  • this song is with a really good story, but still i'm amazed how perfectly cars are parked

  • Me encanta saber que aun existen grupos que nos despiertan sobre la verdad de la vida.....

  • This song reminds me of my friend that I considerd as a brother. We haven't seen or spoken in years. :(

  • Good job on the video, cheers.

  • This beginning of this song reminds me of a Beatles song but i don't know which one. Anybody here who does? Thanks

  • @Drannelable Nvm, found it. "and I love here"

  • I love your video!!! :)

did you get very tired from all the running?

from the peek inside your icebox, I think while out on the jog, you should have darted into the Tesco and bought a few things :D

    keep up the great work!

  • Great video for a great song!

  • Esta canción habla de Neil Young.

  • @DemianRusosky ¿Verdad?

  • that album su.cked balls!

  • @jeromed2 To each his own i suppose,,peace out

  • i can't really describe what this song might be about, it has bits that are almost hopeful then it changes and leaves you feeling sad

  • que bacan esta cancion gueon muy genial

  • great video... wow

  • The guitar inbetween verses kind of sounds like the tune of Club Can't Even Handle Me Right Now.

  • Very Good, althought those images would fit more to my interpretation of "Sleight of Hand".

  • Another great Pearl Jam song.

  • Great job on the video!

  • one of my favorite medolies

  • Oxford, my home town!

  • Congratulations man, you did a great job!!!!!!! thanks for shareing!!!!!!

  • nothing better than music that comes from the heart..It means us people with one can feel it

  • this song touch my soul... so deep inside

  • love this song like someone else said they just reach me in a way other music cant .its like they wright songs just about me amazing

  • I've written & recorded about 40 tracks, I listen to this & just think, why am I bothering ? This is so far beyond my comprehension as a 'song writer'........I hate Pearl Jam hah hah

  • which part of UK was this video shot?

  • "Like he's ridin on a motorbike in the the strongest winds"

  • I have been a die hard Pearl Jam fan since back in 1990. I have loved everysong that they have put out. No band reaches me the way they do. The song is awesome! Love the video concept too.

  • awesome, awesome video man. very creative, and i know LOTS of people can relate.

  • FAVORITE PEARL JAM SONG OTHER THAN GIVEN TO FLY!!!!!

  • Like it mate - love the song and think the video works well... in fact saw it copied on a much bigger budget... can’t remember who it was for

    cheers dude

  • Amazingly crafted video!

  • clip doesnt really have a narrative, but its put together ok.... keep trying... :)

  • @nilpointdotcom

No need to criticize. Beautiful song and the clip fits the mood.

  • @mertin13 meh

  • Beginning riff sounds like "I Love Her" by the Beatles.

  • When I used to be a die-hard fan of pearl jam No Code was my least favourite album (back then they only had until binaural) but now, that I really don't listen to them that much, this is by far my favourite one!

  • This album was dedicated to Jonny Ramone wasnt it?

  • Euro life is tough.

  • He just found out he has no penis.

  • This would be a great video if the song were about a man shaving and then running down the street to catch his bus!

  • So my friend just lent me a few Pearl Jam CD's to upload to iTunes. The other day I was driving to school and I had my iPod on shuffle when this song came on. I hadn't heard it before but as soon as it kicked in something clicked in my mind, so I stopped everything I was doing to see what song it was and just listened to it. It's just an awseome song.

  • Just want to address some comments here, but the song is not about Jesus, Neil Young, Layne Staley, or the 2011 Japan tsunami. According to Eddie, he wrote it about himself from a third person perspective.

  • This video makes a very American song seem very English!

  • @introspaced I don't see anything particularly American in the song... or any Pearl Jam songs for that matter. Apart from Porch and Ledbetter. Took me a while to work out what you call a Porch, we call an annex, and what we call a porch... you don't really have. Crazy world :)

  • This song reminds me of my brother..... :(

  • I agree. This song is the most underrated pearl jam song

  • Nice video. Thanks for contributing something instead of just posting a song playing over a single image. I feel incredibly inspired!

