I'm 47 years young, started listen to both The Cars and The Cure when I was 14, saw the Cars twice and the Cure four times, they both put on great concerts, AND I will die a Cars and a Cure fan!
Is it me or did The Cars start to go down hill with this album? Don't get me wrong I am still a big fan of them,I just feel they did sound the same starting with this album.
The set list from their show tonight in Seatle... as reported by fans. Good Times Roll Blue Tip Since You’re Gone Up and Down My Best Friend’s Girl Hits Me Touch and Go I’m in Touch With Your World Keep on Knocking You Might Think Drag on Forever Free I’m Not the One Heartbeat City Let’s Go Moving in Stereo Moving in Stereo (again) Encore: Sad Song Just What I Needed
Back in the day from years gone past, the Cars had one good hit after the other, so why the fxxk are they not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? They pretty much covered every musical genre; pop, rock, punk, new wave & beautiful ballads, like "Drive." I've seen other acts that are of lesser effort that are inducted. I smell cronyism with a capitol F.U.!
@stp88661 I wonder the same thing, and now rap/hip hop bands are being inducted which is a joke. Hip hop shouldn't belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at all, totally different type of music.
Great Sound, distinctively "CARS" >> I feel sorry for all the people who are missing out by not hearing "ALL" of the Cars songs. So many never got the credit and airtime that they deserve. That's why the "TUBE" is so good. R.I.P. Benjamin. Thanks guys for putting out that kickazz sound for 10 years...
I remember the first time i heard the cars senior year i was really into disco...was in a friends room when he put this on....it was the beginning of my new wave love....
@poppinfresh79 the CARS were the band who saved us from disco lol Also the CARS were not just a newwave band. The CARS were also guitar rock, listen to Let the Good Tiems Roll, Just What I Needed, Shake it Up, You Might Think, all of the songs have a guitar solo in them
I was a DJ in a place called STRUTS, in Houston...where I wore this song out
...playin' it all the time- I'd have to agree, it might have been a bigger hit...But then again, that's when, what was and wasn't heard-was totally in the hands of the big record companies.Bad guys. this tune reminds me of Elllll-vis..!
When I listen to the cars I distinctly hear rock and roll, blues, funk, new wave, country, glam, punk, europop, rockabilly, techno, and even grunge, in less than four measures.
Wow. Another good song from The Cars. Although this song was released in 1981, it sounds more like a mid-1980s beat or bass, whatever you call it. Anyways, The Cars rule! They are one of the most unique bands of all time. They cannot be topped or beat!
About 10 yrs ago my cocker spaniel was laying on my bed chewing on a bone...I was playing this album...when he heard the synth at the beginning...he stopped what he was doing and his ears went up...
funny as hell!
It was way cool to have a dog that listened to the cars, LOL
@jokingkong You are much correct! My favorite cars song of all time for sure! This song has it all!the energy this song emits has the house hopping along with the rock n roll hall of fame!this song is truly incredible!
@jokingkong I had the cassette and used to play it in my mom's car. I loved the whole thing. Then was influenced by my friends and listened to other bands instead, like the Police
...don't know about most underated, but it is a good one. Thanks for posting this song, I haven't heard it in years and brought back great memories when music was fun...
I'm so glad somebody finally put this song on. This always made me wanna dance. It should have been one of their biggest hits. I'd love to see a live performance of it. I heard there is one out there somewhere. Thanks!
