  • weezy f baby before he was reincarnated?

  • MY RESPECT FOR HIM .......what a wonderful song !!!my GOD!!

  • Is it still Rap even if it don't contain the words: "Bitches, fuck, dough, dope and similar?" :P

  • this is right time being that louis influenced all music forms and plus he smoked weed.

  • This is sick! Great job

  • Louis Armstrong was one the greatest musicians on the 20th century. What a performer!

  • The True God Of Hip-Hop And All This Time I Thought "Rapper's Delight" By The SugarHill Gang Was The Birth Of Hip-Hop.

  • is it a hornet, he`s playing in the video or what?

  • 1st rapper ever.

  • Personally I blame the brain drain

  • clubzclark1- Enclosed please find a clue

  • Where can the original video be found?

  • This actually isn't too far off from Sugarhill's stuff

  • It was called "skat" back then, but yes, it was the ancestor of rap. He has that distinction.

  • Well blow me down! The world's first rapper was the best ever!

  • this is technically poetry. but the beat makes it rap. haha =P

  • GREAT!

  • The first Rap song about the blues and not Sex...

  • gr8t idea!

  • I don't much care for rap, love Louis, and really, really, liked this.

    When something swings, it swings.

Brilliantly conceived and executed, my compliments.

  • 6 people are racist

  • @noodlesthebunny is it so? FUCK 'EM! I'm sad and ashamed that I'm a white romanian guy!

  • haters gonna hate. this shit is dope.

anyone who knows anything about louis knows that he would embrace the hell out if this as well.

  • i like it with the beat

  • I don't like rap, I love old Pops, and this video was very well done. Don't listen to anyone who says you messed up something good. I think you kept to the spirit of it very well. Good job!

  • Shit... he's actually rapping.

  • @neon854

    'Course he is.

Except for classical music, there ain't no note you can hear on the radio, in any style, that can't be traced, ultimately, back to him.

Louis is the Root of EVERYTHING.

  • sacreligious treatment of great music

  • @hadoenough wise up man! If you knew anything about the 2 music genres you are listening to, you would know that they are one and the same, in that they spring from they same source, The Black ethos (if you can understand that) in America music. Jazz, in all of its transmutations, was to America then, what Hip Hop was and is to America today. It is not sacrilegious to demonstrate what these 2 great genres have in common! It is meant to be instructive and encourage you to have a more open mind!

  • nice job son!

  • haha this is pretty good man. good job

  • Okay, I almost posted something rude. But, I'll just say that this video, while not my cuppa, is a pretty clever editing job.

    ...blasphemy!...

  • Wow this is hilarious, I am a huge Jazz/rap fan so this is a real treat :)

  • Louis was still playing cornet, hadn't yet switched to trumpet.

  • @impCaesarAvg No he had switched over 20 years before this to play trumpet. He just used a cornet in this to make it be more historically acurate.

  • Loved it !

  • how is this crap its dope :)

    good job on this

  • Awesom, this inspiring

  • What a joke. Louis Armstrong had more talent in his snot, then all the rapp singers in the world put together.

  • it's a bit of fun there, fella

  • @frostytheaussie I must abmit you are right. Even though I do not like the viideo, I must say looking back, I was way too serious.

  • that's the spirit!

  • I love Louis, and I enjoyed this, good work man.

  • i really enjoyed that.

i think its cool idea to sample louis armstrong over a hip hop beat. i think it works well. obviously this video is just a rough draft. either way i liked it.

  • go to youtube Eng.search type in my password mrbuddydog1 and you will see the best impersonator of Louis out there. And that's me. check me out I think you will get a kick out of it.

  • Its not really rap is it? All you've done is put a backing track over Louis speech. Would you catagorise musicals as rap? Its the same principal.

Good idea but i dont think it is rap per se.

  • I apologize for some of the ignorant comments made by uptight jazz purists.

    Your work is excellent....extremely enjoyable!

I love seeing music recycled like this.

Have you ever thought of linking this to the original scene so everyone could see how much work went into this!?

