  • Amazing detail in every scene. Even the scenes of the storm felt calm and serene because of the extraordinary detail. Thanks for this!

  • amazing!!! one of the best clips and soundtracks ever seen...

  • This is just beautiful

  • It totally captures the concept & emotion of the end of summer(life) & onset of winter(death). Am I reading too much into it?

  • Congratulations! A pretty work!

  • Beautiful film, but I would just like to know where all the people are

  • I really liked the look of it, though more-so of the inanimate objects.

  • awesome graphics, sound, story.. wauw!

  • This is a very beautiful and moving arrangement. I felt so sorry for the woman...losing your child is the worst thing in the world... :'( xx

  • Piękne

  • Vraiment impressionnant! Félicitation!

  • I hope someday regular people need just a computer and time to make HD animations

  • that was just breathtaking

  • that's so amazing :'( so beautiful. So amazingly well done... :')

  • @kprocker9 I agree

Hehe Geniale Animation! Sowas will ich eines Tages auch können! <3 Iwann werde ich das hinkriegen! Muahahaha

Kein Bock gerade auf Englisch zu schreiben... Sorry xD

  • i hate that feeling when u know a child was killed

  • Y'know what? I see 575 dislikes and 6649 likes. Thats about a 1/13 ratio. How come when I look through three pages of comments, I see NOTHING but praise? Men, grow a set and express your own f***ing opinion when you comment. Women, nobody likes it when you're secretive and backstabbing like that.

Most of us can respect the naysayers for not liking the video, however, nobody appreciates you pathetically push the 'dislike' button and make no expression whatsoever about what you mean.

  • @kyoko277 huh.. thats funny. when people do comment on how much they hate it, everyone screams for them to shut up and get off the page.when people don't comment, whiny bitches like you complain. the lesson, you can't please everyone. Far more people appreciate when people just hit "dislike" and move on, instead of spending their time arguing. so stop complaining

  • The story and representation was sublime, notably the animation of the body's face was far superior to nearly any other's; the only flaw I found, however, was in the overly quick transition from death to a bright sky. Keep it in mind, eh?

  • I'm lost for words. it's incredible - a wonderful story! normaly I don't like animation-movies, but this story is really god! Everyone here is looking for the meaning, that's how a story should be!! =)

  • simply BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • extrañamente bello

  • Este film es poesía, pura poesía. Imágenes y situaciones misteriosas, simples, intrigantes, sutiles y bellas. Felicitaciones. Ricardo, de Argentina

  • sad :(

  • amazing

  • whats the name of the song in the end of the film???

    its wonderful!

  • It was... so nice!

  • She could have picked a more painless way to go; personally being dashed against rocks and drowned isn't my idea of peace, but each to their own. Great video otherwise, though - Nice message :)

  • all gone now... :-(

  • Nice work. I was really drawn into the emotional aspect of the film.

  • someone who died were angry because she/he didn't want her mother to cry, also showed that she/he was alive and his life was as beautiful as the end of the video

  • Not Bad. I like this Video

  • 3:31 and 4:17, where's da blood on her face??

  • @ilovevietnam1990 If you actually paid attention, she got hit in the face by something!!

  • this make me even ctry :(

  • Great job

  • This was truly amazing,...so much emotion and i think what makes it beautiful are the metophorical aspects. very well done

  • začátek školy xDDDD

  • Just beautiful

  • superb

  • Nice...

  • i want an extended version of the end piano piece

  • the song at the credits reminded me of something from spirited away

  • It's really great, I loved the atmo and all the textures are so delicated. The woman expression is always so UxD well can explain it hahaha

    Congrats!

  • Art

  • its simply meen..people dead then new people birth..like every end of summer new leaves come and old leaves dead..and also in stroms new leave also dead cause of stromes...like she was miss his child but he died in young age like some .accident..new leaves also dead cause for stroms......

  • I remember when this got featured a few years ago (before Shane Dawson and his like took over).

I always thought it was beautiful, even without looking for meaning. The storm was brilliant and breathtaking.

