  • I love jets

  • This plane is actually going transonic. The airspeed is very nearly at mach 1. Look at 0:10 and you can see the shock wave going straight up and down, indicating he is nearly matching the speed of sound. Some areas of the plane, such as parts of the wing and behind the canopy are experiencing supersonic airflows. See Bernoulli's principle to understand why. This is an awesome video BTW.

  • My God that was the worst song ever. Why ruin a great video with that crap?

  • @MrSteveleon I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion as you have so vigorously expressed your view. I would like to note that all though the music on that particular video my not be appropriate, It is a video I shot, edited and posted which is more than I can say for you and most who give negative comments on my creative work. I check out everyones Utube page that comments on my work to see exactly where they are coming from.

  • @MrSteveleon I have noticed most who have throne negative comments on this old video, I re-edited called "Sneak Pass" to accommodate, These individuals do not produce their own videos and just take them from other sites and videos already filmed Edited and uploaded by someone else so in essence you're basically using somebody else's creativity to promote your self. Please show me some videos you personally Shot , Edited, and/or Uploaded so I can comment on your creativity. Sound Fair?

  • @kornorstone That's some rant... the song still sucks. Move on dude.

  • @MrSteveleon Which makes me souly responsible for all work posted by me on my Utube site.

  • Badass with the Right Stuff!

  • 3 guys love HIG-SLOWLY cessna Aircrafts.....

  • that pilot had to get that night!

  • what is that smoke in the body?

  • @akilisatolitot Not Smoke. That is the plane hitting the sound barrier creating a Mach Cloud, that the plane flies thru.

  • @kornorstone is it really breaking the sound barrier? because it looks as if it's not going nearly fast enough for that, maybe it's just condensation since its foggy and in close proximity to the water....what really impresses is that fly-through the bridge :D

  • @FXDIAZ Your correct, The plane is not completely reaching Mach but a mile or two just below the speed of sound but still creates the Mach cloud due to him catching up to the sound but not breaking the sound barrier so the cloud stays with the plane instead of passing thru.

  • @kornorstone He's not even close to mach. The mist is a compression of water due to the high amount of moisture in the air. If he was at the same speed over dry land, you wouldn't see anything. Besides, when a aircraft is about to break the sound barrier, the compression starts at the nose, not the tail.

  • @FXDIAZ it almost fooled me too but look closely at the exhaust, he scraped right over it.

  • @akilisatolitot It's actually just vapor from the difference in air pressure due to it's high speed. Breaking the sound barrier is when the plane is traveling too fast for it's sound waves. These sound waves then travel behind the plane in a cone-like shape and creates what is known as the "Sonic Boom". Source: My Freshman Science fair project/Research essay

  • @akilisatolitot It's a Prandtl-Glauert singularity.

  • Should have tried to pass between the vertical cables in knife-edge XD.

  • @VersusARCH That would be very cool

  • It's the Music,,, Stupid...

  • @BigWheelHawaii I reposted it unedited no music

  • It's a shame the last 2 years they haven't had the testicular fortitude to fly that low...

  • Just read some of the comments about this video. I have to laugh that 2 assholes who don't even know each other are arguing about shit that neither one of them really knows about instead of just enjoying the show. Just sayin'.

  • what a rush

  • Good camera work... ruined by the obnoxious music... ugh!

  • @vapor69 Reposted, unedited no music

  • This is a GREAT video by Mythbusters which will show you the effect of sonic booms, and how things like distance affect it. Notice the structurally unsound window- watch?v=Cc4jw_3RE4E

Then notice the window EXPLODE. The warping of the window frame is what broke it, not the boom itself. Hope this helps illustrate what I mean. Again, sonic booms don't ALWAYS do damage, and different planes have different characteristics. I'm just saying they're illegal because of the POTENTIAL for damage :D

  • @rtrThanos Good job genius.. you know how to look up big words on google! Fuckin moron! LOL

  • some really nice filming there.

  • Thank You for the great compliment bla1die2bla!

  • This aircraft is transonic.

  • Crazy, aint it?

  • Thank goodness for videos; it happens so fast in person, if you blink you've miss it... :-)

  • By the way Angels ...50 ft is the hard deck....your kill didnt count! HAHA!

  • That is a great video! That is one confident pilot! Blue Angels are the Shizz!

  • Thanks Man

  • yey u can see jizzy club. later nice MF plane driver

  • lol u can see when the plane brakes sound barrier. LOVE IT AWESOME DUDE THATS AWESOME. k im gona stop

  • Thanks! THis was the fastest they ever went over the bay. If you take a look at the other low speed pass on this page in HD you will not see the cloud but you will see the vapors from the bay being lifted up.

  • Actually it didn't break the barrier. They're not allowed to. The FAA has made it illegal over the United States. Plus, imagine how many fans would be injured from a sonic boom originating 1000 feet away? Probably ALL of them :D

The technical term for this is "Prandtl-Glauert singularity", and it's common in humid conditions around the speed of sound. However, it can happen at considerably lower speeds also.

Great video! Excellent quality! 5 stars!

  • no one would have been injured! You want to see a sonic boom watch my video I made of one! Its loud and will knock you over if you're not ready but it wont hurt you! It is however loud as hell!

  • @ptgoldman

I'm not saying it WILL happen EVERY time. It depends on a lot of things. However, sonic booms CAN cause damage. This is why they are ILLEGAL over the continental USA. This is why you will never see the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels do them at air shows.

Specifically, testing done over White Sands and Oklahoma City in the 60s showed that 5 pounds of overpressure was enough to disturb unsound structures; the government lost a lawsuit by Ok City residents for damage done by booms.

