I actually lived in Lasalgaon for about 11 years. We lived not far from the railway tracks and could see all the trains that passed by. When Panchavati express first started its run from Mumbai to Manmad we would stay up late to see the brightly lit double decker train go by at about 10:30 and it was beautiful. Thanks for this video, it brings back so many memories.
@solman3791 Glad you enjoyed it! You are the first person from Lasalgaon with whom I have had a conversation :-) So, when did you live there? I still remember the Panchavati during the original days with a nice cream-navy blue livery and a huge round sign with PANCHAVATI written on it.
Wow!! it is a fantastic video, where did you get it from? Truly Amazing, though the train looks kind of old, but it is truly very rare to see this kinds of trains in India, could you please tell me something about its route and destinations, I am very curious, extremely well done, keep it up
This is from my own collection. I started taking videos in July 1992 and have been doing it ever since! This train goes between Manmad and Mumbai. It no longer has double-decker coaches.
Double Decker trains in India existed from the eighties. I have travelled on the train from Madras to Bangalore. One of the busiest routes on one such train when I was a kid.
Never knew that the Panchavati ran with double decker coaches.
