Back in the early 70's I happened to be hitch hiking in the Hill country of Texas....lost as a goose....trying to find my way back to my car after a canoe trip when a "blue hair" in a Continental picked me up. During our trip, I came to understand...her son played in a band out of Austin..She explained this to me while we were doing 80 on a 2 lane blacktop! Turns out ...this is her son!
@MsDragon254 - I BET YOU WOULD BE THE ONE TO KNOW ABOUT SUCKING TOO!
THIS IS A CLASSICAL NUMBER WRITTEN IN 1611 BY VEE VOE VON SNUCK - PLAYED BY ALL REAL MUSICIANS - BESIDES, ONE DAY COMMANDER CODY WILL KICK YOUR ASS - ROFL!
And You Know What Who Ever The Fuck That Is, I Would Really Like To See Him Try And Kick My Ass,
#1 - He Doesnt Know Where i Am,
#2 I Dont Think You OR The Commander Who Ever The Fuck, Wants To Get Sewed
Oh And I DONT CARE If Its A Classic, I Have My Opinion And I Say It Sucks, Nothing You Can Say Is Ever Gonna Change My Mind.. Thank You Ass WHole, And Hope You HAve A Suckish JACK OFF Life!!!!!!
If you don't like the song, how come you take the time to look it up, giving it another veiw, and put a bad comment on it? Do you like fighting with people on Youtube?
Again, not trying to be mean, or sound like an ass, I'm just wondering...
I saw these guys in concert later in their career when they were doing the Fair Circut. We had front row seats and it was probably the best concert I have ever been to, and I have been to a bunch. I love em. They really know how to put on a show.
Saw them at the Ventura County Fair maybe 10 years ago. I couldn't believe they were playing a side stage and not the Grandstand. They were only a few of us diggin' it at first, but when they finished there was a huge crowd. People at the grandstand left whoever was playing and came to see AATW!!! They're the tightest live band I ever saw and for 6 bucks, what a suprise and what a show.
I saw them in the early 80s in Indy at the Vogue theater. They were great, had everyone dancing the night away, including me. I've always thought their sound was better when Chris O'Connell was part of the group. Her voice matched their sound so perfectly.
I saw Asleep at the Wheel perform this live at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock NY! My sis lives in Texas and says they are huge in the Lone Star State! They do a great performance of this song!!!! AND it's good to hear it revived and played the way it should be; very instrumentally creative!!!
actually this song was written and recorded by Charlie Ryan in thelate 50's,recorded by Roger Miller in early sixties.Johnny Bond in Late sixties..and the by Commander Cody in 71
Actually, Johnny Cash didn't do "Hot Rod Lincoln". You're thinking of his "One piece at a Time", a similar sounding rockabilly car song about a Cadillac. Some of these bogus lyric sites on line put Johnny Cash's name on "Hot Rod Lincoln", they are wrong.
I much prefer this version to Commander Cody's, but that's because this was the first version of it that I ever heard.
