I remember watching this in class back in 7th grade. Me and my best friend became practically obsessed with this movie. We referred to Viggo as "The King" and both begged our parents for horses. In track, I would say, "Lay 'er back," while running, thinking about this movie. We read Lord of the Rings because of Viggo. This is an amazing movie. Inspiring, sweet, and it made me laugh.

Great movie. I did notice that Hidalgo the horse were different horses at certain parts of the movie. Look at the face markings. The scene where Frank is being chased just before he falls into the spike pit (part 11 of 13 pause at 3:11 and you'll see the markings are different. Then in the pit it is back to the original horse. In the last stretch where the three horses are racing to the finish line Frank rides a different horse. When the heard is released, the same, two horses were used.
