is any of you still in edinburgh? i really like your short film. indeed i had the similar situation, when i felt over ice and a person begging in the street helped me.
i am organizing an informal group for filmmakers in edinburgh + i am a qualified social worker. that would be interesting to get in touch.
Aww, I thought she'd go back to him and say come on, let's walk. Very nicely made film. I spent years on and off the streets - and got sorted, luckily. Gave up the drink - that's how I got sorted. I know there are plenty of homeless folk who don't drink or take drugs and it's sad that Mr and Mrs Passerby perceive them all to be addicts. I wish good luck to anyone who's having problems.
@mattwsims80 Addicts do not have a choice. No addict or alcoholic CHOSE it. If you are an addict, your body NEEDS what you are addicted to. It's not a choice and it never was. BUT with support, people CAN get off the drink and drugs. I did it. But during my worst times, I never woke and thought, "Ooh, nice day. What will I do?" More like: "NEED BOOZE." End of story. NO choice. Get over the initial few days of terror and you take it from there - THAT'S when you start to have a choice.
I used a XA H1 (its HD but we didnt shoot in HD cause of the time limit we had). I used Adobe Premiere and Adobe after effects for color correction...
That's a realnice "film look"you have there. It almost looks as if you used the bleach bypass on this. That's a nice camera too, I have the Gl2 myself.
it was in around 4 5 in the afternoon... it was a thursday. yeah we could have come up with diff stories but we had less than 24 hours to make this film. So it was a quick decission ;)
Nice film - I like the style. Cockburn Street seems dead - what time is this?
What would have been even more facinating would be for you to capture the prevelance of Romanian women on the streets - and how the return to their plush houses after being collected by their husbands/pimps.
do u no that ppl get more money from beggin in th streets than a normal job FACT
