  • I'm subscribing, just so I can be in the next subscriber shout out. Really, I am...just did.

  • Okay so I've watched this one and expert ignorance. My only question is, do you believe the government you speak of, is the government you have here in America? Either way, I still like "ya sh!t".

  • I love how you call everyone that disagrees with you drones, it really makes you look good in comparison.

  • "Rate this video, even if you don't like it..."

Ratings have been disabled for this video.

  • ratings disabled? fail... just fail

  • Wow this guy never blinks! Also I really like his ideas and pretty much agree with all of them so far. Although I haven't heard all he has to say by watching one video, so I could be wrong.

  • I guess blinking is overrated.

  • @TheSlendah I guess you are incapable of following an intellectual argument.

  • @zchsmith93 I wasn't arguing anything. It was a joke, calm your tits.

  • this is a horrible attempt at rebuttal. i sincerely hope that you have improved since 2009.

  • And all scandinavian countries have socialist democracy, and in the later years when the countries politics goes more to the right the unemployment and poverty is larger than before. this dosent include Norway thou becuse they have oil

  • it would be better if the most poor people in the world get the equipment and learned how to cultivate their resources instead of big industries exploiting them!

  • Thank You LEE!!!

  • I love it when Lee totally crushes people with facts and reality on his videos.

  • You did a good job explaining many important subjects.

  • my uncle died from cancer caused from a developing mining town. Same thing with many of his friends. I think the evil environmentalists were on to something.

  • @chadd990 Just because people can die from fumes that they inhale in an enclosed area doesn't mean the world's going to flood, freeze, burn, dry up, or stop rotating due to those same fumes.

  • @MerlinsJester

    Strawman much?

Anyways, I assume you're talking about global warming, which yeah, is caused by those "fumes". The other things you said are just silly. Nice try though.

Besides, I didn't mention the global environment. I was actually talking locally. Those kinds of industries fuck up the local environment. So, is it ok to pollute the air and kill hundreds of people? A couple hundred is nothing compared to the billions, right...

  • @chadd990 Not really. Environmentalists are concerned about the whole global warming thing, correct? This is their chief concern, yes?

Then my saying that the world won't burst into a ball of flame due to poisonous fumes in a small portion of a small locale still holds relevance.

Tell me of the numerous industries. Tell me of these many factories in these many countries. I'd like to see what you actually know.

  • @MerlinsJester

What are you talking about? I'm not talking about global warming, I'm talking about polluting the air with dangerous chemicals. Chemicals that give people cancer.

I'm trying to understand what your point is, but you're all over the place and you're making my brain hurt. you make no sense.

  • @chadd990 So can a diet with heightened amounts of sugar products.

In the end it's the people's choice that they allow themselves to be exposed to such things in their jobs.

And if it comes to taking care of these chemicals, you don't need environmentalists in order to do it, you simply need the proper training and tools to do so.

By the way, the brain doesn't have pain receptors, and thus can't feel pain.

  • Comment removed

  • @chadd990 Wow, nice comment removal. Can still read it in my inbox, tho'.

Instead of actually debating the point, you call it retarded and send loaded accusations my way. Mature~ man, mature.

  • watch?v=yFmEdSyrEsI&feature=related

  • we can't just keep driving for new resources that aren't replenish-able. Capitalism only works when their is an infinite amount of resources. Your youtube channel doesn't experience exponential growth because people aren't born into using your channel. People are born into having to use oil in many countries which is where exponential growth comes from. The reason that our communities are "clean" is not a good example of how wealth helps the environment. We funnel our waste away not purify it.

  • @kiel108 Capitalism works even when there is very little of a resource- if the supply is low and the price is high, people will stop buying into that particular resource and move on to a cheaper, more abundant alternative. Le duh.

  • LOL DDT has been losing effectiveness for DECADES from overuse (even now). That's an idiotic approach to stopping malaria. BTW, you've got the world spinning backwards in your retarded intro.

  • Converting coal to oil is fucking dangerous.

Cmon, can't you see there's a middle ground between being annoyed by pretentious and fanciful environmentalists who only make matters worse sometimes, and actually liking to see nature in all it's glory survive?

  • @studiojtr You're right. You shouldn't have posted that.

OK so the treasury does... After what? After the fed buys up securities.. So what's the difference? The fed lends it, the treasury prints it.. Same fucking thing.