  • There are no real lines dividing genres and sub-genre of music... even Slim Gaillard, who is attributed with really creating freestyle, cut some rap songs in the 90s. This was pretty well done, considering it took a lesser known Amstrong song and made it fresh. I like it.

  • you've done a pretty good job there, I found it entertaining

  • ILL

  • you twats CMWangs is right as hell.

I do agree that categorizing music isnt suitable in most cases, but wtf you just took something and demolished it with a beat.

its not sampling, and it isnt music either, thats just crap, you took something fun and good and ruined it.

and im saying it though i like rap and i like jazz as well, ---- i just love music, and this isnt rap or music, thats crap , and you all who claim its not are crappers.

  • if u love music so much, u should at least give the dude credit for trying. i agree it's the not greatest thing, but i give props for givin it a shot... especially with the knowledge there are hypercritical (spelling intended) people out there just waiting to put down someone's work

  • he didnt try.

trying is working your ass off and learning all the time.

his "trying" worth nothing since this lazy sob just crapped on one of the world marvels.

music isnt a toy, its a science, and what you *and many other sobs* did is BS.

  • And music is not a science, it is an art, sale petit imbecile; but maybe should I send u the wictionary link?

  • and who the fuck are you to tell that This is music and This is crap. You can express the fact that you don't like it. But pleaze, Mr I-do-criticize, show me your musical works.

  • Armstrong smoked more blunts then biggie and pac combined

  • @callmitony that is true.

  • i enjoyed it. i don't care what nobody says.

  • yo thanx for postin this what is the origonal called someone help me

  • Dixie Music man

  • thnx man !!u inspired me,im gonna have a go at doin it too.dont know why people are botherd by it,when people sample some songs it brings it back to life and brings it to a new set of ears who might not have heard of the song before. sometimes they wanna find the origonal like mee!!what im tryin to say is that in a way ....it keeps the music alive??

  • @dngcat Where the Blues was born in New Orleans

  • What is so amazing ?? ALL music has a beat (It's written right there on the staff). What's really amazing is that some one who is supposed to appreciate Louis doesn't differentiate between someone shouting talking or non-melodic chanting and Louis singing.

By the way you can play a rythm track over grand opera-Doesn't make it rap.

  • Loosen up dude.. it's all in the fun.

  • your right that cmwangs idiot needs to calm down i thought it was funny. i saw james brown and muhammed ali rapping too

  • cmwangs2005...ur a twat. Its called "music" Open your ears- you may enjoy what your hearing...its great people dont stick so tightly to genres - and try new things - I'd hate to live in your boring world.

by the way you can play rythym track over a grand opera... its called sampling.and guess what- its also called 'rap'...its been done before and people will do it again

    get used to it.

  • @CMWangs2005 Ha! You must not be hearing what I'm hearing. Yes, he is singing. The same way that Snoop Dogg or Eminem might do it. There is still a melody to a rap song. And it DOES take an equal amount of talent to do this, as that of somebody singng Nat or Frank. It's pretty obvious that you(just like so many other close minded fools) don't have much of an ear. Otherwise you would hear the current day hiphop melody that's being sung by Armstrong. So open your fuckin ears and enjoy

  • this is very funny

  • yeah that was cool

  • Good Job!! That was so dope.

  • The irony of this is that the music that the beat was created over was actually the song "Dixie Music Man."

  • mmm... don't really see the irony in that. pls explain.

  • He's saying how you can't be better than a Dixieland musician, and you turned it into a rap, but it worked out better.

  • lol.. nice

    I apologize, I'm kinda slow.

  • That said, I hate rap, and I love Dixieland.

  • well I appreciate all genres of music.

  • Very very good. I love it. Someone on MySpace did a rap of Satchmo singing "Baby, it's cold outside" but it was not nearly as good as this.

  • cool,thumbs up :)

  • this is from the film new orleans 1947.

  • thats tight!!

  • it's from new orleans? (1947) ?

  • where is the original clip from? this is ill btw

  • LOL.....that's cool

  • what's this from?

  • WOW!!!, This is the first rap, so vanilla ice was'nt the first.

  • you thought Vanilla Ice was the first to rap???

  • that was cool

  • thats awsome...lol
