Guys, i am getting sick of wow after playing it for 4.5 years now. Honestly, i tried to pplay other MMOs but they always lack in essential factors. for example, character mobility, freedom, environment, user friendly UI, ... etc. Is Age of Conan now mature enough to overcome WoW in a way or another? or do u recommend something else? looking for your feedbacks.. thanks

Mutation only lasts so long so you have to pwn both ways.. really it comes down to skill.. this looks like a lowbie pvp mini game.. takes skill to use a melee character.. you'll just have to get in there and spar with someone that knows the game well.. you'll learn..
sadface, i know its beta and all, but if you used Descrating Essence you would have healed yourself and all incoming attacks would burn your enemies, and since you get increased fire damage with Descrating essence you could use Hellfire Breath with better dmg, and you also had a available BOOM-Aoe combo : /
Desecrating Essence did not work like that way back then in the beta... it only increased fire dmg and armor by a small small amount... no healing or hurting enemies when they attacked you.

HoX's deal massive damage if they for example work in a group and some1 else is getting hit. But 1vs1 HoX is so easily killed, I think I've about 2.5-3k hp at lvl 80 with mine. But then as I said we do massive dmg, I think I did a blow around 5-6k on an equal lvled mob.

um idk i have played a HoX to level like 17 haha they are pretty good PvE but they suck PvP i mean but thats only level 17, and i got two shotted by an assassin same level so yeah there yah go
How well do you stand up to a guardian? I really havent seen any in the pvp vids. It seems their greatest strength lies in aquiring plate armor at 60, but they can weild polarms, and have alot of knockback combos. im just curious how they do agains burst damage?
alright guys...heres the dilemma...and i really need some help...after doing a ton of research i have narrowed my choices to three classes....Necromancer....HoX....and Dark Templer....the necromacer is nice but im not a fan of the "back lines"...the Dark Templer's leech is awesome...but i was told that dps isn't to strong and they really are meant for tank....then i I thought HoX...but i heard they run out of stamina too much and they pretty much get owned by ANY class...guys...suggestions?

Sta seems to be an issue with HoX. As you are bursting, your bar is getting drained pretty fast. What can you do with an empty sta bar? Are you just limited to melee and spells and unable to perform combos?
Yes. Without stamina you cannot sprint or perform melee combos. That being said, you can still use your spells. Stamina is easily recovered simply by resting, but it's definately a limitation to both the HoX and BS, which both have sta/mana pools.

Yes they do, however, it dosent work how you're thinking it does. Its a 5 minute buff you put on yourself, that absorbes the first like 10 points of damage from every hit you take, to a maximum of like 300 (at this level). So for example, lets say a guardian would hit you for 100 every time without it on, with it on, he hits you for 90 damage, and that would work 30 times before consuming your buff.
look at my info. I recorded at 1440x900 on high with no shadows... this was just to keep fps good while recording. When not recording i was playing at 1680x1050 with everything on high perfectly.
i've been looking thru the talents for hox and it seems we will have a good amount of magic spells.i hope hox has alot of burst dmg spells because i loved playing pally in wow.
Depends on what resolution you want to run at. The lower your resolution, the better it will run. Keep in mind though that even on low settings this game looks really good. I'd think you'd be alright as long as your not running above 1440x900. Even if you had to go on low settings, you'd still have a blast playing this game :P
It depends what you mean when you say "success". Which class did i rack up the most kills with? HoX. Which class did I score the most flag caps with? Bear shaman. Which class did I keep the enemy from killing my teammates the best with? Tempest of Set.
Which class did I have the most fun with? They're all really fun :)
They're really small, i'm pretty sure theres an option in the menues to make them bigger, but I was having so much fun, the numbers were the last thing on my mind :P
you only use the demon once or twice, does it feel like your character is like a on a 2min timer, i see you holding your own but you seem to always have backup, what is it like 1v1 agenst the tank arch types also when you turn demon whats the dmg increase like? one last question all the hox videos i seen are all melee where is the battle mage type of spells do hox use any ranged spells at all~?
When I play HoX, I never feel like I'm on a 2 minute timer, I like to save it for when i NEED it, which is usually like once or twice a match :P 1v1 the HoX easily has enough burst damage to kill even tanks fairly quickly, even without demon form. Damage increase from demon form is neglagable, I noticed no dmg increase at all, though survivability does go up a noticable amount, as you gain some health and armor. At this level, HoX have no ranged spells, there could be a few by lvl 80 though.

