  • Awesome plane.

    My dad loved the B-29.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • This part was in the video game I played?

    Wut?

I thought World at War had PBY-Catilinas?

  • Is this the B-29 fuselage at the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson?

  • I just saw the only one that still flies last weekend! It took off, and took some people up for tours. That made a great video, which I have posted.

  • 13 Japs watched this video!

  • Is that Dayton OH?

  • That door they went through into the bomb bay didn't actually exist on the working B-29. The crew's only way to the rear of the plane was through that tunnel - which was very long as it stretched all the way across the bomb bay.

  • I just went tere a coupl of mounts ago. I amazing and is huge, has a b-1, b-2, b-29, b-17, thunderbird, and more!!!!!!!!!!

  • You're pretty much hopeless in this airplane if you're fat.

  • i saw tht in a video game lol

  • @therubbersoul1 what video game? just wonderin.

  • @gotrees4 Probably CoD WaW

  • this plane is a Legend !!

  • @HomemadeThing no doubt bout that. this is American power. Can of whoop ass on japan.

  • Does anyone know where this is?

  • not sure where this one is at but i know that the air and space museum in Dayton, Ohio has a b-29 you can go though

  • @HOMER1349 thanks!

  • that tunnel over the bomb bay looks fun (and small)

  • My Dad was a Radio Operator/Gunner on a B-29 in WW II. Flew out of Saipan.

  • ive been in that museum its huge!!!!! The kid could should shut up though

  • Is this in Washington DC, Air and Space museum?

  • static displays suck. these things were supposed to be flown

  • I work on the B-29 at Castle Air Museum, it's pretty small when your working inside of it for a long period of time, but compared to the B-25, it's a giant!

  • I got to go in Fifi, too. Ditto the size comment. You expect this huge plane. It isn't. It makes sense when you think of it. It was compact & efficient. They didn't let us go back to the rear gunnery stations. I got to fly in Colling's B17G. I'd love to fly in Fifi someday.

  • I had a chance to climb aboard an airworthy B-29 ("FIFI"); and I'll tell y'all what: as big as it is, it's a crampy ship to roam through; for the guys in the copit/bombardier compartment to bail out during a fallen ship, they would have to crawl back to the rear through that long tunnel to get to a better exit!...

Bailing out through a glass window from the nose could get you chopped up into a human hamburger!!!

  • airforce musuem in dayton ohio... love that place... i remember seeing the SR 71 black bird there... it was so small in person

  • What is that yellow and blue thing outside the exit? Looks like a giant marhsmellow peep that was left in the microwave too long...

  • @copyhut looks kind of like rosie odonnell. but it can't be. nothing incredibly stupid was said.

  • Haha i feel like im watching a part of the black cats level on COD5

  • They did have access through pressurized doors from the cabins to the bomb bays. Of course they aren't like the tour doors, but there are doors there.

  • If that was a real 29 its been modified horribly there isn't supposed to be an opening to the bomb bay it had a pressurized cabin!

  • If you look above the opening to the bomb-bay, you can see a tunnel with a sign above it stating that it's a 'Crew Tunnel'.

The opening to the bomb-bay is just there because it's a tour.

  • ROFL "Shut up ass"

  • that little boy said ''just like in the video game i play'' he means Il-2 1946 modded version?? :D

  • LOL

  • kids...

  • I live in Sweden! God bless the USA!! Remember Omaha beach in1944!

  • @ftucyk long live sweden :)

  • @ftucyk my grandpa and great uncle landed on Omaha beach and by gods grace survived and i took a trip to France this summer and saw Ohmaha beach i balled my eyes out to think what those men went through. God bless you too man.

  • Hey this is in dayton! i live near dayton

  • Its funny cuse I get to see the lancaster Bomber fly (1 of only 2 still flying) and i wish i could be inside it Just to see what it is like Here you get the chance,,, still look better flying though

  • ''this part was in the videogame i play'' omg

    nice video

  • B-29 was a air monster to Japanese and B-17 was air monster to Nazi.

Where is this location, I really want to visit if I have a chance to US.

  • I don't know if it will be flying in 2009 (think they are doing engine repairs) but if you wait to check the 2009 schedule, you might time your visit for B-29 "FiFi", the only flying B-29 left in the world.

    watch?v=4hXahtZkk9E

    I saw it and did a walk-thru in 2001.

  • Some B-29's are flightworthy but are not classed as such because they're on static display and don't fly.

  • That is good to know Metallica. Would be great if they could get a few more touring the country. It has been 8 years since "FiFi" toured near my town.

  • FIFI is currently not flying dueo lack of funding

  • Thanks, that's a shame. I am still hoping it makes it's way up the the Pacific NW someday soon.

  • Thank !

  • Cool post. Thanks.

  • How could they chop up that poor plane just for tourists? TOTAL IDIOTS. The plane should be kept in one piece and flown.

  • Shame she's cut up, but looks like a site to see.

  • daytone air force base museum