  • @rtrThanos And FYI when it happened...the entire aircraft carrier shakes like a bomb went off next to it! Do you even know what a sonic boom is?

  • @ptgoldman

THAT WAS MY ENTIRE POINT IDIOT!

I originally said that in YOUR video, the camera didn't even move when he flew past. Yet you claim "the entire aircraft carrier shakes like a bomb went off next to it."

I'm curious how that "bomb" didn't disturb your hand-held (NOT tripod mounted) camera AT ALL.

Here's $1... go find someone to remove the stretch marks from around your mouth, cocksucker. You want to have an attitude, I can also.

  • @ptgoldman

And if your video is indeed a supersonic flyby, considering the lack of movement from the camera and the fact that the water is hardly even disturbed by the pressure wave, I'm going to guess that it was well within the 2.0 pounds of pressure which was initially acceptable by our government.

This is a GREAT video by Mythbusters which will show you the effect of sonic booms, and how things like distance affect it. Notice the structurally unsound window- watch?v=Cc4jw_3RE4E

  • @rtrThanos Dude you watch to much TV. How bout getting your ass on an aircraft carrier and watching it in person in the middle of the pacific ocean away from anything while being on active duty in the Navy. You sound like a dumbass trying to sound so smart. I watched it, I filmed it with a 8.0 megapixl canon point and click camera and it happened so fast I barely caught it on video. You need to learn what a sonic boom actually is and understand avaition before you can talk to me about this!

  • @ptgoldman

I don't need to go to a fucking aircraft carrier to witness it. I wouldn't be caught dead in the faggot navy. My family is Air Force and Army, all the way.

And you idea of "active duty" is obviously an aircraft carrier full of civilians. Yeah, that REALLY looked like it was "middle of the ocean." Any more bullshit you want to pass off as "real?"

Your camera didn't even jump at ALL when the "sonic boom" hit. Even more evidence that it wasn't much of a boom.

  • @rtrThanos Once again an internet tough guy who knows everything because he watches mythbusters. Go tell your Mom to get you another cheese sandwich and a glass of milk and to let you back on her computer to talk smack liek a tough guy. You obviously know nothing about sonic booms or military aircraft carriers or the Navy. I could explain all of what you think you see but you are obvioulsy to stupid to understand any of the science behind any of these videos.

  • @rtrThanos I totally agree with you but, why are you watching videos of the blue angels if you hate the navy so much?

  • @rtrThanos Notice in this video the only reason the pressure wave disturbs the water is because he is about 20 feet above it. In my video he was well over 100 ft in altitude. Hence no water disturbance!

  • @ptgoldman

No you jackass, he didn't even break the sound barrier in this video. The Blue Angels WILL NOT go supersonic at air shows. Period. And it STILL disturbed the water more than in your video. You've GOT to be kidding. Is this what you do? Troll through videos like this and then tell people to watch YOUR video, because you're "active duty", seman first class INDEED.

  • @rtrThanos I know he didnt break the sound barrier. If you actually knew what he did DO or for that matter how fast he was flying you wouold know what it looks and sounds liek when the sound barrier is ABOUT TO be broken and when it actually is. Like I said you dont even know what the science is behind it. I do. Until you see it, and hear it, and feel it, and film it in person you still cant talk to me about this! Get off the computer you mom needs it to surf for your new daddy on facebook!

  • @ptgoldman

Dude... "science?" It's called the prandtl-glauert singularity, smartass. I'm SURE you didn't know that, scientist. As I said before, I'm VERY familiar with sonic booms. I'm sure that rock-stead hand of yours can be put to better use than typing on Youtube all fuckin day. Go get a life.

  • he didnt break the sound barrier.

  • Right! He was just at mach speed or one mile an hour under.

When you see him glowing, coming from the bridge and a couple of times before he hits show central, THat is him just hitting mach I and then pulling off the throttle as to not break the sound barrier. This is the fastest they ever went above the San Francisco Bay. If you take a look at the 07 Pass, you will notice the vapors coming up from the water but no Mach Cloud.

  • Turn the music off and you have an epic video in your hands.

  • right about the music ruining the clip

  • @OtisGreen I reposted the clip unedited and no music

  • Agreed

  • @fqxd music is off

  • @fqxd Music is off in new posting. The old one is still up.

  • music sucks monkey balls! lol, vid worth 5/5 though...

  • @9000Gs I reposted it unedited and no music. The old one is still up as well

  • worst fucking music ever. otherwise, nice video.

  • The plane enters the bay on the San Francisco side of the south tower just above the toll booth and swoops down 14 Ft above the bay. You need to know the sequence of maneuvers, to catch him at the bridge, as they do their "Left Echelon" maneuver. That is when four planes are lined up tight, one behind the other in a diagonal line from show left. At that point you'll want to keep your eyes on the SF side of the bridge. You will see him glowing on approache. Yes, this is as real as it gets.

  • Does the jet go under or through the bridge wire? I cant tell, is this real, does it fly under the bridge?

  • he passed the wire from the left, above the bridge entry road

  • that was 2007?

    2008 high speed pass sucked

  • No this particular run is from 05. It's the fastest low level pass ever, at the San Francisco Show.

  • 1 star.. turn off the music..

  • @ihitacurb I reposted it unedited and no music. The old one is still up as well.

  • your video is amazingly clear is that like a news camera? Im very ignorant to digital cameras and what not.

  • I shot this with a consumer camera and edited it for clarity. Allot has to do with how you fallow the planeand how your final editing is done.
