what always bothered me about this episode, even back then (like 12 years ago) is that it has hardly any feel that this is an american based railroad story. take this picture at 1:48 for instance. now that looks far more like a european locomotive than anything else
if it weren't for company logos i couldn't tell canadian or american locomotives apart. canada bought a considerable ammount of rolling stock from U.S. builders, like baldwin for example, and the canadian builders emulated what was succesful in the states. at any rate i have yet to see a historical document of a north american locomotive that included a boiler with side tanks (which was quite common for what appears to be a european tender locomotive) and most distinctive: buffers!
