What did we as a society do to deserve the horrid music we have today? It's songs like "I'm on a boat" and all the horrible rap music I hear that makes me realize that after the 1980's, we lost the best music we ever created.
este fue el tema con el cual esta agrupacion se dio a conocer en venezuela no podia faltar en cualquier miniteca famosa de los 80,s q se considerara actualizada en temas bailables de la epoca
In 1984 I bought a cassette tape called "HEAT EXTENDED HOT MIXES" the same extended mix of this song is in there along with other songs mixed into it. your right this is a very rare extended dance mix. Thanks for sharing this song.. BTW!!.. I STILL HAVE THAT CASSETTE..
Terri Nunn...was that not the coolest album cover ever? Thanks for posting...if only it were in stereo! :( Giorgio Moroder always had things flying back and forth from the right speaker to the left, half the fun. The apex of my life was probably dancing to this in 1984 with a girl in a mini-skirt who resembled Terri, ha ha
I'm hoping you can upload the single version of Now It's My Turn. I think it's superior to the album version-- it's missing the reading of the Miranda Rights in the middle, but the backing vocals are fuller.
Same thing goes for Sheena Easton & Don Henley with the same rhythm track for .. Strut dance Mix & All She Wants To Do Is Dance Dance Mix .. i have both on 12" vinyl .. both mix well into each other & vice versa
I guess I rest my case. Like putting the famous Canon music 2 a whole heap of different songs in the 1 year so 2 speak & see how many come out a hit. It's been done a few times with the famous Bostons music, More than a feeling, I'm not talking about the same producer doing No More Words, Twist of Fate & Rush, Rush, but using the music from 1 hit song in other songs in the same way.
Twist of Fate? Man, check out Debbie Harry's Rush Rush (take a guess what year....1983! ). The backing track is REAL similar to this, that same synth "popping" beat.
The way this song breaks into that cool sound at 2:12 to 2:32 is exactly the same sound as Olivia Newton John's Twist of Fate at 2:12 to 2:32. They were both released in 1983. Very interesting!
@onlywhenimdancing I think that was the era of the music those days, & yes ur very right in what ur ears hear. Ur very good picking up sounds others would miss, I agree with u & believe ur right. Might have been the same music company doing both songs, this is common I found out.
@dazlisalon well, I have noticed that for years about these two songs but just decided to comment on it now. What I have always thouhgt was since Berlin's no more words came out first, David Foster, who produced Twist of Fate probably liked it and wanted to use a variation of it on his song he was working on for Olivia Newton-John. Thats one theory.
@onlywhenimdancing I've noticed the same beat music sound on a lot of other songs that came out that time, they've changed it to suit the song of course but I can tell they've used the same musical beat. It's like an 80's era thingy, lots of the pop music sounded the same as did the 90's etc; u just have a good ear 2 notice it like I u do.
@onlywhenimdancing I don't no who the producers is or any other producer, I just no they all get 2gether & experiment with the music. It's like they have only 1 or 2 music sheets 2 play with every era so 2 speak, few 2 many songs having the same beat & only few making the charts. Especially the extended versions, that's the theory I can only come up with, our ears don't lie. Well mine don't.
@onlywhenimdancing Love the song though & the singer, Twist of Fate as well. both have amazing voices & beautiful 2 look at, so the producer has taste in women as well as beat, even if he'd used the same music on both songs. It work for him & the others involved, I'd call this clever of him.
@onlywhenimdancing For example, there's Madonnas song Express Yourself, it matches with another song in the 80's, call Respect Yourself. Even the way both song r sung, they still sound the same 2 me, u would probable pick this out as well. I don't believe its an coincidence thingy, music company put music 2 a lot of different written songs all at the same time of released, some don't make the charts though like these songs did. Hope this helps a little.
I loved that song as a kid and I love it still for a man in his 40s. I loved the 80s. Songs of today, some of them now, are just bad! You rock Berlin, and Bananarama, Go Gos, and Madonna.
