I have hunted with the Devon Hunt a few times, I am from the States,The hunt protects the Countryside way of life. Lambs and chickens, all are fox bait. Antis know nothing of the Country Life. They need to get a life and keep their laws and hands out of the Countryside. Let the Country Folk live the life they want to lead, without your brazen interference. I dont understand why working-class people follow and assist foxhunters. These people are perpetuating centuries old inequalities, are authoritarian and must see themselves as inferior to those who ride at the hunt.

i don't think i'd have a problem shooting a fox. they have pretty fur when it's not too wiry and my cousins say i'm a really good shot. i would like to have a little fox stole, but i want it to be very reddish or at least orange. maybe for Christmas :)

Um in some places it IS legal.
I'm not a fan of hunting, BUT people have a right to do what they want as long as it's legal, and it IS a sport in some places.

They dress like that because the red coats stand out against the back drop making it easier to be seen by the followers. There is also the historical reason for them being used in the first place, many men in the army hunted as the means of enjoyment and fitness.They remained in their 'red coats' and as it was useful it stuck. It is a smart event, much like watching the races, and wearing the appropriate attire is a sign of respect.

The difference between right and wrong is never clear as glass. We do not kill for enjoyment but to control the population in the countryside, it is no difference to repairing stone walls or laying hedges. For the record it is the landowners and farmers that DO own the countryside. Most of them have chosen to allow hounds to control pests on their land. But what about the men in brown coats, farmers packs and beagles? Or are they the just the cost of class warfare.

I also love hunting. I love our hounds - I love all foxes as well! My horse runs onto the trailer ever Sunday in the winter. Our hunt votes to protect land from being over developed. We love this country and we want to keep the tradition alive.
