Technologically the second one is better. But, from my point of view, the plot and the style of Max Payne 2 is far worse. It is just a bad looking parody on Max Payne... Max in the second part lost everything I liked about him, his grin, self-irony, his style. He looks just like typical hollywood actor, and, of course, as it is an american story, they made russian guy evil, though in the first part he wasn't.