  • 80 pounds to make and 80( thousand ) reasons to see this and enjoy..nice job!!

  • this song is about the 2011 tsunami in Japan

  • @MrJimbob91389 despite the 15 year difference...

  • This song makes me think of my dog.

  • i tried this..sadly, i could not run fast or far enough....

  • Reminds me of my Dad

  • the song's about dennis rodman, you numbnuts. pay attention. 91.

  • Dude, I just loved your video. It pictures exactly what I've been feeling for the last 6 months.

  • Dude! your on your way! I love it. good job keep at it

  • Poor modern man... always being poked and prodded to run forward, never enough time for himself, no time to reflect or enjoy simplicity when you're a wage slave.

  • One of the greatest things about Pearl Jam and the lyrics that Eddie sings is that he likes for them to be open to interpretation. People like to mold songs and that's whats great: you can probably listen to this song and picture someone in your own life, or someone who has passed through it.

  • no code had a mad cover with cool photos. they did freak people out a bit though if they didnt know what they were.

  • This was an absolutely beautiful video. Thank you very much!

  • It is about Eddie being a friend, yes. The friend is Lane Staley and off he goes is referring to Lanes heroin addiction. They reunite and "the strain creep in" is Eddie realizing that he looks good now but he knows Lane is about to shoot up. Sad song but amazing

  • @TheHilldave64 i always thought it was about himself. how he was changing now because of the new fame. Seeing his c.d. now on the rack. At a 1/4 to TEN is when it all started. Just before the release of their 1st album. Not the person he used to be. but it comes and goes... i don't know

  • God. This song is SO good.

  • Seriously one of the greatest songs of all time!

  • this guy looks like Mclovin

  • Beautiful little piece of filming goes perfectly with a beautiful song

  • And great job with the video dude, i like!

  • I dont know but this song always makes me think of 2 friends who meet up after a long time

  • the effin' song ever!

  • i love pearl jam, vedder is an inspiraton , an each of them too...they all complete the circle made a perfect ...mmm... armony, a perfect...paint...thanks for been in my ears. for cross in my radio stations, for be PEARL JAM. to me the unique---->>>>

  • hola criss plata ,excelente el tema!!!!

  • huuuuuuuuuuu hooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuu

  • amazing fucking video ! heading for a ride next week. 1st song on my playlist..

  • This is a very great vid, really, but it has nothin common with "off he goes" [ex music]

This song is 'bout being a shit friend

  • @Kapiszczur No its not its about losing his best friend Johnny Ramone......

  • @C0r3d33zNutz thanks, I didn't know [we live in strange times and I have to add]....This is not sarcasm, I didn't know, really thanks.

  • @Kapiszczur Yea no problem, i did mean to be a dick bout it either with the all the dots. This album and The Pearl jam album are dedicated to Johnny and the song Come back is for him. Great song if you dont know if check it out.

  • why do I always sing this song to myself when I hear it? pearl jam (Vedder) is always good at taking you on a mysterious journey through random stories...good shit!

  • beautifull song..portugal alé

  • the best song ever,i have missed my son for a long time now & now have him back in my life.nothing can replace this.thankyou pealrl jam

  • This and Immortality are my favorite PJ songs.

  • the video never once is at the same pace as the song.

  • good job =)

  • You Nailed it!!!! Like others have said, I've always told people this was the one song I swore was written for me. Agree No Code was very underated....

  • Heey great song, great video, low budget...pure creativity man

  • one of jam's best song.A very well executed video my friend.

  • that song is a real big hit you where it hurts song. sent this to a guy i was seeing who went to america, and consequently never came home again. seems too appropriate now.

  • eddie vedder wrote this song about ME it seems :-)

  • eddie veddrr wrote this song about ME it seems :-)

  • This song is EXACTLY about the 22 people that disliked this video. Off they go with perfectly unkept hope!

