  • GIRUGAMESH!

  • GILGAMESH!!!! This song is so exciting

  • Ahh.. FFV had some fucking great battle music. 16bit gold.

  • what i'm i suposed to se in the pic i don't understand

  • @inahapa That is Gilgamesh

  • must be n°1 of the top 100 ;)

  • This song = Eargasm.

    XD

  • 7 dislikes? CMON!! REALLY?!

  • I remember playing FFV on Zsnes and this and the exdeath song are my favs <3

  • This is like, "GILGAMESH'S COMINGGGGGGGGGGGG GRUUHH, PREPARE YOURSELF BARTZ"

  • Yeah ! A big thumbs up for Clash on the Big Bridge ^^

  • I forgot that i still haven't finished this one.

  • Wicked as all hell... anyone hear The Black Mages cover of this? *splooge*

  • Let's fight like men!And women! And women who dress like men! For Gilgamesh...IT'S MORPHING TIME!!!!

  • @MakenshiTsuki Stop putting that fucking quote on all the "GILGAMESH RELATED" Videos! FUCK I'm getting sick of it.

  • @SkyGuyXD hey, it's Gligamesh's trademark quote. sure, a little overused, but still, an awesome quote.

  • @SkyGuyXD I've put it oly here,but if i have put it elsewhere i didn't remember,sorry about that

  • @MakenshiTsuki You forgot the best part of that quote, "Enough expository banter!"

  • ffxii verson of this also kicks ass

  • 6 was a brilliant masterpiece given its time period. And while all the other FF games were good in their own way, the need to make something more grand in games from the PS and beyond just took down the series a notch.

  • GILGAMESH! BEST VILLAIN EVER LOLOL OH GILGAMESH WHY WONT YOU STAY AND HANG OUT . WHY WON'T YOU EVER STAY?

  • OMYGODTHISMUSICISFUCKINAWESOME :D

Better than the ff12 version, I think =x

Anyway, look for clash on the big bridge by the black mages, it owns :D

  • --> B_-HKoUO9ow

  • *Takes out excalibur*

    Me:OH SNAP

    *Actually excalipur*

    Me:LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • I was wrong, I cannot fight four people...

(casts Haste, Shell and Safe on himself, then jumps)

HA! Did you really believe me?

  • Battle of the Bridge FTW!!!

  • everyone talks about one final fantasy being superior to the others. To be honest: Are you that crazy? FF in general is an awesome series, and that's it. As my predecessor spacesex101 said, all of them are good. So stop complain and just listen!

  • Hasta la bye-bye! Poor Gilgamesh mistakes cheap Excalipoor for legendary Excalibur! I like his klutziness!

  • if this song is to be renew in orchestra it shud be awesome

  • I love it how people thinks one Final Fnatasy is better then the other when really... all of them are good!

  • @spacesex101 Except 13. The story was soo weak in that one.

  • @HellBreak777 totally agree. other than that, every other ff game was good

  • @spacesex101

Still the old ones are better

  • @spacesex101 i would say that before XII and after that comes out :D

  • @spacesex101 just wish some of them connected. I know they said there's some odd connections to VII and X... but it's weird. Something should connects to FF VI and all will be well lol

  • @silfocus84

    Some say this happens...

    II=IV=VII=X

    III=VI

    V=IX

    Makes no sense...

  • @SuperYoshi1141 Hahah true, i think its funny. and really it is simple to know what the numbers are.

  • @silfocus84 There's absolutely ZERO connections to VII and X. The only FF game that has any ounce of connections would be "IX" since the entire game is littered with references to older FF games.

  • @silfocus84 @Wheelio The only connections that I know of are the direct sequels like the After Years directly after FF4; Gilgamesh appearing all over the place in the series, and the connection of FF12 and FFT; otherwise, it's ironically been an RPG series that only shares similiar plot points through the series (rebel factions, the elemental crystals, etc), despite having the same name separated by a number. The only connection I know relating FF6 is the repeated mention of Espers

  • @Quez256 Most of the Final Fantasies are unrelated to one another. If there are sequels, they usually titled: Final Fantasy [Title #] - [Sequel #] or Final Fantasy [Title #]: [Catchy Title]. Moogles, Cids, Esper names, etc. are more accurately called conventions than signs of all the games being related by plot. The "Tales of..." series is similar in this approach.