That's like saying the pizza place didn't make my pizza, the guy working there did. Same fucking thing. When the Fed can operate without regulation, when they can fix rates, when they can 'quantitative ease' the economy any time they want you may as well say they print the money

  • @chrism216 People have a natural motive to keep their property nice and clean. They're not going to just dump a bunch a garbage all over their lawn like a bunch of idiots.

  • Comment removed

  • ur jealous

  • dude... learn how to blink

  • wow you are so wrong.

wealthy people are NOT cleaner, in fact its exactly the opposite. a simple google search of "waste per capita" will answer that. kerosene lamps? flushing toilets? haha are you freaking retarded? those are just grains of sand.

no idiot. the REAL pollution is behind everything you consume. metal, food, energy. im not saying wealth is bad. but saying that wealth is environmentally friendly is absolutely ridiculous.

hahaha kerosene lamps... im still laughing at that bullshit

  • @chrism216

Would you rather going swimming in any River in the United States or one in India or Africa?

  • Just for the record the fact that the UK relies on imported produce was the result of the destruction of British industry and agriculture via monetarism, Thatcher's realignment of British politics indefinitely to the right. The theory was that Britain could sustain itself solely upon foreign free market trade, which has ruined our economic prospects in the long term.

  • @quarterexchange Still kicking and screaming little guy?

Your verbose replies, along with your inability to self edit, only makes you come across as some little pussy trying to sound intelligent. I've easily dismissed your arguments which you've changed three different times, now you are asking me the same original question. This will be the last time I humor you and fill your little troll belly: His name is howtheworldworks. His intro has the world spinning backwards.

    End of story.

  • @quarterexchange I thought I made it pretty clear that you are done. That means you have been dismissed. You may run along now because this conversation is over and I have been declared the winner days ago.

    Take care little guy.

  • @quarterexchange Here's a thought: maybe he could have played the animation backwards? Maybe he could have used the CORRECT animation in the first place? The fact you changed your argument three times, and now your position is "he had no control over [it]" solidifies what a world class imbecile you truly are.

You are done now. Like I said, you should have quit a long time ago. Take my advice, trust me, you're finished now.

  • @quarterexchange I'm starting to think you are just a pathetic little troll because it's tough to believe anyone could be this moronic.

He had "no control" over this error? I'm going to let you in on this concept most intelligent people implement: it's called common sense. You should look it up and try practicing it some time. It would do you a world of good.

  • @quarterexchange Does your stupidity know no bounds?

He admits in a video that he used the animation because it was free and didn't care if it was incorrect.

Quit while you are WAY behind.

  • @quarterexchange You stupid moron.

I don't have the time or desire to cater to all the idiots on youtube. So he knew it was wrong, yet still decided to put it in? You colossal moron, how can you compare that to a typo? Through your mind boggling stupidity, you prove my point: he has no intellectual integrity if you purposely includes information that isn't accurate.

It's obvious you are upset that I insulted you laughable hero, but your anger is making your stupidity reach dangerous levels

  • @quarterexchange It's retarded to you because you lack the basic precepts of understanding and knowledge. Something as ironic as a user whose name is "howtheworldworks" and has THE WORLD SPINNING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION IN HIS OPENING SEQUENCE is hilariously stupid. Only a gigantic imbecile such as yourself wouldn't find that to be a legitimate criticism.

  • @quarterexchange

yes I did... and you're even more retarded for thinking htww has a shred of intelligence...

  • Hey, it's Bill O'Reallys' little sexslave!

  • Don't understand all the hate. though i may not agree with you on some things, i still enjoyed and learned things from this video. well done.

  • At around 3 minutes, you seem to be confusing living environment with the actual environment.

  • howtheworldworks . . . one of the STUPIDEST people I have ever seen.

  • HowTheWorldWorks....

with his opening that has THE WORLD SPINNING THE WRONG WAY LOL

How could ANYONE possibly take this guy serious?

  • You don't seem to understand satire.

  • why don't you blink?

  • @ashl905 Why do you care?

  • @BorgKing001 I always care about my fellow man.

  • 6:35 simple morality means that you cant rehabilitate people and must punish them? thats some poor morality to me

  • PWND!! ^_^

  • 'The united kingdom doesn't even have enough food in its own country to feed its own people'

In England there is enough land to feed the population, however a lot of this land is used for other things e.g. farming timber or rape seed. The Government PAYS some farmers to NOT grow food crops because it is much cheaper to buy foods from third world countries, this helps keep the price of food down and helps our economy.