  • @Me4678

    "unkept clothes"

  • @sidnum my fault

  • @Me4678 I think you may be misinterpreting the song - that line wasn't meant as an insult. But everyone's welcome to their own interpretation :).

  • @Me4678 the words are "perfectly unkempt clothes", but whatever

  • @nkvv88 Yeah I know that, I screwed that up, I apologize to you and everybody!

  • This song is just way too beautiful. I am only 16, yet I can relate to this song. Everyone changes. No matter how old you are, you constantly change and I think being able to feel those changes is really priceless. Fantastic job on the video man, I loved your interpretation, I had never thought about it until I saw this. Thank you for making these 5 and a half minutes the best of my day.

  • @rockaintpollution yo man im totally pickin up what yer puttin down

  • Fabulous job on the vid. I do not share your interpretation of this song, but I see it's value.

Being a huge 1) PJ fan 2) The Dark Tower fan, the very first time i heard this song I saw and heard in my minds eye and ear the opening sequence to The Dark Tower if it were to ever be made into film (and it is now). I see it as Jake Chambers (young boy) singing this song about Roland Deschains (main character). And now i want to put Ron Howard and Pearl Jam to work together, please help me! :D

  • This is am amazing video. Thank you :)

  • A constant warning and my theme song, if we're safely permitted such polite delusions.

  • Si vous estimez qu'il faut que ça change, mobilisez-vous et faites en sorte que l'humain retrouve sa vraie dimension ! Ce n'est pas compliqué ... remuez vos méninges et vous trouverez !

  • 80 bucks went on cocaine and hookers. No, actually on buying and developing the 16mm film stock.

  • @PigDogDesign Dont forget the microwave meal lol

  • where did the 80quid go?

  • where di the 80quid go?

  • Wonderful vid, great job

  • i think he's dead on.... and everyone ONE is entitled to their opinion

  • no code and this song are the most underrated from Pearl Jam

  • @MARSELIMADHE Agreed whole heartedly.

  • @MARSELIMADHE Billboard 200 number one, certified platinum = far from underrated.

  • @MARSELIMADHE

Agree. No Code is, IMO, Vedder's best writing.

  • this is a pretty good video. for not being official

  • Eddie Vedder wrote this song about his friend Layne Staley.

  • @mathewhom

the song is about Neil Young

  • @bocajr4life

The song is not about Neil Young, it's a song Vedder wrote about himself, about being a shitty friend. He says so himself in an interview.

  • Eddie Vedder wrote this song about his friend Layne Staley.

  • I like the interpretation, thanks! I've also thought it's about himself. But like with every Pearl Jam song, there's always more. In the movie in my mind it's also someone else.

  • you remind me of a young mike mccready :)

    excellent job, well done

  • @matatmat you mean Gossard

  • @mucocele gossard + mccready + eric clapton

    all young versions of course

  • AWESOME video, nice interpretation, masterful song

  • oh wow! this interpretation is just amazing... and hey..keep up the good work... i really loved the video... :)5 stars :)

  • perfect lyrics if your describing a dude who thinks he's the shit but actually aint...and thats apparantly what they're about

  • Congratulations for this great video that you have made for this fantastic song. I really like your point of view and interpretation of the song. I am studying video and your work give me some inspiration, thanks for sharing this music video. Continue the good work.

  • Was this shot in York?

  • hey man great job with the video, loved the camera work and angles. A lot of ambiguity, but the good kind. that unique pearl jam feeling that is very hard to describe, you actually pretty much nailed it by pairing it with this visual story.

  • This song is about whatever you want it to be... stop talking.. start listening... enough of you freaky fans... start living your own life

  • Great interpretation of the lyrics, kind of similar to what I think of them when I listen to this song. Best video on youtube about this song until now. Excelente trabajo compadre.

