Sadli it is the new and big parks droping now. Wild West World in Kansas did not make it 2 months before going under and a big park Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach only lasted April-September then filed Chapter 11.
Most are pricing themselves right out of the market. Gate prices of $50.00 a person, food prices over the top and lines so long you can't get on anything. It costs a family of four a weeks wages or more. We went to Six Flags in San Antonio this year and got on maybe four rides. Of course if you paied extra you could do legal line jumping. Greed all Greed!
I lived in the Cleveland area all my life We went to Conneaut a lot but I never heard of Waldameer. It is sad seeing all the old parks close or burn down.
That's good news if it isn't just an optimistic view. I live near Austin Texas now and most likely never would have seen the old park again, but it still brought me to tears knowing it may be gone forever.
I have some fond memories at that park. I think I rode the blue streak about 15 times in a row! Such a shame.. especially the dreamland ballroom fire.
Yep not a lot of the old parks left some just closed because of changing times and like Conneaut many have been destroyed by fire. This park was the last old time amusement park near Cleveland. What a shame!

That's great so many of the old parks are gone and it would have been a shame to see Conneaut join them. Thanks for the info.

Alright, mabye not as early as next year, but I can pretty much guarentee that the entire park will reopen sometime within the next 3 years.
