this was not a free update. this was a file that came with civ 3 and can only be viewed by hacking the game files

Hacking? Really? I have Civ3 gold, and all I did was go to Civilization III/Art/Movies/Security_Briefi­ng.bik, and open it with RADVideo tools' bink video player, and RADVideo tools is a free utility from the makers of the .bik video format.
