Take the Unholy Confessions for example, the main riff is awesome as it is, but when they play it harmonized it sounds like total cheese and remainds me exactly why i hate metalcore.
I don't like their first two albums at all. The solo's to Bat Country and Beast and the Harlot are incredible though. Trashed and Scattered is pretty good too. He uses chromatic's astoundingly well for the genre he plays in. Idk, its all subjective. I could also bring up Jim Root/Mick Thompson. They've made some great riff's. Slash should be mentioned, i just forgot about him.
Before I Forget? The Blister Exists? Psychosocial? Dead Memories? They have some amazing riff's. Their old stuff was all the same thing but they're way better now.

The thing about syn is that he's all about shredding as fast as he can in his solos. It loses the real feel for the song. Dan sticks to the vibe of the music and doesn't show off. To me that's what differentiates a good guitarist from a great one.

they are very different. i can't say who's actually better...synyster is great at alternate picking and he's good at sweeping, but he can get sloppy live. this song is the first time i've heard dan sweep in a solo (correct me if i'm wrong please, i don't listen to disturbed a whole lot.) but dan's compositions are insanely cool sounding haha. and yes, both of them do rock :).

i truly hope u dont mean that. he is far from the best. check out (and these are just mainstream) Michael angelo batio, dimebag darrell, HENDRIX the god, eddie van fucken halen (another god), even kirk is better than him. i do like him but i show my respect for much better guitarists! and just to say this again. THERE IS NO BEST GUITARIST!!! there never will be a best guitarist. they're each unique in their own styles.

Dan is such an underestimated guitarist people need to realize how good he really is.Disturbed never used to do many solos and when they do the solos have so much feel and are awesome.