  • Please... Dont come to Europe...

  • theamazing ego uses emotional ploys to try and discredit ppl like HTWW.

  • Intellectual? More like ASSHOLE HAHAHAHA AMIRITE?!

  • stop stabing my soul with your eyes.

  • your boring and tf owns you. talk faster, i'm sure the stupid will folllow! Slow your arrogance and maybe, no, people pee pee see you!

  • I miss having 8% unemployment. Wouldn't be nice if we were doing that good right now? lol

  • Damn, you showed him.

  • Not looking and sounding like a fat ugly dirty hippy greatly helps your credibility.

  • This guy knows what he's talking about, unlike that idiot who does nothing but attack youtube conservatives.

  • @xExekut3x I noticed an error in the first minute though, DDT is linked to various types of cancer AND diabetes, both of which have killed people. On top of that the resurgence of malaria in Africa is caused by a lack of funding and a lack of public interest, NOT because of the methods being used to control mosquitoes. There's actually an interesting TED talk done by bill gates on the subject.

  • @sloppyjoes

"No DDT-related human fatalities or chronic illnesses have ever been recorded, even among the DDT-soaked workers in anti-malarial programs or among prisoners who were FED DDT as volunteer test subjects. The only recorded cases of DDT poisoning were from massive accidental or suicidal ingestions, and even in these cases, it was probably the kerosene solvent rather than the DDT itself that caused illness."

  • @fishblades So how are there studies linking it to cancer? You could say that breathing in asbestos seldom kills instantly but the fact that it causes cancer makes it dangerous, which is the same way with DDT.

  • @sloppyjoes

Let me say it again, this time with less words, maybe that will help.

No one has ever died from DDT, however millions of people are dying every year from Malaria.

  • @sloppyjoes

HTWW already addressed this, and said for the sake of the argument that we'll assume that DDT does cause cancer.

So, which is better? Millions of people dying from malaria each year, or a small percentage of DDT users getting cancer?

The reward outweighs the risk. You have NO argument, you have NO case.

  • 20 minutes of bullshit by one of the dumbest individuals on the internet. Keep it up, you're producing quality comedy, and you don't even know it.

Even the Earth is spinning in the wrong direction in your intro. For a youtuber named Howtheworldworks, your knowledge is surprisingly limited.

  • @WhereTheyAre

WOW, look at that! Another mindless drone attacking an irrelevant point instead of the substance of HTWW's argument! You're a fucking genious, you sure showed him!

  • @Ilikemustard

Are you actually implying that an imbecile who thinks mining corporations are generally doing good to the local people is worth a serious debate? Even little kids are aware of the fate of those people after the mining is eventually over. Ruined land, jobless and untrained for anything else people with serious health problems most of the time. They use them for a while and then they leave them in much worse condition.

"Mine your own business" was paid by a mining corporation...

  • No, the film was only partly funded by a mining company, and that doesn't address the substance of the film. Are YOU actually implying that they bribed impoverished miners to lie about their circumstances?

Mines are beneficial to areas, even if they are only temporary, why? Because they create wealth in the area allowing for OTHER innovations to take place, boosting the economy.

Not only that, but mines can last for decades, and the health risks FAR outweigh the rewards.

  • @Ilikemustard

"that doesn't address the substance of the film"

    You're naive. Develop critical thinking.

"they bribed impoverished miners to lie?"

Uneducated and desperate people almost always make the wrong choice. Again, you're naive.

"Because they create wealth in the area"

No. They pay them a minimum and they permanently destroy their land. Give me one example of the opposite.

    "mines can last for decades"

    ...with even greater consequences.

  • @Ilikemustard

Here's how critical thinking works :

You got 2 groups. The mining corp, and the environmentalists.

    One of them is lying.

    Now let's examine their reasons.

The mining corp could lie because otherwise they lose a significant amount of money.

The environmentalists could lie because.... (according to mining corps) "they hate people"

A 6 year old kid would figure out who is lying. Why can't you?

  • I meant to say: the rewards far outweigh the health risks*

  • the likes must be the vote bots again

  • Re-watching this series. Love the HTWW classics

  • @bsharker

I love the amazing atheist pwning this retard :D

  • he is a fool. wealthier countries produce more pollution due to industry than poorer countries. his point is invalid when he says wealthier nations can by and large clean up their mess.

