  • @unica1357 you need a really tasty treat for this, use small pieces of real meat if you are not already doing so.

  • @zsianz1

  • Your absolutely fantastic! I love watching your videos for cool tricks to try with my dog :)

  • my dog can do the crawl!

she learned it when she was hiding under the bed.......escaping from me!

  • So cute! I started teaching my border collie mix this about an hour ago, not having seen this video yet. I started teaching her to walk on my feet today too, but it looks like it may take a few sessions. Do you have any tips on getting your dog to stand between your legs/underneath you? I've tried luring her around, but she often gets distracted halfway around.

  • Awwww Holly and Mabel......Love them, they're great.

  • do you think my 6 month old sheltie would be able to learn this? he nos how to sit on command lay on command stay on command and roll over on command plzz answer thanks

  • ahhh! youtube won't let me post my comment to you, I'll mail you. but yes I think you will be able to train this for sure :-)

  • cute vid!

  • is hotdogs ok for a treat? how will i prepare it? is it fried? i really dont know. my dog gets diarrhea whenever i feed her cooked food. help me please. thanks! im kinda new to this.

  • When youre deciding on what treats to use you should choose a healthy option (hot dogs and cheese are ok once in a while if youre training a new trick and want extra enthusiasm but not an every day thing) and you want to use something that agrees with your dog so no cooked food if it upsets your dog and finally something that your dog LOVES! Your treats should be small, pea sized. Raw mince might be an option (bit yuk to touch though!) lamb might be ok?, mail me if you want more tips :-)

  • Wow, Great video!!! How can you add a verbal command to this?

  • Once your dog is crawling with the hand signal (moving the treat along the floor) Say "crawl" AS your dog is crawling and after doing this lots of times start saying "crawl" earlier and earlier until you're saying it before your dog is crawling. also check out my video on phasing out hand signals for the crawl. mail me any other questions you have :-)

  • thanx my mom is the only ony]e who teaches my border collie and now i can

  • well done! great! is it hard to teach an eight week old puppy? my dog is a 3 month old shih tzu, do you think she can do that? my dog is kinda stubborn. hehehe.what should i do to make her follow me? thanks for your videos! i need your advise. thanksa again!

  • Well Mabel did this pretty naturally so it wasn't a big deal to train her really. yep I think your shih tzu could do this with a bit of practice. remember to keep training sessions short (like 5 minutes) and fun. mail me if you need anymore advice. oh and try using real meat for treats rather than dog food.

  • What a nice video, I love the moment when Holly stops to sniff at the door, she made me laugh! And how adorable that puppy is. Pity they grow up so quickly ;-) The music is funny, too, only - I just wish I could hear your clicks, especially at the beginning.

Keep up the good work and thanks for your tutorials!

  • Thank you, oh yes I am leaving the clicks in in my more recent videos as I now realize that it's a help to be able to hear them :-)

  • cool video. I'm a sorta newbie clicker trainer & I have a couple questions. How do you go from luring the dog with your hand to having them just crawl. i can put my fist down without a treat but if I dont put my fist on the floor my dog wont do it. how do I fix that? And also, maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand the part where you put your foot in front of her and kind of block her as she crawls. why do you do that? how does that translate to her doing it in heel position?

  • Lovely! Thanks for posting. I love teaching tricks to my dogs, they seem to like the time we share very much, and it's just the same for me. I'm very looking forward for a "play dead"" tutorial ;)) Bye!

  • thank you for posting this!!

we are trying to teach my puppy to do this

    and this is very helpful!!

  • I have to teach this one, well done!

  • Thank you so much for all your nice comments :-) I really appreciate it so much!

  • It is a pleasure to tell you how much I appreciate your hard work!

  • Oh thank you so much, it really does mean a lot to me. Thank you again for taking the time to watch my videos and comment.

  • Do you know if border collies or any kind of shepherd dogs do well with other types?

  • Cool, this was really helpful.

    What breed is Mabel?

  • good, I'm so glad you found it a help! Mabel is a Border Collie too, she is a merle. Happy New Year!

  • Ah, OK. Thought maybe it could be a Aussie, since I've actually never seen a Border Collie with the Blue Merle colours :D

  • Nice job... I'll give it a try.

  • Thanks! Im really excited to have a comment from you as I love your videos :-)

  • Thanks! One of my dogs, Gorgeous, is on rest for a month due to an injury and I need some ideas and "motivation" to teach her some tricks. I need to keep her mind busy, so long as I can't keep her body busy other than what she does on her own. So far I just have the "sit pretty" down along with teaching Handsome too. I'll start teaching the crawl tonight.

  • Oh poor Gorgeous, its really hard to come up with stuff for such active dogs if they need to rest. I saw her in her crate jumping around, really cute but not good if she needs to rest! I hope you get on well with crawling and thanks so much again for your comment :-)

  • Wow, this video made it look so easy. My black lab is so excitable that he will crawl but only for a couple seconds then he will pop up and then roll over then sit, he's basically just so anxious for the treat while not having the patience to slowly crawl for the treat he starts doing all the basic commands that give quick treats. He also has seperation anxiety and his excitement seems to stem from that. But I loved your video and the puppy is so cute! Thank you for posting this. Keep at it

  • Cool exercise!!

    Greetings

    Pere

  • Thanks! Im a big fan of your videos! :-)

  • Holly is such a good girl! She seems far less excitable than when I last saw her. She must be really enjoying the training. That's the thing with border collies, they're so darn clever, they need the challenge & stimulation. Well done you!

  • Just wonderful.Fantastic how to video. Please keep the clips coming.

  • Thanks :-) really glad you enjoyed it!

  • p.s. good training video for Halloween!

  • Haha! I had to subscribe and 'favorite' this video! Simply awesome! Most how to crawl videos the people are asking to much too quickly. Holly is adorable! Cute puppy too, is this Holly's new sister?

  • Thanks so much! As you know you have been my inspiration for even starting clicker training and Holly has finally got an outlet for all her energy and enthusiasm, we both owe you a lot! I have only had Mabel a week and she already responds to the clicker! Clicker training is the magic secret that every dog owner should know.

  • Keep up the amazing videos! I am sure you will get many many more people and dogs hooked on clicker training!