As for Gilgamesh, From what I understand he travels through the dimensions as a result of being cast into Mu by Exdeath in FFV.

  • @TheShadonyx ahh, right, that detail about Gilgamesh eluded me when I posted that reply, thanks for the reminding me =)

And yeah, the Cid gimmick is true as well.

  • @Quez256

Also Square stated that FF X and FF VII are related, with, if I can recall right, FF X being prequel to FF VII. Talk about confusing shit with that timetravelling going around anyway.

  • @Armetti @Armetti Yeah, I remember hearing that about FFX and FFVII too. GameFAQs has a post about it if you google "FFX and FFVII" - 5th link down.

  • @spacesex101 you are so right, sqaure needs to try to grasps the old days of Final Fantasy though, i love all their games but they should make a Final Fantasy, modern graphics, all carachters, and make it 3d

  • @spacesex101 I agree

  • Very good choice. You heard the Black Mages re-do of it? it's freaking awesome

  • I remember me fighting all the way in the bridge, and them finding Gilgamesh, and he even talks in the Battle.

Didnt thought it would be classified #8, but, it's a good music anyway

  • yes.. no im agreein to the negative votes..

its a bit of silly track..

    but i vote +

  • GILGAMESH (Y)

  • "Enough expository banter. It's time we fight like men. And ladies. And ladies who dress like men. For Gilgamesh... IT IS MORPHING TIME!"

    That qoute is so AWESOME!

  • @Xotser Oh God I have stitches in my stomach. I forgot about that. haha

  • I personally thought FFV was a very fun game! I had alot more fun with it than I did FFIV, that's just a personal opinion! My top five favorite final fantasies would have to be (in no particular order) FFVI, FFIX, FFV, FFVII, FFX. I also love the original NES version of FFIII, not the DS port.

  • I wonder how many of you even know what Gilgamesh is famous for in the old legends. No, Final Fantasy did not create Gilgamesh, but I will admit it is a really humorous twist on his legend.

  • @darkfire158 It's been a long while since I read the Epic of Gilgamesh, but if my memory serves wasn't he journeying to find a way to resurrect his brother in arms who died? As my memory serves, wasn't this friends name also the name of Gilgy's hound, Enkidu?

  • this is fire cross ????!!!!

  • final fantasy 3 was the worst in my opinion...shitty music, gameplay, and story

  • i first heard this in the Dissdia FF... I liked it >.>

  • the ffxii better in my opinnion :P but ur music ur list :).. gilgamesh is a frigging god! travelling to the most games... the DEVs jsut happen to run short on ideas what kinda boss to make... (jsut kidding :D but might be true) imagine this to happen...tifa doing the same thing running into dimensions n pop up in ff ii as a boss...(note if that had happen its most likely u to screm wtf! n... 99% would kick ur ass :P)

  • I wasn't really into Final Fantasy V until I heard this song while on the Big Bridge. I then could never forget the game. Uematsu is a damned genius!

  • GIRUGAMESH!

  • GILGAMESH!!!!!

  • If you got a good sword, avoid for the clumsy swordsman! Gilgamesh! o.o

  • I like the intro.

  • Alongside VIII, I consider V to be one of the most underrated installments in the series.

  • This theme played by the Black Mages themselves is AWESOME ! :)

  • bloody gilgamesh with his awesome music

  • beat 5 million times but 6 is the best sabin edgar shadow and cyan are epic fuck emo cloud fan boys

  • The Black Mages version really kicks ass.

  • GILGAMESH!

  • cool

  • FUCK YES! Battle on the big bridge is the BEST of pretty much ALL FRIGGIN TIME!

  • Gilgamesh MUST have an own game!! Or at least become an party member!!

I mean COME ON!! Gilgamesh is totally EPIC F**KING WIN!!!! :D

  • As much as I agree, it's a sad fact that SE does what will make them money and sadly I can't see a Gilgamesh spinoff doing well. Blame the New-gen fans for hating the SNES era.

  • lawl @ Excalipur XD

  • Gilgamesh pwns xD

  • Gilgamesh XD

  • I came on 0:01

  • ^This xD

  • Oh man, this is top 5 material, how could you make this #8? Q_Q

  • If I could I would put Final Fantasy V in like the Top 5 final fantasy games but i don't think it was the best compared to final fantasy VI and Final Fantasy Tactics for playstation

  • GILGAMESH! Great game i'm glad to see this so high on the list

  • I love those little drum beats after 0:33

  • Why are you all talking about goddamn FFVIII? THIS IS A FFV VIDEO. FFV's better than all the other FF's anyway.

