my dad got this emailed to him. it didnt work so i watched it on here. i used to do ballet and i thought somone doing 4 pirotuettes without stopping was amazing but this....utstanding, even my dad who hates ballet loved it and was blow away. im suprised it hasnt had 1,000,000 veiws yet im pasting the link and posting the video onto my profile right now :D
I really think it's toooooo much circus... Swanlake was made for Art, and not for this... Tchaikovsky and Petipa would die watching this if they weren't dead already...
I think Tchaikovsky and Petipa would be thouroughly amazed at the grace and amazing skill, practice and endurance required to give this scene a vision of elegance. Do not try and box ballet, it is an art and should be allowed a modicum of self-expression. This is an amazing video and would love to see this performance.
Somebody just sent me this video. I don't usually even watch them (usually they're puppies and kittens singing Amazing Grace or something). This just blew me away. I thought I was seeing a computer-generated image at first. This is sheer courage: if you fall, you fall - so you'd have to have steely self-confidence and poise. This is one of those human feats that's hard to believe even while you're watching it.
Unbelievable! A promenade AND a layout , en pointe, atop some guy's head!!
As to eeoou's wondering how the Russians and Western countries would react to this: my guess is that they would consider it gimmicky and too much like a circus. STILL, amazing to watch!
WTF! THAT'S SO CRAZY! Amazing....
