If you think about, Mcgrady is a better three point shooter than Kobe Bryant overall. Just one breakout game with 12 threes doesn't mean Kobe's a better shooter. Mcgrady was also 8/9 in one half against the Cavs equaling Kobes record for a half. Not to mention Mcgrady's four three pointers against the Spurs in 13 seconds which was just incredible. There is a difference between losing and being destroyed.
The Mavs lost by 4 to the Suns in overtime when they were eliminated by the #1 seed in Game 6. There's no shame in that.
The Rockets lost by FORTY. A Game 7 record!
Besides, the Mavs got revenge on the Suns the very next year. I have Game 6 of that series on DVD and will cherish that one forever as well.

10-8 since the Kidd trade, horrible..... wins against a bunch of cellar dwellars... Clippers, Heat, Pacers, Bobcats, Knicks, Nets, Kings, Bulls, Wolves, & Grizzlies... and all the losses were to quality playoff teams....

You can't lose all the close games forever. They were all close, except New Orleans (first game after trade) and Houston (Dirkless). I still maintain Dallas would have won convincingly had Dirk not been unjustly suspended.
In Game 7, who owned the Rockets? Devin Harris? No, he played 4 minutes and scored 2 points. Nowitzki, Howard, and Terry combined for 66 points on over 50% shooting. The Rocket murderers are still wearing Dallas blue; adding Kidd should be no problem.

it was even more hilarious that the mavericks, a number 1 seed, lost to an 8th seed in the golden state warriors that same year LOL. what's so sad about that is that the mavericks had a chance to eliminate them out of the final spot in one of the last games of the season but they decided to rest their starters. big mistake as we all found out...
