  • Continua a studiare e vedrai dei bei risultati. Auguri....

  • Brotha on a bass im lovin it man!!!!!

  • This isnt suit no 1?

  • i dont know that cello can be a bass LOL

  • @yaffiee me eh reido un muy buen rato jajajajaj

  • @yaffiee me eh reido un muy buen rato jajajajaj

  • Very impressive. I think you were a little nervous. I think you could play it a little slower and more musically though

  • a que hora cuenta el chiste??

  • I am playing this piece too.

    It is so much fun.

I am also playing the whole suite.

I dont think i can play as well as you since I am only in High School

  • impressive

  • you are my new hero!! :D that was incredible!!

  • this guy would be the master of the cello! if you can play that good on base

  • Wow!

  • tough instrument as most stringed instruments are. pretty good.

  • WHOAH! Great job!

  • From one upright bass player to another.

    FUCKING AMAZING.

  • wow.... veeery good, congratulations.

  • Very nice!!!

  • this isnt bach suite no. 1

but very good job on whatever you played lol :D

  • @TpainPDFR

It's the gigue from the suite no.1

  • really great technically speaking, BUT: sound could be better if the bow was perfectly straight, and placed better- I feel like the tone isn't perfectly centered. Also there really is a lack of overall musical feeling. It has energy, rhythm, but a lack of dynamic contrasts.

The left hand technique shows a lot of promise though. Bravo! If you fix the bow, the sound will be alot cleaner.

Also string crossing could be more refined.....

well thats my 2 cents....but I liked your playing overal

  • Very nicely done! Great command of the thumb position!!! I recently learned this on electric bass and posted a youtube video of my playing. I transposed it to D major to better suit the standard tuned 4 string bass. I can still reach all the notes, but not so high in thumb position like this version. I try to use hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides to imitate the bow on the slurs.

  • awesome!

  • Nice job

  • very good man!

  • I dont know why but black mans suits perfect for a bass players for me :) It is like serbians and trumpet

  • Man this is pretty good. Playing bass is such hard work sometimes, too! I sweated buckets when I used to play also!

  • well done and really fast. You have a great sound, nice instrument and good ENERGY! :D Intonation is my obsession so don't be mad but sometimes could be better. I know it's live! so only can say GREAT PERFORMANCE! :)

  • youre a jazz playing douche who shouldnt be judging with anyone playing bach!

  • I can because I play a lot of Bach on Double Bass too. Gamba Sonatas and Suites. I'm after classical studies so .... You do the math.

  • beautiful!

  • great job man!

  • Amazing!

    :D

  • great

  • Oh brother

  • Just a couple of suggestions: you're tempo is a bit fast and you might want to consider phrasing. It seems like you're ahead of the beat and not finishing off the phrases. also, you might want to work on your intonation. seems to be a bit screechy. overall, good job!

  • amazing

  • nicely done, sounds great

  • and i would like to ask wether his bass uses a baby bridge?

  • is it because of his bass or his techniques that made the song on the bass so much better? (as in when u played it at the first position)

  • I just realized something... are your strings different? Are you playing C G D A or something? Weird touch to it. Not bad playing either. Just watch out for the left hand and it'll be a breeze.

  • Good Job! There are some intonation and tempo problems, but good job!

  • um... not bad. Still a few things to work on, left hand is not as solid as it should be. The right had needs a little different things too. Bach suites aren't blasted out. Be more subtle (more baroque), and it'll sound better.

  • GUAU..... great song...... i like the sound of your duoblebass, very clasical....

  • Bravo : )

  • Really good sound. Intonation needs work...practice slower and with attention to the left hand. Great job!

  • i know i'm harsh

but i think you really need to care more about intonation..

    it's very fluent.

i'm not going to say anything about the tempo but i think you can breath more

    good job=]

  • Hmmm, I give you an... A, no... I give you the Alphabet! :O

Nice playing, I know something about... that instrument. Sometimes tells me you make it look easier than it is. I enjoyed listening to it.

  • awesome man!

  • the tempo could have been a bit slower, but otherwise not to shabby.

  • wow, some people don't understand that the bass is hard as hell to play.

  • @moonwalker51292

That is why people should practice a lil bit more.

And I'm not talking about this vid, I think it was cool.

  • @moonwalker51292 That is a tough movement on Bass and you played it really fast. Playing the high notes is not an easy feat on Bass at that fast tempo. I've played violin, viola, cello and bass, so I know just how difficult that is at a fast tempo on Bass. Congrats on your final recital.

  • Screw these guys. You killed it bro.

  • amazing

  • thanks the share!

    RESPECT!

  • it get incredibly hard to play on a bass !

I play this first cello suite nearly every days, and I'm really happy not to have to do all those insane fingering ! (and to have an instrument a bit lighter :) . anyway nice playing, i really enjoyed to ear a different musical color

  • Anyone know of any famous classical bass players?

  • gary karr, edgar meyer

  • I enjoyed listening to this. Thank you for posting it.

  • Very nice!!!

  • Bernat made a very good version of the suites for the bass. Most at pitch. If all else fails you can always buy the cello version and play it up an octave (or as written for easier reading)

  • Bernat's version has wrong notes everywhere. He also leaves out very important notes. Bradetich has a good version so does Hal robinson (although it's hard to find).

  • wow!! you're so good!!

  • thats very impressive, dont think this is negative because i only comment on the negative aspect, you have a lot going for you. i know that its a recital and extremely stressful but the stage presence you have and the music all seems very rushed and nervous. not a whole lot of musicality is put into the difficult notes, which you completely have down. so those things, although not minor in the least, i think wouldnt be that hard for you to work on. good luck and keep it up.

  • Wonderful choice of music. I'm playing the Gigue on viola for my governor's school audition. I now this song, stylistically, is tough on viola. For you to do it on classical bass definately speaks well of you ability.

  • amazing

  • Word!

  • I just love how it looks like you're at an improve club. lol

  • mah B its spelled. "Improv" =)

  • anybody know where i could get the six suites transcribed for the double bass. I need it for my finals and they don't have a copy here!! pleas e-mail any information about a sheet music website where i can get this

  • Man, good job, I dig it a lot. You got the tough little doodle-doos after the repeat pretty dead on, those are a pain. Love the sound, keep on rocking.

  • im doing the exact same peice in my end of year exams, on the same instrument. this has helped me a bunch

  • you're a monster in thumb position

  • Awesome work man! You have inspired me to take another look at this one. It sure is hard playing bach suites on bass ahaha.

  • if i had not seen it with my own eyes I'd mistake as a cello.

  • great job!

  • Nice playing! Do you have the rest of the suite?

  • Yeah I do and I'm thinking about uploading it, but truthfully the rest of the suite didn't go as well as the Gigue. Hey but if you like this video check out my Bottesini Conc. (all movts.). Also you can check my myspace page @ myspace./brandonbassfacemitchell

  • @DaveGrossmanSoloBass

    sorry I clicked wrong...

this new version of Youtube is kinda tricky....

  • Very nice! Beautiful instrument, too!
