  • i dont know why but this song makes me feel alive xD

  • riverstorm108 is very smart he speeks the truth

  • Dear You Tube,

Also stay away from smosh u annoying ads! i logged on to hear "GIVE UP GIVE UP AND FEED THE MACHINE!" Instead i get:

are u tired of breakouts? waking up before school and bippity bop they're there? FFFFFFAR OUUUUUUT

  • @MegaWokwok AdBlocker on Google Chrome. Kill the machine, baby.

  • Shut up with Ron Paul shit, idiots. Obama has already done more than any other of those idiots put together. Imagine if your congress wasn't such a load of shit.

  • IREAPZZ XD

  • RADD!!! i seen them in concert it was pure awesomness i got front row seats the bad thing is it soooooo much head banging i needed 2 alieve after it was over the best head ache i ever had!!:D!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @cpuser37 Thats how I heard of them too, only it was because the main riff in this is nearly identical to Build me up Break me Down. Petrucci was "influenced" I suppose, which is saying a lot.

  • Ron Paul 2012 bitches!!!

  • @chris1129s WAKE UP!! WAKE UP!!!

Yep, sounds about right. Ron Paul 2012!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this song would go great with The Hunger Games? 8D I love this song, it's addicting.

  • hay..i found this new drug its very addicting i cant get enough of it its called RED!!

  • This song is pure awesomeness.

  • My new favorite song. Just sounds purely amazing.

  • :O It can eat?

  • I'm usually a hip-hopper but damn, I'm really impressed by this one!

  • FEED THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny how I hear so much of this religious stuff, and yet the music video is about a literal machine operated by what looks to be the U.S. Army.

  • @SlateofGranite they're not the US Army, they're tactical operators/ prison riot guards that represent demons.

  • "This was posted on facebook by the guitarist Randy after getting asked what this song means. The world is the machine. 'The crap this world has to offer and the things the world tells us we need to be.'"

  • i love God and i love to destroy the machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!! freaking to smash that crap!!!!!!!!

  • Am I the only one who, while listening to this, thinks of angels and demons battling each other when someone is trying to decide if they want to do the right thing or the wrong thing?

    Wow...I really have an imagination.

  • This really doesn't sound that much like Build Me Up, Break Me Down. They're both metal songs...that's about it

  • Just to disagree, I say the machine is materialism.

  • "SME restricts playback of this video in playlists. Watch this video in a stand-alone player."

Erm... wtf, thats crap because this song its awesome!!

  • the machine is the devil.

feeding the machine referrs to sinning, as you are only feeding it with what it wants. waking up and killing the machine is the cleansing of your sin when you ask for forgiveness from God.

well, thats my translation of the song.

  • @Riverstorm108 Agreed.

  • @Riverstorm108 i agreee thiat would be my literal intepretation... but i also like to use this as a call of duty nazi zombie song where the machine is the zombies and you have to wake up and kill them all... jjust thought id through that out there

  • @Riverstorm108 Amen ^.\\

  • @Riverstorm108 I love it!!! :D That's how I interpreted it as well

  • @Riverstorm108 Iteresting translation. I see it more as following the lie of false religion and finally breaking free of their trechory.

  • @Riverstorm108

you mean interpretation? Suppose it has anything to do with corrupt politicians or governments?

  • @Riverstorm108 Well, actually, the word Machine refers to government most of the time. And this is most likely about government's control over it's citizens, and it's intentional disasters that people fall for, hence "you never disappoint them." In turn, this could relate to man's sin, though. So on that I agree.

  • @Riverstorm108 Your saying this is a Christian band then?

  • @bbdog141414

it says on biographys and such that they are, but i translate the songs into other important stuff in life

  • @Riverstorm108 I see the machine being the government.

  • @Poker928 I see it as a combination of both, and then some.

  • @Poker928 So do i lol

  • @Riverstorm108 I think that is one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at it is really, based on the media. Giving into the media and becoming like everyone else. Which is also kind of like the Devil.

  • @MegaHelloKitteh I agree. Screw the media.

  • Comment removed

  • @Riverstorm108 when i heard this is thought of how people expect you to be a certain way and you have to do what they say to get their approval. like the new kid trying to get the popular kids approval or somethin

  • @redtailedhawkdude Or the Political correctness agenda? Follow it or become a social pariah, seems pretty controlling.