It still gives me chills to watch...

  • that was trully amazing. I like many others would love to see more. Thank you,

  • The storm symbolizes the woman's inner strife at losing her child. The tree represents her deep connection to this place where her child died. Throughout the story, she slowly decides that she wants to die in order to be reunited with her lost child. At the end, she smiles peacefully, finally at rest with death. The petals at the end symbolize the peace that has returned after the storm.

  • @swirlytwirls Great analysis of the video! I couldn't have said it any better.

  • @swirlytwirls well i have a different point of view here, just sayin. The women is dead and doesn't want to leave this place even though all the people have evacuated from thw storm. The teddy bear was left from her child at her grave. She has a deep connection to this place cuz she's been their her whole life. The tree represents her because she was the only one who stayed, thus the tree is intact because of the love of this place.

  • @swirlytwirls wow thanks

  • @swirlytwirls

Thank you for your comment. Now it makes sense. I really liked this cartoon

  • Holy. Crap. That. Was. Amazing.

  • The ending has some mortal hope. Many and most of the leaves(people) can take a fierce storm(trauma) and stay on the tree (middle age) for us to admire.

  • This girl is one of the first to leave(sorry pun) the tree (life.)

I really admire the imagery, sounds, and excellent craftsmanship.

It is sad, yet beautiful and peaceful.

The petals/leaves being reflected in the water remind me of my poem (Momentary Eternity.) There is a quiet passion in the water reflecting your image.

The passion or allure of the ethereal(divine) can be so inviting to jump into completely(suicide.he ending

  • A First Leaf:

You can see the beauty/color/dance in someone's life (no matter their "real" age) like a vibrant summer leaf turned to its' fall colors ready and letting go of its' tree and floating to Earth.

  • que triste historia cuanta desolación.

  • Wow. Beautiful.

  • so pretty.

  • tres tres bien. merci ... :)

  • i have an only word beutiful !!!

  • En ne prononçant aucun parole ,l'image et la musique font entièrement ressentir la douleur de cette jeune femme....

  • beautiful!!!

  • i think the tree resembles her...they both stayed.

she didnt see the point in living without her baby.

  • Very beautiful. Only her hair were unnaturally still when comparing with the wind. And her walk could be easier, she's a woman... But the idea is perfect. I wish I could watch the history before...

  • Congratulations your Short Film has been chosen to be a part of a Facebook group about short animated films. If you wish to not have your video uploaded please let us know and we will respect your wishes

    Thank you

    so intense, i love it.

  • I love it, full of emotion

    impressive animation, lighting & texture

  • I am surprised that animations can evoke such strong emotions! Superbly done.

  • beautiful work :)

  • Beautiful, and sad, but I'm surprised the tree kept its leaves on, after a storm where houses were torn apart, and lightpoles came flying off...

    P: I understand it's for the petal-effect though, so great job! :)

  • I loved how you showed her feelings with simply face expressions but still kept it mysterious so you can imagine what happened for yourself :)

    Great job!

  • Fantastic! I love it!

  • muy impresionante y muy buen efecto de soledad y busqueda en esa trancision en que quedfamos a la espera der algo muy grande ...

    felicitaciones ...

  • No tengo palabras o_o

  • Just WOW is the best to say. Great Job, With the endscene and the music and all...perfect!!

  • amazing good job!!!

  • bellissimo, molto iperrealistico

  • wow. just wow.

  • It's so... sad... =(

  • The best short film I have ever seen.

  • i interpreted this as that the tree in the cemetary represented her soul. everyone in the town left and her strong will kept her there. she left her self to die at the hands of natyre and therefore the tree( a part of nature) relesed her sould in a beutiful way around the town...

  • very interesting interpretation - made me look at this from a different perspective :)

  • I think she simply did not want to leave her child.. even if he/she died a long time ago. Life does not mean much after that for a parent. :(

  • Agree... which parent would want to live on without their child... It's hard, cruel and very very heart breaking indeed... That smile on her face before the waves hit her... Just shows how a parent would feel. The child is everything for a good parent.

