  • I love the suspense of this video, very unique considering the usual tone of Sagan's remarks.

  • Great vid but the music is too loud.

  • I have to say out of all your previous videos which were lovely btw this one is my least favorite not due to what carl sagan is saying that never fails me but to the musical choice i found this particular track to be very unfitting of this video and i honestly found it unsettling to listen to rather than comforting like with the other videos i was planning to sleep on this video since i havent watched it yet but instead i had to open another 1 of your tibute series cuz this1 didnt work for me

  • You are criminally under-subscribed. You do an amazing job using Sagan's voice and bits of his series and merging them with new visuals and music. I truly enjoyed every one of your videos and looking forward to much, much more!

  • these videos are very enlightening. its a shame not more people are interested in watching these videos.

  • Simply amazing.

  • I wish the musical score would stop trying to interrupt him.

  • This should be shown in schools, not even kidding

  • I very much enjoy this video. I gave it a thumbs down, however, because the chart thing said "1 dislikes", plural, and it was kind of bugging me.

Also the music seems really incongruous with the words at some points.

  • I think that people are not big fans of this one because it's so stark and brutally honest about not only the fate of the universe but the fate of the person watching. :( I don't want to die!

  • Television COULD be such a remarkable educational tool, as evidenced by anything touched by Carl Sagan. But, with television as in so many other things, our species is doing a horrible, embarassing job. The abysmal stupidity of the masses makes me wonder how we've made it as far as we have.

  • love it! wow thank you so much

  • If space is infinitely old, then it is also infinitely new. If time is eternally long, then it is also eternally brief.

  • Regarding the music. I think the choice of music does not perfectly match the subject matter and tone. This is understandable. The volume, however, is the greater culprit. Sagan's voice is from an old, analog recording with ambient noise in the background. You have a high quality music recording playing at a distractingly high volume over his speech. The music is competing with Sagan for the listeners attention. Thank you for putting these videos together. Maybe you will re-up future improvments

  • Thank you so much for making these. They're beautiful.

  • You made the right decision to implement a mystical sounding music to give company to profound questions that are origin and death.

  • I think people are not so fond of this one because Dr. Sagan talks about the ultimate mortality. :(

  • My theory is (for the big bang) that an exetremely advanced intelligent lifeform was testing or using an enormous bomb, then boom. Possibly "God" was just one of the first intelligent specices in the galaxy. Just something to think about...

  • In the endlessly expanding Universe, matter itself would decay. Even stable ol' Hydrogen-1 would go nuclear!

  • i like the music on this one :x

  • What tree is that??Behind Carl starting at 3.50???

  • @TheOberon8 It looks like a Weeping Willow.

  • With a man as remarkably valuable and gifted as Carl Sagan on the screen and in the speakers, no human being capable of understanding his speech seem be willing to press the 'dislike' button..

If one should come to show himself or herself and perchance leaves a comment, please, be civil at least :)

  • please upload more! they are excellent.

  • i'm procrastinating

  • thank you sir

  • I Appreciate very much your job, only a single critic trough the 6 videos, in one of the videos Carl talk about extraterrestrial intelligence and you put an alien with two eyes, pretty much the typical image of alien we humans have made, Sagan of course point out this idea as an example of chauvinism, anyway how else then wold you represent extraterrestrial intelligence . I just thought it was valid to point that Sagan himself talk about this wrong conception about aliens. Thank you

  • @dafeac I agree wholeheartedly! The problem is, because of this chauvinism, it is hard to find an non-anthropocentric alien. Moreover, as you correctly pointed out, any extraterrestrial we ever come across would look wildly different than anything we can imagine, because of the random nature of natural selection; for this reason, any alien I would have chosen would share the same anthropocentric look. It's not really a battle you can win, either way.

  • @dafeac if you look at the average life form on earth, all have two eyes.the evolution of brains and light detecting cells evolved that way because of the light produced by our Sun.2 eyes was better to have when seeking food or avoid being eaten.depending on the complexity of the brain, having more then 2 eyes required more data processing .over time evolution will simplify an organism to an optimal result.now maybe these principals applies to all life form

  • @dafeac Why would it be wrong to suspect that? If all life starts the same way and they are also of carbon based life why might they not look similar to beings of earth?

  • @ Recently I heard something about it, Richard Dawkings and Neil Tyson appear at a conference, Richard said he suspected another intelligent life form probably where to be bipedal, Neil discarded the idea, but they move along and didn't say much.

Life on earth at the bottom of the sea, looks pretty werid, and that form of life developed in our planet, same buildingblocks, they are even far relatives, life is also shaped by events, don't know, the place to solve doubts: Extraterrestrail life, wiki

  • Love!

Made me laugh how he said "blobs" and "globular"

  • I am a huge fan of the series and love Carl Sagan, but I wasn't a huge fan of the music selection for this one.

  • @schwartzxc13 I'm sorry to hear that! I try to make every part of the series unique in its own way, and it appears as though that didn't work out so well this time. Though I will say that the choice in music for this video was necessitated by having to hide distortion which was caused by the removal of the original music from Cosmos (from which this video is derived).

With that said, you will be happy to hear that parts 7 and 8 are closer to part 1 than they are to parts 5 and 6.

  • @callumCGLP The first three minutes of "Life and Death" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard. I wish it could have been used more in this video (such as in the last few minutes).

Regardless, I still love the videos you make and get excited every time you make a new one.

  • The music is a little too loud on this one...Sounds like too much going on, or it just doesn't fit...

  • Callum- you and John (Melodysheep) are like the John and Charles Wesley of science!

  • Another great tribute! For anyone who's interested, a lot of answers to the questions Carl poses in this video are found in "a universe from nothing" video by Lawrence Krauss.

  • Saw this in my subscribed videos and the biggest rush of happiness came over me. Keep it up man, these are brilliant.

  • So when is PBS gonna contact you to rework the cosmos series to this modern remake. I love this tribute series keep it up!

  • This is incredible. Very well done!

  • THE MUSIC IS FROM LOST

  • The composer of Lost's score did this music.

  • Amazing as usual Callum

  • What a great way to start an already tiresome Monday.

Thanks for these yet again, Callum! You're truly great at this!

  • (1:112:20) – Best part of the video. The music was just right and matched what Carl was articulating perfectly. I’ll admit, my mind was completely captivated and almost “separated” for that minute and nine seconds.

  • SO EXCITED!

  • Great job as always, but i didnt like the music in this one-too tense. I perfer the more relaxing music found in the other tributes.

  • Lost soundtrack :)

  • Nicely done. Great incorporation of recent graphics with Sagan's message.

  • I love your tribute series! This gets a thumbs up & favorite.

  • every time you upload another part of this series, I get overwhelmingly happy ^3^

  • oh god yes

  • I FUCKING LOVE THESE

  • <3333333333333 Carl Sagan :D

  • @pastordisastor lol gay fucker.

  • @MissRickiLynn Uncalled for.

  • @Shabbyorange101 but i love him :p