Why would you say that? Did you somehow miss that I was not healed once by them? U can see clearly at 4:12 and on that when the priest heals my team, they get the gobblet animation over their heads... yet it does not happen to me. I was not being healed do to some wierd bug that, with regards to healing effects, would have you on the wrong team. All of the owning i do in this video is done without heals. Healing in this game is simple (still fun). You press 2 heals every 15 seconds, thats it.
is it Molten Steel Slash or pillar flame which one is the one where u slam ur weapon into the groud and shoots fire out cuz that combo is soooo ownage
Indeed they are. The first time you do one... it takes you back to the first time u walked in an arcade and saw someone rip scorpion's head off :) well, it did for me anyways :P Doing fatalities in this game feel amazing... nothing says "I pwned you n00b!" like freaking decapitating them ^^

Happy to show ppl the light that is HoX ^^ The Idea of a demon worshiping melee mage always excited me, and i was deffinatly not let down once i got my hands on it :)
HoX burst damage is even higher than the rogue classes (at least at lvl 20, which is what all this footage was taken at). But sustained dps is most likely a bit lower. Also, we lack their uber stealth. (you see me stealthed in the beginning, moving in stealth while not a rogue, drains stamina, and stamina is where like 85% of HoX dmg comes from).
Im thinking about playing as a HoX but the main thing I worry about is dying since it uses cloth. So what do you think about that? Is it easy to survive comparing to the other chars you have played? Is it the same?
Everyone will die alot in PvP in this game, thats just how it is. Survival is more about working as a team, and knowing when to fall back and recoupe. That said, 1 on 1 I feel HoX has the dps to kill any class before the HoX dies, even in cloth (unless ur rooted and nuked). A good example is right in the begining where I decimate that Barb... and thats without demon form. HoX is EXTREMELY fun to play... if you're thinking of playing one, you'll have a blast.
hey man..you really changed mind about playin which class! i was going to go with conqueror..but the HOX looks ways too much fun..how do you do on 1v1 most of the time?..and what lvls were the spells you were using?
wow thats the same thing for me i wanted to be conqueror too but now im sliding toward hox..but i might still go conqueror, guess ill wait for the final game.
After a few hours with HoX, once i found my spec and which combos are the most important, I litterally won 99% of 1 on 1 fights. The DPS output is GREAT and 1 combo in particular takes 40% of all but a guardian's health. I speced for near instant Hellfire Breath. (its not much damage, but its nearly instant, and buffs your damage after you use it). I would Hellfire Breath > Molten Steel Slash > Hellfire Breath > Pillar of Flame > Hellfire Breath. Death to anyone, though it burns lots of stam.
as far as feat trees go i know one tree buffs your demon form and all your melee combos and the other does all your spells. i think?... seeing as hox is a mage would you go spell dmg over melee???
It lasts 25 seconds and the cooldown is 2 minutes. Its not so bad really, and DPS is still sick even when not in demon form. While u do get a bonus to fire damage from demon form, the most significant thing about it is the armor bonus.

most of this gear you cant get at level 20. with the exception of the bear shaman's outfit. they just did it so everyone looked unique in this beta.

hm, how good is HoX in 1v1? who would win if bear shaman vs HoX or assasin vs HoX ?and how is the dmg when not in the demon form ?

The better player would win. Most likely HoX would win against a bear shaman, but if the assassin jumps you, he's at a pretty good advantage.

i've been looking thru the talents for hox and it seems we will have a good amount of magic spells.i hope hox has alot of burst dmg spells because i loved playing pally in wow.

