Well, that's what would happen in real life. Though many liberties are made, Kojima put alot of effort into making the stories believeable and realistic. Despite how bad-assed we all find Solid Snake, do you really think the U.S. gov't would give that much of a damn if he died? No. They'd replace him. Also telling the story of MGS2 from Raiden's point of view showed how a REAL human would handle Snake-type crises and reminded players why Snake is so bad-assed, thus builing up the legend.

Dude, read it again. "THOUGH MANY LIBERTIES WERE MADE,...." and many of Kojima's crazier plot twist( granted not all) are loosly based on some form of reality. Medical science is very capable of grafting appendages to people's bodies. (i.e. John Bobbitt) Of course, the personality take over was use of artistic license. I'm fully aware it's a game. That's why I wrote to you in a rational manner, rather than coming off as a sarcastic jackass.
