I frequently practice my banjo tunes on a ukulele. I tune it to the same interval as the banjo. I do this so I can sit in my car when I an crossing Puget Sound on the ferry. I just use that time to practice. I used to use my banjo, but I had to roll the window down. It is just too cold to so do in the winter,
Awesome song and technique! Sorry if you've answered this before, but did you make any customizations or upgrades to that Republic Reso, besides the Aquila strings?
this is so beautiful! What a good sound you make out of the ukulele. I love this song to play on fiddle. Yeeha. If you are ever in Brighton, England, come and play it somewhere and let me know :)
I've commented before....I love this song, it just grooves along. Any chance of a tutorial.....or is it really hard because it don't look easy! FANTASTIC!
just wondering how you like that uke compared to others you own...i am on the verge of a purchase and am considering the republic or a kala acacia...recommended either one?
I always enjoy this video very much, when I watch it - and I´ve watched it several time. I also enjoyed your clawhammer tutorial very much and I am practising, following it. Thank you very much.
YO MAN! I've watched this about 100 times and it hasn't gotten old! Thanks also for the clawhammer tutorial - I'm now a clawhammer addict! Do you have the tabs for this or know where I can find them by any chance?
am watching that clip over and over again. such an excellent job, man. unbelievable. thanks for your tutorial, too. seems i have a task now for the next weeks and months.
Just discovered clawhammer style, but I'm amazed at how much color and substance that it can give! The left hand part looks so simple, yet it sounds anything but. Great playing and singing, too
Your tutorials are really great! I started on clawhammer style this week and now I can't put my uke down. I posted a video response of a riff I just came up with. When I save up my cash I'm going to get one of your Bean Sprout banjoleles. I like that reso you play too.
Wow! I really love this. I'm about to start learning to play fiddle and came across this video while searching some bluegrass tunes. I just started playing uke about 3 months ago, and now I'm leaning clawhammer style. I had never heard of it. Thanks for the inspiration and the instructional video. I look forward to any future video's you do.
Really nice! Like a tiny orchestra with the percussion sound from the clawhammering and all. Is the uke amplified or does it ring like that unplugged?

When you play the 'full chord' (the di in the bumditty) do you most of the time play only the two bottom strings and only sometimes 3 or 4 strings?
Corneelist 10 months ago
@Corneelist Usually its just two strings, sometimes I do all four to get an accented, louder sound.