  • I dont understand why Doren takes time to respond to the "amazing" pms screaming dude, he is one of the most obnoxious child men I have seen on youtube so far. Does he really have that many fans on youtube that Doren sees it fit to respond to him? Because if not then Doren please make more of the quality vids you do, do not spend your time on that little sad troubled man.

  • Hey - your world is rotating the wrong way. I don't think you know how the world works

  • Wow, this AmazingAtheist guy is so rude. He should stop using the words "fuck" and "asshole" and "shit".

  • @DarthMaul8065 Why?

  • @CLMinc That kind of language is inappropriate.

  • @DarthMaul8065 If your using them out of context perhaps but I dont see anything inappropriate in saying "Your a fucking idiot" to someone who happens to be a fucking idiot.

Or "Your a dull asshole" to you, as you appear to be a dull asshole.

  • @CLMinc I have no wish to continue a conversation with someone who insists on using such profanities. You're only hurting yourself.

  • @DarthMaul8065 You sound like the kid in school who wasn't allowed to have fun as a kid, I've been called polite and such and I use 'Profanities' such as Bitch, Shit, Fuck, Dick, Fuck me and so on. Also how would I be hurting myself??

  • @CLMinc As mentioned before, I do not wish to discuss this further with you. But to clarify, you are hurting yourself by calling me "a dull asshole". Negative words or actions hurt the person who causes them. It's a matter of spiritual cause and effect. I hope you overcome your use of such words, especially towards others. You associate undignified modes of speech with fun, much as one might mistake the briny sea for pure water. But great is the difference between a salty sludge and pure water!

  • @DarthMaul8065

I'm guessing you tried to come in a own some one then when they said some nasty words you act all high and mighty. I hope I overcome closed mindedness and you should overcome mommy's and daddy's rules and grow up.

  • @BURNOUT177 I've said what I need to say on this issue.

  • @DarthMaul8065 saying fuck doesn't make you rude I can say "Hi, How are you fucking doing?" with a smile, and being rude is pointless in a debate over the Internet, just makes its more interesting to watch.

  • @BURNOUT177 This hardly needs saying, but "fuck" is something one should not say in any situation and I would find it rude always. It is undignified.

  • @DarthMaul8065 well that's a good fucking point kind sir. C:

  • @bilbozu73 what does me liking star wars have to do with any of this? Your making ad-homonym attacks at me.

Are you just saying this crap because you have no real point to make? plus i put that on my channel back in 2008.

  • @BURNOUT177

LOL it was meant for darthmaul.

    Sorry. XD

  • @bilbozu73 o my bad. O well it's all good.

  • Although I agree with most of your points your slightly off base on peak oil. Peak oil is not a theory that states that we will use up all of the oil. Rather, it is a theory that at some point in time (possibly already) we will reach a maximum production rate of oil (based on number of wells and refineries) and after that point in time the rate in production will slowly begin to dwindle. See =cwNgNyiXPLk for a great summary of peak oil

  • why so many dislikes? the environmentalist movement is creating poverty because poor farmers around the world don't have access to cheap pesticides to grow cheap food.

  • The only one i have seen who whopped his ass is liberalviewer

  • this guy uses pathos and it doesn't work well for him since he obviously is trying to be taken seriously.

  • I'm confused as to whether or not this guy is serious. He's presented without a doubt the worst argument as to the use of DDT I've ever heard. Most of his facts are just flat out wrong. The use of DDT, although it was an excellent pesticide, nearly caused the complete extinction of many bird species in North America, including the bald eagle. DDT never actually goes away, which is why trace amounts of the chemical can still be found in humans born in the last decade.

  • oh i see, so now capitalists care about poor people

  • great video

  • All i'm trying to say is his idea was great but its not acceptable by people because i believe its simple human nature no one wants to be simple and equal with every one. i'm no expert in this argument but don't just make some as by what you can see and here. make more strong reference before you make some.

  • Go for in-depth study on his principles rather than studying just a black book or what ever. i am not a big fan of communism but completely against capitalistic thinking. Carl marks basic principle was simple 'money(capital) dominates the world' its been from ages and continues to be but when the serious communist wanted to inject this idea into a normal society capitalist suppress that ruthlessly thats one reason where you see black spots of communism.

  • @rahulreddy11 And what is wrong with money "ruling" the the world? It's called trade...

  • I was really impressed by your idea of news videos. i totally agree with Obama, Austrian rapist and oil theory. But do not get me wrong but the point you made of Marxist ideology is completely "wrong". Reason u don't have enough knowledge on the Marxist principles.