  • @MrMinkStar

Really? Because if so we really got the raw deal vack when it was a Japan-only release, didn't we?

  • @killifish2000

Well, from a gameplay perspective for me it's easily the funnest of the series. It definitely doesn't have the best plot, and the music's relatively weak (with the exception of this kickass song). But the gameplay easily makes up for those flaws.

And yes, YOU may have had the raw deal with not getting FFV, but I got the raw deal when NONE of the FF games were released here (Australia) until the Playstation (Which is a console I didn't own).

  • @MrMinkStar

Well I can't claim to be an RPG gamer of yore, but I'm pretty ashamed that I didn't know about FF1-6 not coming to my country. Does that include the rest of the PAL region as well?

  • @killifish2000

Yes, it does. Europe as well. And we didn't get Chrono Trigger at all until it's recent DS remake.

  • @MrMinkStar

Son of a bitch! Were SNES games region locked?

  • @killifish2000

NTSC cartridges are differently shaped to our PAL cartridges, and won't fit into our SNES's, but I think if you managed to mess with your SNES to fit them they will play because if I recall correctly, the only real difference is the shape, not the content. However, if you managed to get your hands on a NTSC - PAL converter, you could play NTSC games on your SNES without modding it or anything.

  • @MrMinkStar

I guess that's not so bad, but it was still keeping Final Fantasy from being exposed to the PAL market.

If Final Fantasy was considered niche enough not to be financially worth releasing in Europe/Australia back then, that really puts a damper on the question of whether Tales of Graces will ever make it here. Imma go worry now.

  • @killifish2000

It's funny though, we don't get Final Fantasy, a hugely succesful RPG series, yet we do get the Lufia series, a not very succesful (yet vastly superior) RPG game for the SNES. We also get Terranigma, another vastly underappreciated game. Nintendo is very odd when it comes to regions and all that jazz, their very inconsistent. I still love them though.

  • @MrMinkStar i agree 5 and 10 r my favs.

  • @MrMinkStar Yea, cause the game is really deep, i still play ffv advance!

  • @MrMinkStar Thats not true.

  • @123UlquiorraIsMe1 Well the 9 thumbs up I have seem to disagree with you.

  • @MrMinkStar If thats all you have is nine thumbs up then there cant be that many that agree with you.

  • @123UlquiorraIsMe1

9 thumbs up opposed to what, the one thumbs down you gave me? Obviously there are more people who agree with me than disagree.

  • @MrMinkStar Maybe some people just dont want to even comment cause yours is incorrect and more of an opinion rather than a fact

  • @MrMinkStar i wouldnt say V is the best though

  • @NY1love Character wise, Galuf's death > any hero deaths from FF1-FF7. (including Aeris's death, yes)

  • @tubebandito

    no

  • @catbuffalo You are entitled to your meager opinion. :p

  • @MrMinkStar

Because Gilgamesh made an epic reappearance in VIII if you did the Odin sidequest before a certain time

  • @MrMinkStar FF5 was the least memorable of all of the Final Fantasy games imo. FFIV is where it's at.

  • @MrMinkStar man i hate when we say ffv is the best of all final fantasys or final fantasy7 9 i dont care i wish we just enjoy the great works the final fantasy people worked hard to make people happy and enjoy a whole series of great final fantasys fighting about it doesnt do anything but make things worse

  • @Diablokiller3 I agree with you -nods-

  • @MrMinkStar

    after FF6... and FF4... and FF7... and FF9...

  • @RadiantTheLight Dude, the fact that my comment is still the highest rated after 7 months shows alot of people agree that it's the best. Or maybe it's just cause it's a freaking FFV video, who knows. I'm really wishing it wasn't top rated though, everyone keeps freaking replying to it, even after 7 months...

  • @MrMinkStar

    oh... sorry

  • @MrMinkStar oh, the price of fame...

  • @MrMinkStar I agreed with your comment up to the last sentence. Then I thought that it was uncalled for.

  • @MrMinkStar i'm absolutely not agree with you FF5 has indeed great qualities especially its battle system the greatest ff battle system but the history is really classical and characters are not very charismatic at the opposite of FF6 ;-)

  • @MrMinkStar haha ur a joker!