  • @Riverstorm108 I saw it the same way. Especially since the end is like the peaceful opera music that you see at the end of a movie kind of like saying it is done.

  • thumbs up if music choice brought u here

  • hey if you like red and avatar the last airbender watch my amv i made to fight inside :) its epic just look up

avatar the last airbender fight inside amv

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE AWESOME MUSIC

  • This song is stuck in my head, it's epic :D

  • About the whole DT/RED thing, the guitarist for DT (Petrucci) said that RED's 'Until They Have Faces' was his favorite album of the year. Thus, it makes sense that one of the songs may sound familiar; he's just throwing in a tiny easter egg for people who listen to all music.

  • LIE!

    And you get a spankin!

  • i bet 89% of you wont read this, but to the 19% who do i cannot thank you enough

all my life ive wanted to be a turtle. Every day i spend countless hours studying and pretending to be a turtle. i have recently nailed a wooden shell around my torso. all i ask is that you thumbs up this status so you can see. My family fully supports me but i know more people who thumbs this up, the more closer i come to being a turtle. Thank you.

  • @jak2165 Y U NO LIKE, LIKE BUTTON?!

  • @jak2165 89+19=108%, what is this madness?

  • @22Wyattj Witchcraft!

  • It does indeed sound very much like Build Me Up, Break Me Down on Dream Theater's new album (also from 2011). Not sure which song was recorded first? Who ripped off whom?

  • @TheAdam159 Dream Theater's Album with that song was released in September of this year, RED's Album with this song was released in February of this year.

  • Do you think a Metallica fan would like Red, especially this album?

  • @Moonddust im a metallica fan, and yes i do

  • @Moonddust Yes.

  • DON'T LIKE ENDING, TOO LONG D':

  • @Devilboy666100 That's what she said much?

  • <3

  • Dream Theater are PLAGIARISTS!

  • @MIKEPEARTNOY someone doesnt know anything bout music,...you do know they have/had and may still have the best drummer/s and the best guitarists and everything else right

  • @MIKEPEARTNOY Umadbro?

  • same as build me up break me down, said portnoy

  • @rudess84 Who cares, Dream Theater rules!!

  • ;D!

  • Anybody else notice that the e is backwards?

  • @13nrandom The band call themselves R3D

  • Powerful, and convicting lyrics always

  • @PIKACHU49386 but one of the points of christianity is anti-materialism. But it could also be talking about sin.

  • The chorus gives me goosebumps EVERY time!!

  • amazing song! hymn to the missing is still my favorite though!!

  • The machine. I say it's the materialistic society we live in.

  • @13nrandom Since this is a christian band, I was thinking the machine would be sin itself. Kind of like X from the song Dear X by Disciple. I guess it's whatever the listeners believe. But that makes sense too.

  • so, this is where build me up, break me down song by dream theater was influenced. I liked it, I think im going to listen to the album soon.

  • @PowerRushFlame

Lol also, just read that John Petrucci named this album as his top album of 2011

  • @Vdrum1010 that's how i got here ahahah :) it was a surprise for me that this was his fav album ( I didnt knew the band) but it was a nice surprise

  • U guys. These guys may not look like a chrisitan band, but they are. This song is bout killing the matchine. That means ask god to forgive your sins. Feeding the matchine means doing to much sin. Killing the matchine is a nother way of asking God to save us from are sins.

  • Wake up and KILL THE MACHINE!

  • @truerealgamer Yeah man.

  • @truerealgamer 30 seconds to mars....

  • @trhertzi I meant to say worldly sorry haha.

  • @trhertzi If you watched more of RED's videos you would see that the "Machine" isn't Christianity. It's the world. The song is giving a sarcastic view of the world telling you to give up and feed the machine. Telling you to follow worldy ideals instead of following your own.

  • @Shanamac01 It's not telling you TO follow civilizations ideals, but rather to break away from civ's ideals and follow your own. (you may have been saying the exact same thing, just accidentaly typed it wrong, or worded it weird.... not quite sure...) :P

  • haha thanks deathangel

  • concert

  • I love red going to the cocert

  • RED RULES!!!

  • @trhertzi wow, thats so wrong, he says WAKE UP which is god telling people to wake up and see that the devil is deceiving them and join jesus, and the machine is the devil, god is no machine, the devil is. get it straight. he says KILL THE MACHINE at the end.

