I was pretty close to writing off Spartacus within the first episode because it was just so damned hokey. Hannah's performance drew me in, and as the show got (MUCH) better, his character became my favorite. The guy balances likability and revulsion beautifully. And seeing him in an interview as himself really shows what a great job he did as Batiatus. I could absolutely believe they're two very different people.