  • @MrMinkStar Ermmmmm, nope... Sorry.

Gameplay was rad: seriously, my favourite system, I think.

Character and story wise, though...? Not so much. It was really lacking there.

Now, 6 had some excellent characters; as did 9 and 12.

  • @emazinglyemi Balthier was the only good thing in XII.

  • @SkyGuyXD I agree. That and Fran's ass xD

  • @Aznos Aww hell yeah, you know what im talking about.

  • @MrMinkStar ppl can talk about whatever they want to.

  • Yay! I love this theme!

  • Zell and Squall were awesome.

Squall's brooding attitude in the beginning is well fitted, and it's interesting watching his personality change as the story progresses, as he gets to know Rinoa more. Ergo, realistic.

Zell was the male opposite of Squall, upbeat but quick to anger. He also provided some fun banter between himself and Seifer.

The love story in VIII is endearing, and is widely regarded as the most touching in a game.

  • I liked final fantasy VIII, and I guess we like games for different reasons. Like...if it was NOT a final fantasy game, you'd probably think it was great.

I actually liked the GF system a bit, and enjoyed customizing them with amnesia greens and scrolls to give every character every skill (save a Hit-J scroll on Squall).

Maybe I'm just weird. I thought VIII was better than X even though X started voices and everyone seemed to have a boner for Auron except me.

  • same i loved ff7/8/9 way more then 10 or any other ff game

  • @Khadaj32 interesting love story......except that squall didnt even like rinoa till she was gone, then decided to do anything to be reunited with her. his personality change makes no sense, and despite everything, his most famous line is "....whatever"

    face it, ff8 sucked

  • I had to play FF5 after hearing this track in FF12.

  • other than VII and VIII, how about IV, VI, and IX huh? they have really good stories as well as music dont'cha think?

  • Gilgamesh has come a long way. He's fun to beat on in FF XII. I'm partial to FFV only because of all the job classes you can mix and match. The story was shit.

  • so far, a great list..not just because i comment on some songs i know but in general this is a well placed list-..well i'll save the rest when i get to number 1

  • I think VII and VIII are enjoyable but from my POV FF IX rocks :p, any other IX fans out there?

By the way I was shocked to see Bartz (from FF V) in Dissidia. I never imagined him to look and act like that. Battle theme is nostalic (I hate Gilgamesh for that imposter sword, I actually tried to beat X-Death with it T.T)

  • FFVII , FFX are teh best of the series

  • FFX and VII are good. But VII is so overrated.

VIII is the best FF i reckon. Great music, great character development made it the best. You can actually relate to the characters in FF8.

Oh and I'm glad to see this song in the top 10 :)

  • @rissole25 i agree that VII, while good, is massively overrated. But VIII is the absolute worst FF game. Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, which I respect, but please don't tell me you liked Zell and Squall? Plus the whole love story was just awful. I'm not a huge FF fan, but IV and IX are the best in my opinion.

  • @RhysWood I thought VIII was okay, but I couldn't stand the GF system or Squall acting like a jackass.

  • @Katana991 Yeah, I normally play RPGs for the characters and the story, and VIII pretty much failed on both fronts. The story seemed extremely lazy compared to previous games, and the characters were just...well, imagine hanging out with a group of the most irritating idiots in the entire world. At least the music was good :D

  • The opening movie to VIII was wonderful though, but now I'm starting to realize a difficult truth: most of VIII sucked. It's hard for me to accept it, it was a unique feeling for me when I played the demo when I was 8 years old. It wasn't anything like the other games I played back then (unless you count the Pokemon RPGs, it was 1999 after all).

  • @Katana991 It's a minor flaw in what is otherwise a phenomenal series of games. I always found that the Shin Megami Tensei games were much better on pretty much all levels: the characters (especially in the Persona games)are great and the stories are never too forced, which makes them more compelling. The music also rivals Uematsu's work. No joke.

  • @RhysWood But then again, there is a decent side to VIII. I found a website that talks about themes in stories within popular culture, with a subject I found called "Adults Are Useless". I found FFVIII under this category, and here's what it says:

Adults start wars that get out of hand or lock the super-dictator in a box and throw their hands in the air when she inevitably gets out, and it's all left to the super-capable SeeDs to clean up the mess.