Depends on what resolution you want to run at. The lower your resolution, the better it will run. Keep in mind though that even on low settings this game looks really good. I'd think you'd be alright as long as your not running above 1440x900. Even if you had to go on low settings, you'd still have a blast playing this game :P

It depends what you mean when you say "success". Which class did i rack up the most kills with? HoX. Which class did I score the most flag caps with? Bear shaman. Which class did I keep the enemy from killing my teammates the best with? Tempest of Set.
Which class did I have the most fun with? They're all really fun :)

Fairly fast when you're not in demon form... all you have to do though, is kill them faster :)

They're really small, i'm pretty sure theres an option in the menues to make them bigger, but I was having so much fun, the numbers were the last thing on my mind :P

you only use the demon once or twice, does it feel like your character is like a on a 2min timer, i see you holding your own but you seem to always have backup, what is it like 1v1 agenst the tank arch types also when you turn demon whats the dmg increase like? one last question all the hox videos i seen are all melee where is the battle mage type of spells do hox use any ranged spells at all~?

hox doesnt have any ranged spells as far as i know and the demon form has short cooldown (2 mins i think)

When I play HoX, I never feel like I'm on a 2 minute timer, I like to save it for when i NEED it, which is usually like once or twice a match :P 1v1 the HoX easily has enough burst damage to kill even tanks fairly quickly, even without demon form. Damage increase from demon form is neglagable, I noticed no dmg increase at all, though survivability does go up a noticable amount, as you gain some health and armor. At this level, HoX have no ranged spells, there could be a few by lvl 80 though.

If you have no weapon equiped, the middle attack animation is a headbutt :P

haha thanks but he doesnt get healed... he just owns therefore u think he is constantly getting healed cuz he never dies(cuz he owns)

Why would you say that? Did you somehow miss that I was not healed once by them? U can see clearly at 4:12 and on that when the priest heals my team, they get the gobblet animation over their heads... yet it does not happen to me. I was not being healed do to some wierd bug that, with regards to healing effects, would have you on the wrong team. All of the owning i do in this video is done without heals. Healing in this game is simple (still fun). You press 2 heals every 15 seconds, thats it.

Indeed they are. The first time you do one... it takes you back to the first time u walked in an arcade and saw someone rip scorpion's head off :) well, it did for me anyways :P Doing fatalities in this game feel amazing... nothing says "I pwned you n00b!" like freaking decapitating them ^^

Thank you ^^ HoX will be my first alt as well... As much as i LOVE HoX, a friend of mine is rolling Conc so I'm going Bear Sham for the tank/heal combo :P Plus, healing is fun in this game, as you really only have to press a heal button like once every 15 seconds, or when someone is about to die :P
But for DPS ownage? I'm totally gonna love my HoX ^^

HoX burst damage is even higher than the rogue classes (at least at lvl 20, which is what all this footage was taken at). But sustained dps is most likely a bit lower. Also, we lack their uber stealth. (you see me stealthed in the beginning, moving in stealth while not a rogue, drains stamina, and stamina is where like 85% of HoX dmg comes from).

Im thinking about playing as a HoX but the main thing I worry about is dying since it uses cloth. So what do you think about that? Is it easy to survive comparing to the other chars you have played? Is it the same?
And a stupid question: Is it fun to play? :)

Everyone will die alot in PvP in this game, thats just how it is. Survival is more about working as a team, and knowing when to fall back and recoupe. That said, 1 on 1 I feel HoX has the dps to kill any class before the HoX dies, even in cloth (unless ur rooted and nuked). A good example is right in the begining where I decimate that Barb... and thats without demon form. HoX is EXTREMELY fun to play... if you're thinking of playing one, you'll have a blast.

After a few hours with HoX, once i found my spec and which combos are the most important, I litterally won 99% of 1 on 1 fights. The DPS output is GREAT and 1 combo in particular takes 40% of all but a guardian's health. I speced for near instant Hellfire Breath. (its not much damage, but its nearly instant, and buffs your damage after you use it). I would Hellfire Breath > Molten Steel Slash > Hellfire Breath > Pillar of Flame > Hellfire Breath. Death to anyone, though it burns lots of stam.

as far as feat trees go i know one tree buffs your demon form and all your melee combos and the other does all your spells. i think?... seeing as hox is a mage would you go spell dmg over melee???

Thats not really true. The HoX has very little magic damage at all... really, only Hellfire breath.

It lasts 25 seconds and the cooldown is 2 minutes. Its not so bad really, and DPS is still sick even when not in demon form. While u do get a bonus to fire damage from demon form, the most significant thing about it is the armor bonus.
