brilliant violinist,saw him to-day in Eastbourne do this as an extra,after performing Bruchs concerto in G minor,to me this piece was a bad choice,my 14yr old said Oh dear!

Mann kann ... like or not the way he plays... but if the piece is suitable or not for a violin, doesnt mind here... it´s just an arrangement to show off how skillful you are with this bow stroke ... it´s a certain difficulty to do

Ricci's recording of this really sounds like the guitar version. This guy doesn't play very well.

Although an incredibly skillful performance, this is clearly Not a suitable piece for a violin if You play the violin AS IF You're playing a guitar, sounds awful. A violin is not a guitar, some composer should adapt this piece for a violin, it needs re-writing really.

Just my personal opinion.