  • You lost all credibility when you actually had the gall to compare Persona's music to Uematsu. Now I know you're a troll.

  • I agree. I find Uemastu better that Persona, for it doesn't focus on just Metal, it focuses on a wider arrange of instruments.

  • @Khadaj32 If you read my comment properly, you'd notice that I actually never said Persona's music was as good as Uematsu's. Of course it isn't. I was saying the characters were especially good in Persona games. I was comparing Uematsu to Shoji Meguro who is the composer for the SMT games. He also happens to be a fantastic composer whose music I find to be as good as Uematsu's.

By the way, now I know you're a fanboy.

  • Hell yes. This track is GODLIKE.

  • Gilgamesh was so silly in FFV, but he was my favorite character! I love that theme too! I can remember running across Big Bridge getting into all those fights...

  • My favorite game of the Final Fantasy Series!!!

  • I am a master of junction, hahaha =D

Nice track. I miss Gilgamesh. I cheered when he made an appearance in FF8.

  • where can i get mp3 file?

  • I liked this game more than Final Fantasy VIII

  • GIRUGAMESH!!!!

  • The only Final Fantasy game besides X-2 that was bad is Final Fantasy 8.

And they are both bad for the same reason- the combat systems suck.. Draw/junction system of FF8 was terrible and not fun, and the same can be said for X-2's "costume" system... terrible.

The story of FF8 was good, and X-2's story was decent, but the GAMEPLAY just wasn't there for those 2 games in my humble opinion.

  • FF8 was not bad at all, sure the junction system was a bad Idea and I hated when I played it through the first time. However if you can master that junction system you kick that games ass. I owned it on my second playthough.

  • though I did enjoy 8 to some extent... (it's 9 I just can't get through. too old now I think)

the real thing I'll never get is why they made a -2 for X and not for VII.

    fucking crisis core doesn't count.

  • Sorry, gotta disagree.

Final Fantasy 8, was the only final fantasy that ever pulled me into the mind of the main character. The Music was amazing, and viii also had some of the best character development I've seen in the series, although some characters were bothersome (SELPHIE). Sure the junction system could have been a little more tuned. But VIII reminded me of just why I love RPGs.

  • I loved VIII, but of course it had areas where it needed work.

Definitely the Draw system seemed more like chore and wasn't fun, but it was a part of becoming strong. Think of it like grinding out levels, since levels didn't play a huge role in FFVIII.

But overall, I think the whole epic-ness of VIII's story and the way it was told was enough to justify that the game is actually really great.

  • GIRUGAME-

    Oh wait.

  • Epciness xD

  • I was wondering when I was going to see this song! It's just so epic!

  • final fantasy = GREAT RPG SERIES. NEVER EVER STOP MAKING THEM. YOU HEAR ME SQUEENIXX? NEVER STOP!

    great games - more fans.

  • Don't say that, you might regret it someday.

if they gone downhill since ff7 and even the ff7 fans and oldschool are bashing ffX 2 and ffXII

  • they can only stop if they start to get lazy but the fans will always get hired to do the job! and they have a passion so its gunna stay good. ...exept..12... im looking at u twelve...

lol but even that is a good looking ff game.

  • it might be good,i heard oldschool defend ff12 alot

Unlike ff8 wich i like the characters but hate the stupid 2 or 3 steps monsters and you gotta walk 5 kilometers.

  • That's why you level up DIablos for No-Encounter ability.

  • wtf? there is a no encounter ability in diablos?

As far as i know you have to kill all the monsters

  • You need the no-encounter ability to beat Odin in time

  • Nobuo Uematsu is the fkn MAN!

  • They need to make a game with the origins of Gilgamesh, with his buddy Gogo he traverses the several Final Fantasy galaxies in search for the ultimate weapons in each one.

  • This just make me remember.

Gilgamesh:NOW FEEL THE POWAH OF EXCALIBUR!!! MUAHAHAHAHAAA!!

    *1 damage*

    Bartz: <_<

Gilgamesh:...Right, uhhh, I just remembered I have business to attend to...bye!

  • The fight with Excalipur was definitely Gilgamesh's crowning moment of awesome. First, he did pretty decent damage. Then, he transforms into the super Gilgamesh and gloats about his newfound power. Then...yeah.

  • No, 12's theme took out all of the badass.