  • 8:17

Now, what would cause price lowering for windpower/ethanol/waterpower/solar power etc.? Why not just raise the gasoline price? You conservatives surely have the budget to take that do you?

  • @Hejzwej That is a swell idea - lets take milions of dollars from tax payers and then just throw them out of the window. There is no need for it.

I come from czech republic and those idiots in goverment wrote a law to support solar power it took 2 years and now everybody is freaking out because of bigger electricity bills (solar panels got cheaper and lot more people installed them so now we have panels almost everywhere - even in fucking fields)- Now the all powerfull goverment stepped again

  • @jigssaw88 and "saved" everyone - they put a 50% tax on those subsidies and they are going to subsidise power companies so they can lower prices .....

If they wouldnt do that the price would skyrocketed (about 50% !!) - anyway the price is going to get up (even if the real prize is going down) about 5-10% => that means less jobs and less wealth to Czech Republic. ..... How is that all powerfull goverment working for us yeah. At least we have a sane president who oposses all of this -Vaclav Klaus

  • Dear conservatives. TJ owns this guy, get over it.

  • can you say trolled?

  • oh my lol this "howtheworldworks" guy is so dumb...i cant believe that 1/3rd of the people who watched this stupid vid gave it a thumbs up...

  • Why the hell would anyone dislike this upload? The guy actually talks fact and common sense. I agree totally that guy should have been executed, unfortunately I also dont feel that that punishment is sufficient as it is a short lived punishment. Sadly prolonged torture only drives people insane and as such thats not a viable option either. Theres a saying here in England (and likely other parts of the world too) "You cant teach and old dog new tricks" Im subscribing!

  • Am I hearing wrong or did this crackpot just suggest that using DDT is OK and harmless? And then goes on about how using kerosene lamps is dangerous....?

DDT persists right through the food-chain and acts as a mutagen on DNA. So yeah it's just a "slight" problem...

In fact I would love to see this guy drink a cup of it.

  • Conflict creates pain which generates more conflict. Your solution to crime is primitive and ineffective. Ignorance and arrogance is such a fucking pathetic combination.

  • I sense a lot of jealousy and animosity from the comments here. I profess I am disappointed.

  • Would give zero stars if I could... Lightweight!!!

  • intellectual lightweight is an overstatement

  • LOL ... Wealthy people creates a clean environment ...LOL SMH ... silly man ... informed people create a clean environment .

See this dude had to get a degree in Economics which is fine but he should have also have tried to get a double in Sociology. What he says sounds brilliant but it is not practical.

Also "Pure" Capitalism equals slavery for the poor.

If only 2% of ppl can buy oil if demand goes up and supply down, that means that we are out of oil because no one can afford oil.

  • The audacity to put "them environmentalists" all in one basket is flabbergasting. To defend DDT is simply outraging.

Even more, to say that wealth creates a clean environment is just a bad joke. Wealth creates comfort and clean houses but NOT a clean environment.

I do not know where to stop so I will just stop now.

  • you say all the arguments against. you never say any arguments for.

    stfu, gtfo.

  • @Kastralis when you are always against that means you have a bias. That bias means that he will throw away any good ideas from the opposing side.

I think he speaks but he doesn't understand what comes out of his mouth.

  • the tata nano is shite!! lol

according to the way ppl drive in india tata nano's aren't very safe, the'd probably end up killing more ppl with it.I read in the papers that one just caught fire while it was just sitting there parked,

bollywood actors and actresses are paid ridiculously high to act in movies that have already been made (almost all bollywood movies are copied form hollywood) maybe if they did'nt make such shit movies and have to pay for plagiarism they could afford decent cars

  • Silly man, wealth doesn't clean up the environment, it just moves the dirty industries to poorer countries which creates more pollution due to transportation overhead.. How the World Works? Sorry, you fail.

  • This guy is so pompous it's not even possible to express.

  • @MudakPizdobol TheAmazingAthiest? Because he's the arrogant one.

  • Comment removed

  • are you a fucking idiot?

    DDT mutilates peoples

way to try to hide the facts

  • Unlike Glenn Beck, you actually are a conservative with facts.

    Good channel. Keep it up.

  • @DiedInJuniorHigh this guy is just as stupid as Glenn Beck, he's just not as passionate, so he doesn't come off as crazy. HTWW's ideas are just as ignorant and stupid. Most modern philosophers would laugh at this Ayn Rand inspired bullshit.

