  • I think you'll be find pulling it out as they are shallow rooters. go for the transplant (y) ! hahah

  • Those are good looking plants. Shame some had to go but you are certainly correct to do so. Oh well, fodder for the compost pile...

    Regards, Gary

  • Oh how funny hahaha. I planted like 8 yellow sqush in a tote and they all came out !

One day I heard the lord say you better thin that out or there wont be anything to pick IM like ahhhhhhhhhh lol. I ended up carefully digging out 5!! Gavem them all to a neighbor and there actually doing pretty good (miracle). My first year can ya tell hahaha. I wont even tell you how many cucumbers came up hahaha

  • I know how you feel loosing plants to slugs or cutworms is one thing but killing it yourself really hurts. I guess I really thinned my Zucchini , I haven't planted any yet. LOL I ran out of space, same space I had last year, actually one more 4X4 bed, but I'm growing less varieties just more plants of the things that I really like. What's a garden without Zucchini though, I will have to start one in a container.

  • Im having to deal with the exact same problem right now.. thinning my zucchini! I have 3 of them within close proximity. It's SO hard to thin them.

  • It does hurt to thin out, but just a couple of zuke plants will feed your family and a couple of others :) They really put out.