  • @sternkern yes... it doesn't

i lost my little brother 2years ago and it is the same as the day he died... my parents are alive just for me :( and i just for them, every day is pain

  • @sternkern Same here

  • thanks

  • impressive

    good work!

  • nicze

  • That was a thrilling experience and woah, what a brave woman! :- )

  • wow, such powerful emotions

  • I love how this transcends animation. Its not the best graphics, but its given such an incredible feel that it really haunts you.

  • I really am not sure how to react to this. It was just so..beautiful. It set over me this peace. It's hard to describe. The music was absolutely perfect and help create the overall mood. The lact of dialogue was perfect. It didn't really even need it. The music helped scream it out. Overall, it was just amazing. Left me speechless.

  • Great job! The modeling was very impressive and the animation was superb. I especially like your use of shadow and color...it really added to the atmosphere.

  • Fine atmosphere~~~*

  • i watch youtube just for fun but i really enjoyed this like a real cinema movie, great work :)

  • great mood, loved it. the breathing was great animation....the wide shot where she is at the end of the pier is very dramatic, great impact. touching film! my compliments to the music too.

  • awesome ambient ans scenographi, but the girl seems like plastic girl!

  • great animation, great breath simulation and shaders very good model (except from the hair which i didn't really like) but the story was elliptical. Anyway very good one.. : )

  • Well done, but... if the feeling is what you emphasize, you end up in making a terrible kitsch, like this one. Storyline is not that important in short films, what counts is the punch line at the end.

  • The story is what you make of it.

My thoughts on the matter are simple. She's grieving and alone. The storm represents hard times in her life. Yet, the storm clears and only helps the tree grow. The tree is her life. She grows stronger because of the storm, because of the tears both she and the clouds shed, and both the tree and its surrounding become more beautiful than ever.

  • moving.

  • excellent

  • nice music, beautiful renderings, I don't know what the point was?

  • the point? um, how about, loss of loved one, end of summer's warmth, tossed by the whim of circumstance (storm), isolation, and a flaming tree giving it's last vibrance before winter. Not everything has to be formulaic, re; good guy - antagonist - conflict - resolution, it's just a piece that evokes many potential interpretations.

  • @xenoprobe1111 I understand that is has to be interpreted, but just to me every time I watched it, I took something else from it- a different interpretation that it left me to just have a firm interpretation of it. Maybe we aren't supposed to have a firm interpretation.

  • The point is that even if there is a lot of peace and beauty around us ...the pain inside can be too much.

(her loved one died)...she died too but life goes on...

This is the way I see it Mendez WTF.

  • Despite what happens to the woman at the end, this was so delicately told. I love the expressions on the woman's face, I almost know what she's thinking... very beautiful film.

  • Okay so I love this and all and have watched it several times over a span of 2 years. But I have never been able to fully understand the story. Is it that the city is abandoned because of the storm that is coming, so the lady stays because her son is buried there?

  • agreed... wtf is going on?

  • The point is that even if we are surround by a peaceful & beautiful place the pain inside can be too much.

She lost her loved one...so she commit suicide but letting herself go....but the tree at the end show that life goes on. That's the way I interpret it.

  • speechless......

  • hope to creat one day stories and world like author of this movie... very touching movie... to be true... story isnt really original but its well done... short beautiful story... really beautiful world that You create... i like that.. really really

  • the scenery and the rendering of the water was amazing

  • wow, thats amazing. beautiful soundtrack too!

  • wow im not sure what it is about but i really liked it

  • Great movie, it caught my mind and heart, shivers went sent through my spine and also i felt a sigh of happyness

  • I like the tree in the end,

    beautiful!!!

  • FIN DEL VERANO

  • pffffffffffffff, Bravo!!! Bravo!!!

  • the detail put into her clavicles when she breaths is amazing.

  • very good.

  • So beautiful ... I can´t find a better word for this perfect movie!!!

  • man this looks very good, how long didt your work on it?

  • look at the desription (oder wie des ding da auf englisch hoißt)