  • Haha jesus man, if you could only open your eyes to the big picture. You spend all this time advocating for industrialization, you take a stance against environmentalists in an effort to speak for the poor as if you know just what they want, and the best part about it all is that you do it in the name of wealth. Lemme try an explain something..WEALTH=0. WEALTH and MONEY are man made notions that have NOTHING to do with nature. Pull your head out of your ass and realize WEALTH=CONSUMPTION

  • @allowmetointroducems Man you just sound like a perosn who wants us all to live in tribes with only reeds to block our genitals. Hug trees less and read a book.

  • Why would a liberal not like this video? I am a liberal and i will agree with anyone who can present facts to back their argument

  • "the corporations that employ them and their children." This made me laugh, some of those goodly humanitarian corporations with nothing but the good of the poor workers on their minds certainly are employing poor native people's children. Some who are no older than ten to make air jordans for 40 cents an hour. Oh and once they have made enough shoes, the factory pulls out of the country to avoid giving raises. OOOOPSIES

  • omfg... what do you eat for breakfast?! Does anyone believe this crud? To solve our environmental problems we should use DDT and welcome mine operations wherever they can be set up? Wealth provides healthy environment?! Well, sure. We Western Civ. People do clean our mess up.. how? We re-locate our successful corporations/companies to Third World Countries... and dump our garbage there... you are a full fledged idiot...

  • Fantastic, yet sad. This vid is an archetype for the difference between actual intellectualism and the emotional-diatribe that passes for leftist dogma today.

It is depressing that at the dawning of the Information Age we have ceded most forms of media to raving emotionalism, delivered through sound bites, interspersed with commercials while the extraordinary presentation of factual information is now being done by individuals from their own 12x16 apartments.

  • @NurseMeister I'm not sure I understand your point. Are you proposing that "most forms of media" or at least mainstream television/news is controlled by or engineered for people who are "leftist?" What an absurd assertion. Your comment is an archetype for the difference between someone who knows what they are talking about, and someone who doesn't.

  • @MorganSchmidt I am stating exactly the point that the media industry is populated by individuals that have an extremely emotional, extremely progressive preponderance of personality. (Peter Piper picketed a peck...sheesh)

The personality traits that are common in those that seek media careers are the same as those that cause emotionally-driven political choices i.e. Leftists

Take a look around New York & Hollyweird and try to stay blind to the common leftist personalities. I Dare you : )

  • Comment removed

  • @NurseMeister so right-wing people aren't emotionally driven? Media such as Hollywood is engineered to be entertainment (same with "the news" btw) which is drawn from drama which is the "emotionally driven" stuff you are talking about. I don't think it's fair to say that people with dramatic inclinations or shows that utilize dramatic effect (for your entertainment) are necessarily all left-leaning..

  • @NurseMeister you want an example? Fox News is the number one source of right-wing political bias in newsmedia I don't think I have to argue that point. You wanna talk about dramatic and emotionally-driven, just watch one of their evening news stories. If what you are saying is true, an overwhelming percentage of the people working for that newscast are closet leftists

  • @MorganSchmidt Perhaps you need to read the comments again (I am guessing you went to a public school) You will see the terms most, preponderance, common... not infinitives such as all, every, entire.

Fox news is info-tainment. So is NBC, CBS, CNN and all the rest of the 'also-rans' that can't compete in that market. If you seek your information from a broker of entertainment, then caveat emptor.

  • @NurseMeister for all your fancy words, self-proclaimed smarts and pompous pretentiousness (duh I can do alliterations too!! even though I went to a lowly public school!) you aren't very good at addressing someone's point. Anyone reading this can see that you are ducking and dodging like Muhummad Ali. Your initial point was a stupid generalization about left wingers, end of story.

  • Does this idiot know nothing? The DDT myth? Banning the indiscriminate use of DDT has saved millions of lives. If DDT was used as this fre market clown would have it, mosquitoes would have developed immunity to it years ago and there would be no defence.

The environmental movement stopped this from happening and DDT is now used under extremely controlled circumstances in a way that works and doesn't do much damage.

Less than one minute in and he shows he knows nothing.

    He's a paid lackey.

  • @rugbyguy59 Prove him wrong then.

    Saying he's wrong ain't enough.

In addition how many lives are lost to malaria?

Prove that the bugs would have become immune.

