan, chances are you more a fan of Al than you are of MJ. Therefore, you would only come to an Al concert if you liked him a lot.

The crowd that comes to Al's live shows aren't usually the same crowd that are huge followers of MJ that buy all of his CDs and stuff like that. When Al plays it live, he isn't ruining the message that goes out to MJ fans, he isn't even screwing with the sales.

  • i'm sorry, but i like mj more. tons more. i rly love al, but i just like mj better. and it's not an issue of the sales or the concerts, it's just doing something michael asked him directly not to do. the two men respect each other, and he should regard that.

p.s. thx for not yelling and cussing and totally telling me off, you were really polite about that. :)

  • I dont think its so much Al was undermining MJ, I think it was more of him wanting to do that song. Its not illegal, and Al is not making profit off of it. Its something most people are not going to see. Im sure MJ knows about it by now, and he could have told Al he isnt happy about it, but Al doesnt do it anymore, so its a moot point.

  • again, it's not rly about sales or anything. it's almost a matter of trust. he asked him not to, he did it anyway. that can be applied to anything. what if you told a friend a secret and asked them not to tell, and they told everyone anyway? same thing- disregarding a reasonable request.

  • Al is friends with MJ, so he wouldn't.

  • they may be friends, but he still disregarded him.

  • he didnt make a studio version he does this consert only besides there no law thats says he cant he asks permission anyway

  • you guys all have it wrong, if al really wanted to realease it he would have, he's said in numerous videos the reason he didn't release "snack all night' is because he'd all ready parodeyd 2 jackson songs, and didnt want to be known as the guy who constantly made fun of jackson

  • I heard that Michael Jackson asked him not to do a parody of "Black or white" because it had too much meaning to it! I could have just heard it wrong though...

  • I'm only with Al on this argument because he didn't release the song. There's nothing wrong with what Al did.

The lyrics were obviously written before he asked; MJ had nothing against Al playing it in concert! Or else he would have said something to him at some point!

  • this really makes me want to snack all night. god i love weird al

  • awesome...grazie!!!

  • Can you upload Living with a Hernia or Addicted to Spuds from this show?

  • You don't ask for alot, do you?

  • No, how about Smells Like Nirvana! This is an early recording!

  • MnpyroMN isn't uploading any videos for a while. He's taking a break.
