I read the Rabbi's book. Seems to me what he says has some merit. It is hard to read his tone, as he can seem judgmental. It may have been very hard for MJ as well, and perhaps led to the erosion of their friendship. Yet, I find myself wishing the Rabbi could have led with his heart, instead of his sense of rightousness. MJ might have been able to take criticism better, been more helped, and would still be among us today.
I believe in Most of what Rabbi Schmuley said in the book. There were times when he spoke in a manner of how he Perceived Michael to be. They weren't around each other like a family All the time, so it is impossible to judge. They were different from each other. One like an authoritative instructor and the other like a down to earth and broken student. It would have been nice if Michael could have learned all that from a person who would normally understand his type or personality. He needed it.
