Like metalguitarist said, it's a music man, and what are these characteristics you speak of? Music Man guitars and bass are easily identifiable by their headstock. Yamaha's are about the same shape, but are slightly pointier at the tip of the head...

the bridge is not a musicman bridge. the headstock is not 4+1 which is what musicman 5 string basses have. The headstock is what makes me think it's a yamaha. What musicman uses a 4 knob configuration (2+2 instead of 4 in a line) like on this bass? Show me a musicman that has soapbar pickups.

Do you happen to have a tab for it? All the notes are correct, although you use really weird positions. You got all the needed notes over less than 6 frets, I don't see a reason to go as far as after the 12th fret.
