Please write and tell Sean what oppurtunities and expieriences he is missing out on. It is a crying shame that guys who are vocally talented are looked down on....except by the ladies!
Great job, Sean! I'm a little disappointed to hear you don't want to sing any more, considering that's like the sun saying it doesn't want to shine any more. My favorite times to sing were before I became a baritone. I hope you aren't quitting for the same reasons as JTC wrote. I was made fun of by my peers, just as most choir boys are, but the choir kids got to go on great field trips to musical palaces while the "cool" kids were left behind, jealous and wishing they could have this talent.
Was surprised to hear such an angelic voice from you with hardly any vocal training. I too was a boy soprano, but am 49 now. Don't let the guys tell you that singing is "sissy" or "queer". They did it to me when I was your age, but as I grew older I was in the Chorale in high school and college;.... the best times of my life. I now sing for weddings and funerals. It's a nice way to pick up pocket change during the "wedding months" Keep it up! I look forward to hearing more from you!
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to listen to Sean & giving such a nice comment.Last week Sean decided he wanted to stop his lessons, his reason "He does'nt want to sing" He has a natural gift but unfortunately given to a very shy boy who does'nt have the confidence to go with it. We hoped your comment would give him a boost, but sadly not!.His vocal coach is devastated, she adored him & said he had a natural talent. His dad & I will never force but are lost as what to do. Rosie (Sean's Mum)
I hope Sean has continued with his singing. Any boy-choir director (or, choir director, in general) would *kill* for a voice like this, untrained or not. There is incredible promise to this instrument...through the nerves and all, this is lovely!
amazing voice, once you've got over the nerves this is a perfect performance. I'm singing this next weekend, although as a girl its a little easier for me i guess! keep it up, theres not many guys around that are brave enough to do this, well done. us girls need some guys to sing with! :) xx
Sean, you have a pretty voice and natural talent. My son is also a boy soprano. He's nearly 15 now, and has been taking private voice lessons for about 2 years. He has great teacher who has helped him keep his high voice even through his voice change. He has sung Pie Jesu in the past, and will be singing it again in a few weeks. It seems like a simple piece, but it is actually very difficult to do well. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for taking the time to listen to Sean and for your kind comments. We were surprised to discover Sean could sing! He sung to the family for the first time at Christmas. He has singing lessons now for 8 weeks, but football takes preference to practice :-) Nice to hear that your son is doing so well & has kept his high voice, well done!! I wish him every success in his future. Best wishes, Sean's Mum
fantastic! With the right singing coach I can only see good things for him.
