The whole sleeve versus hand thing is a simple debate: wash your hands, and wash your clothes. One is no "better"; docs probably encourage the sleeve because we touch so many more things with our hands, i.e. pens, food, hand-shakes, so getting snot shrapnel on your hands is worse for communicable germs.

The point is it was a public space. Get a 101 on germ theory, or just think about it. A sneeze expelled air from his lung, like breathing, but at high velocity, thus carrying respiratory membranes with the air, aka. "snot". Viruses and bacteria live in such membranes, so either he's got to santize his hands or wash his sleeve.

You actually aren't supposed to sneeze into you arms/clothing, you contaminate more stuff that way. The actual, correct way is to sneeze into your hands and wash them as soon as possible. Sneezing into clothing traps bacteria and viruses more than your hands.