  • Amazing job with the video. Camera work is fantastic, especially the angle when you are shaving and you see your shadow on the wall also. Very ambiguous, tragic and joyous at different times, but that is to me the essence of Pearl Jam which you captured very well. There are many things in the video that I can relate to, but most of all it was nice to see Pearl Jam's unique mood and feeling put together with someone's visual story in this way.

  • La mia Vita, forse.......sicuramente la mia "Rabbia"

    Pearl Jam, Mitici.

    Vedder un Poeta

  • at least the weather was great for a friggin change!!!

  • one of the best tunes ever, and a very cool vid dude

  • music is like art, wine, life, everyone sees, feels, tastes, understands it under their owned point of view, and every point of view is valid, as your reality is not the one and only true reality.

just respect other people's opinion, as you want your opinion to be respected.

it's just my opinion with a fair result for either parties.

  • @somedayoneme brillant hope this is your own words

  • music is like art, wine, life, everyone sees it under their owned point of view, and every point of view is valid, as your reality is not the one and only true reality.

just respect other people's opinion, as you want your opinion to be respected.

  • this song is about vedder..... he said it ''it's about me being an asshole friend''

  • Fine!

  • Beautiful...I can so identify with the feelings involved with this song

  • LOVE the video... keep up the great work!

  • I Just watched it twice, Pearl Jam would be Proud, you are very insightful and talented, ..........keep up the good work my man, .......Keir pursue your Dreams!

  • Bliss

  • i love this song, it's so easy to relate to it.

    friendship, alienation, solitude

..but he's always moving much too fast...

  • @mamanmj was my favorite pj song when my friend died then a month later i saw them and they played it

  • when I need to cry listening to this song

sorry for my English but I'm Italian

  • yeah great song, thank you Pearl Jam From belgium !

  • OFF HE GOES !!!! THE BEST!!!!

  • This song hits me...

  • nunca fue 16mm weon mula!!

  • on of my fav

  • Not terrible. I just think it's a little amateur. The running could have been done with a little more creativity.(shadows , sihlouettes, close-ups) I dont know, I'm an amateur myself, but I can still see room for improvement.

  • the thing about bands back then is that the songs werent shallow compared to now, the meaning werent on the surface, it had various interpretations, and rarely did you have people selling their image. songs now need the singers character and image in order for their song to sell. and mostly after five seconds of the song u pretty much know what the whole thing is about and its just one single statement that isnt even worth learning in ur life most likely.

  • This video reminds me the song "Sleight of hand"....

  • @Laroskar ditto and the guy in the video has a slight mccready resemblance in his face

  • this is really good

  • excellent.

  • i like the song and everything.

  • nice try but sorry didn't like it, didn't feel a thing... too bland.. too cliché, off topic as well

  • dont you know this song is about jesus ...listen well ...you probally like run lola run and made the video sucks ...sorry men i dont like this video ..i like pearl jam

  • This song is definitely NOT about Jesus.I don't exactly know what it's about, but I like the creators idea. Eddie Vedder himself even says his songs are open to the listeners interpretation.. That's what is so beautiful about music. I personally as an ex-heroin user think it's about someone drifting in and out of sobriety. Taking too much on. On heroin you'll be there, but you're checked out. He's gone again. But like I said it's open to interpretation.

Great video Keir!!Where was it shot at?

  • did you ever catch the dragon ???????

  • @ryanlfc87

Ha... You never catch the dragon. In the words of Nikki Sixx, "At first it tastes so sweet, then you wake up next to a monster."

I truly wish I had never touched the stuff. It was the hardest thing I've ever done kicking it & I did two tours in Iraq. Not worth ever starting.

  • @puppynut5 two tours in iraq after you kicked it or before you started ???

  • @ryanlfc87

Before... i used kinda in response to my ptsd and depression from my friends getting killed over there. Not a good reason but still... I'm clean now.

  • @pepexx7 its about being friends with an asshole. Actually its written from the perspective of Eddie Vedders frriend. He is actually the one he is singing about.

  • Exellent

  • where did u shoot the video ?
