After I unpack the Oblivion Lost mod and run the game, it just closes before even reaching the main menu. Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? Please help if you know...

@ICE1ICE2ICE3ICE4 sorry this is so long after your post and i realize you probably either know or don't care to know anymore but in order to use most major mods on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, you MUST go to their game site, just google Stalker Game and select first link, and download the 1.0005 patch BEFORE you install the Oblivion Lost mod...i do think a few mods will run properly without the patch, though. and it MUST be the one from the legitimate game website!

The recording software is set too high on the audio..so it scratches. Its best to keep that one low, then go higher on your system audio

I find Oblivion Lost to be extremely difficult. I'm playing on the lowest difficulty and I can't even get past the little group of bandits at the Garbage entrance. On the game I was playing before I installed the mod, however, I was already at Lake Yantar with a p99 and a fast shooting ak-74u with a scope and grenade launcher. On my OL game, I have like the first pistol n the game and a Viper with about no ammo in it.

Maybe I just suck at the game. :/

No offense, maybe ye just suck :p I actualy find it easy on the hardest difficulty, you jsut have to play it intelligantly.

It's not that you suck, it's probably more than you just haven't gotten used to the different parameters of ObLost (and it's A LOT different from the vanilla game). Bandages don't heal you anymore, so that adds difficulty since you HAVE to use medkits. You have a bo0sted carry capacity (80kg instead of 50), which is g0od because you'll need to carry at least 20-40 medkits with you (plus 30-50 bandages) if you hope to survive a deep raid. Naturally, it takes forever just to get that much stuff.

at the start it is a saiga 12 something, my favourite weopon because you can add a scope and silencer to it ( I know a silencer on a shotgun lol)

the mutant is called a Izlom and they are my favorite one (if you want me to tell you some secrets and cool stuff about the Izlom just ask, you won't regret it)

im having problems downloading arsenal mod

oblivion lost worked just fine but when i downloaded the arsenal mod and the patch to merge the two mods it gives me some bugtrap thing when i go to start my game so i removed them both and tried only arsenal mod and it still didnt work please tell me how you did it

A lot of those reload sound effects sound harsh and exaggerated, almost like the weapons are broken or the magazines and/or bolts don't fit quite right. Master difficulty makes your weapons feel pathetically weak. Notice at the beginning how many headshots it t0ok to put that Izlom down with a Saiga.

Well, maybe the OL modders should tweak a bit the mod along with Arsenal. But even on Master difficulty the weapons are way more powerful than in the original STALKER game. With an regular AK-47 you can kill a soldier with 3 or 4 shots. Almost like real life (I think).

@RealLifeGames realistic would b 1 shot 1 kill with an ak :) its a big 7.62x39mm slug that makes a small entry hole but the other side would b more or less gutted ;3 & thats the plain ammo not the explosive dum dum AP ammo >:)

The sound seems to be a problem with Fraps but in game it's OK.

Also I changed the brightness and contrast in the game options to give a more dark feel to the game.

I was wondering if you can help me man ... I CANNOT GET MODS TO WORK ... i downloaded OL 2.2 and i get the menu different enter the zone ... yadayada but i get errors .. it will not begin ... i need help man ... i have been working on it 4 ever and it aint workin ...

Check if your OL is compatible with the version of your game. The mod works better with the 1.005 patch of STALKER.