In short back up what you say.

  • @wormer104 He doesn't supply any proof. Why should I? Millions are lost to malaria but DDT use for that was banned. You don't know about insect immunity? It became an issue in 1947. Environmentalists pushed for an end to agricultural spraying which does massive damage and means bugs would become immune much faster. Environmental groups approved the UNs 2006 initiative to spray DDT in homes.

HTWW should check his facts. So should you. You obviously accept whatever he says with out checking.

  • @rugbyguy59 Then you are an idiot. You call him an idiot for not supplying you proof.

Hence you call yourself an idiot for doing the same thing.

Give me an example of mosquitos becoming immune to DDT then give me a reason why we wouldn't have noticed and changed up.

  • @wormer104 Italy. DDT used on mosquitoes 1945. Good control for 1 year but effectiveness lost so DDT supplemented with chlordane 1948. Works for another two years by end of 1950.

Same situation in Greece. Begun 1946. 1949 bugs don't die, eave spray area to recover. Months later no effect at all.

They became resistant. We changed up by adding new chemicals. Resistant again. So we stopped indiscriminate use that speeds resistance growth. Now we are opting for light sprays in homes.

  • @rugbyguy59 And what toxin doesn't do this?

When faced with this you change up.

  • @wormer104 If you mean we look at the science and make the best judgment we can and if that isn't working you change, then you agree with me, not HTWW. The worlds actions regarding DDT and malaria use has changed based on science. We used it. It's effect in widespread use was lost and so we changed up.

HTWW claims millions have died due to a ban on DDT use. That is factually wrong and any simple non-ideological look at the facts tells a person that.

  • @rugbyguy59 Actually I disagree with you.

You come across as a prick and Lee doesn't.

  • @wormer104 So explain "switch it up." Perhaps you can provide some evidence that "Lee" doesn't. Prove his point for him.

I don't doubt I sound like a prick to you. That is how right wingers respond when they are presented with the actual facts. Facts they can't dispute. They start calling the opponents names and never produce an argument to defend their ideas. They just decide to believe Lee because he doesn't "come across as a prick." Of course that's code for he tells me what I want to hear.

  • @rugbyguy59 Actually it's code for "His delivery is calm as opposed to bleating."

If you want to debate go after him (Lee). I don't debate on youtube. It's a waste.

The ONLY point I'm making is that you called him an idiot but didn't back yourself up by proving it. You don't prove it to me. You either put yourself up against Lee or don't.

  • @wormer104 If Lee wants to debate me I'm game. As you can see from the links I gave you he'd be toast on this issue. If you don't want to debate me then why did you ask for an example? Actually it didn't have to be a debate unless you are saying what I provided is wrong.

Yes he's so calm as he races through his talking points with no proof or evidence. Only those who can prove you and Lee wrong are bleating. What a cop out.

  • @rugbyguy59 Then approach him.

Well he does provide evidence. You claim to have a challenge. So go challenge him.

  • @wormer104 Go to Science Daily and look up Key Mechanism Of DDT Resistance Found In Malarial Mosquitoes.

Go to Medical News Today and look up DDT Highly Effective Against Resistant Mosquitoes. It's about home spaying.

By the way the WHO has always recommended DDT for mosquito control.

Go look at the Wiki article on DDT and you see that what was banned was agricultural use. Its use against disease vectors continued.

  • @rugbyguy59 Ah the old 'paid lackey' emotional outburst. Common. Utterly common.

Well, I don't know Lee's background but I am a Chemical Engineer/Biochemist, care to prove to me your position for why the UN and environmental wackos have banned the use of DDT?

And remember, the laboratory data shows that the egg-shell thinning hoax was completely false.

So what is your assertion for continuing to kill millions of black and brown skinned people around the world?

  • @NurseMeister Ah the old call it an "emotional outburst" followed by the claim to authority. How common

If you are who you claim, you destroy your scientific credibility by saying 'hoax." If you said early work indicated but further study showed other factors, I could take you seriously

The egg thinning issue is not an argument I have made but as I look at the journal Nature's News Jan 2010, it says "its eggshell-thinning effects also had a drastic impact on many bird species." Nature I trust

  • @NurseMeister You could look up some of the articles I have listed on other posts if you want to know my arguments. DDT was never banned for malaria prevention, but it is no longer used indiscriminately either. It's used as a spray in homes because that has been effective without causing resistance to develop in the mosq