  • @trhertzi they are pure christian, i love this band! and at the end they say kill the machine, its not christianity, god is not a machine, the devil is.

  • I had no idea who Ireapzz was before I went on these songs.

  • I drive fast to this.

  • yea im viewer number 252,000

  • This song alone holds more power and meaning than all of that secular crap about sex and partying. WAKE UP AND KILL THE MACHINE!!!!!!!

  • i saw them in concert in bakersfield on thursday, best first concert i've ever been to <3 I have to do an art project based on this song. so amazing :D

  • thank you for being there when im so angry you calm me :)

  • 2:56 WANKER WANKER WANKEEEER!

  • EPIC!!!

  • my #1 favorite song

  • Wonder Why skillet gets most views and Red dosn't

  • Breaking Benjamin,Red,Rise Againt, 3TG,30STM!

Thumbs up if ur a real rock fan!

  • @Enilightmeh You forgot Alter Bridge, if you haven't heard them definitely take a look.

  • @TheHTVfanatic He forgot a lot of other awesome bands...

  • @Enilightmeh lol, real rock.

  • @Enilightmeh Yeah, I like rock, mostly of the sedimentary variety.

  • @Enilightmeh You think those are "real" Rock bands...

    XD

  • @Purdonnnnn1873

  • Not speaking for anyone apart from myself, but this is probably the best song I'VE heard from Red wether you guys agree, i don't really care, this songs amazing!

  • I got there autograph at winterjam 2011

  • Skillet has officially been dethroned.

  • @markofashes ouch! :D i like them both.

  • @markofashes no they havent

  • 3 words to this song I LOVE IT see them live at the winter jam in january.

  • Christian rock sucks 95% of the time; this is one of the exceptions.

  • I used to listen to this in the shower. My friend would bang her wet hair dry to this song! :]. Pretty epic!

  • IreapZz sent me:D

  • 14 people didnt wake up and kill the machine

  • 14 people feed the machine and didnt wake up

  • Comment removed

  • 14 people fall in line and live the lie.

  • ummm who the HECK disliked this!?!?!?

  • @BlueShadow463 Possibly people who dont have a decent music taste (Beliebers and all those)

  • im not christian but when i listen to red and think about what there singing about it isnt just about a "god" but much more then that. these guys write some of the best shit ive ever heard no matter how many times i listen to there CD's they never get old. fuckin love this stuff

  • @myGodsAreAliens thats so true man. like i mean, even tho i am a christian i dont listen to 'christian' music. I listen to music that i like. i listen to eminem, jay-z, etc. because I like them. These guys (red) have huge talent. Red forever!

  • @myGodsAreAliens than* i'm* isn't* God* i've* their*

  • @myGodsAreAliens You are right. They aren't just singing about "a god". They are singing about "the God". The greatest conceivable being is "much more than that" as you said. If any meaning other than what Red attributes to the song is claimed, then the one claiming it is merely stating an subjective opinion.

  • who came to this song after ireapzz?

  • Comment removed

  • It's funny. In atheist. And I absolutely love Red.

  • RED FTW!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOO

  • Alot of people have to deal with others trying to make them be something they aren't. Don't be so selfish.

  • I actually have a comment, like i said, not religious, but you think Christians are the only ones being forced to be something theyre not? My old friend Kylie used to beat y her fucking father because she didn't want to live life as christian, she was spiritual like me, and her parents hated her, acted at times as if she wasn't theyre child, i was there once and Kylie said she will not be something she doesn't want to be, and her father hit slapped her, and i beat the shit out of him.

  • @iXxGAARAxXl Beat by her father* and mother aswell actually.

  • @iXxGAARAxXl Good job

  • its about time us christians got a band that we can rock way harder to then skillet....

  • @mrfastball99 agreed. Although I already found other hard rocking bands, like august burns red.

  • LIE! uh...okay. How bout BUY THIS CD! Sure! How bout 2?

  • wouldnt everyone like to "wake up and kill the machine"

  • I feel bad for the 14 people who got fed to the machine.

  • @Crazymonkeyboss I do to. but i believe, forgive me if i'm wrong, but lost people who never realize of jesus love before it's too late and they are damned to hell. Or temporal things of the world. But i really can't tell.

  • 0:52 - 1:23 is my ring tone

  • OMFG NO WORDS!

  • @taxinhaify Description
