Because the STUPID Pilot always uses the full throttle power for the A330 to takeoff. i can always see that in every video of D-AIKD has the trent 700 to full power. Every time when i see a takeoff video of D-AIKD, the pilot always use the 100% throttle power. why cant one day he tries the 90% or 95% throttle power of the trent 700. it would be much better.
My thoughts:They are rarely done. To be legal, the aircraft must be able to accelerate to V1(lift nosewheel) and stop before the runway end. If it cannot stop, it must be able to continue the takeoff on the remaining engine(s). B4 V1, engines idle, brakes and spoilers max. Reverse thrust is only used if all engines with reverse thrust are operative. In case of a twin, reverse thrust with one engine out would have the tendency to rotate the plane around it's longitudinal axis. Sources:A320 Pilot.
@LiLTMac123 it IS possible to stop after v1. v1 means that the plane has reached a critical airspeed and that it HAS to takeoff UNLESS there is adequate runway lenght left for it can stop safetly
@LiLTMac123 in theory you can reach rotation speed before v1 v1 is a legal barrier at which the crew are committed to the take off run Obviously if the aircraft is empty with a strong head wind on a long runway Vr will arrive pretty quickly V1 will be called before However its perfectly possible that a take off can be rejected after V1 if the jet is light and lots of runway remains but in practise this wouldn't occur except for a major structural failure :) not arguing with you, just adding info
Unbelievable how fast they stopped this massive bird down!

not possible to abort take off after v1, so im sure he wasnt near vr.
LiLTMac123 7 months ago 3
@LiLTMac123 Maybe V1 and Vr where at the same time, because of the long runway. And the other a330's had Vr at the place he rejected.

ich war an diesem tag in der maschine, war echt heftig...
der a330 ging nach miami und nicht nach chicago!

@luckystarstgt yes I found that out after i uploaded this video, do you know why it rejected its take-off?

@AviationDirectAir Could be because of birds.....00:35

Wieder mal ein verfluchter Starenschwarm !

Just for the record, Duesseldorf is EDDL - not EDLL... ;-)
But nice video. Still, all was safe - they had plenty of runway left, so they aborted way before decision speed.

Great Vid, not sure if i was a passenger on that plane, that i would enjoy the flight that much, after a RTO and a 3 hour wait on the plane!

sieht ganz entt aus ;) aber vieleicht wäre der bird strike doch spektakulerer geworden ,) ... ne , war bestimtm auch als passagier spannend :)

I think you can see a flock of birds at 0:35 right in front of the aircraft flying away
jowidon 1 year ago
@jowidon Yes there were a lot of birds that day, flying really low. Maybe that could be the reason for the rejection. Thanks for watching!
