  • be-au-ti-ful horsemanship (L)

  • intresting!

  • So, for those making negative comments about Aimee and her amazing relationship with her horse, where are your VIDEO responses, showing how you and your horse perform in front of thousands of people in strange venues, at liberty and bridleless, "with expression"? This mare is focused, committed to her human.

  • The mare is doing what she is asked. But, lots of ears back and very, very busy tail, head tossing. To me, not a happy camper!

  • This is soooo special! How great your communication!! I am a Parelli student and love the doors it has opened for so many great times with my horse besides just riding. Have a way to go to get to your level but we're enjoying the journey! Keep Horsen Around!!

  • nice! I have a mare "True"- yep, ears back especially during work on the ground with her. Horses do become submissive w/ the dominant horse- notice how the ears are more forward when Aimee mounts her, just like my mare True does- i don't think she is unhappy I think it's just horse lingo. Swishing tail, w/ ears back (pinned) would be more of an aggressive manner.

I just don't like the wands-don't use them.

  • What is this song?

  • me encanta !!! bonisimo ! felicidades

  • You and your mare were a joy to watch, Aimee. Thanks for being such an inspiration!

  • This mare s very unhappy. She does what the hander wants but she is not a partner. She is obedien but not happy. Ths is not mare behaviour but rather enslavement. SAD.Should be a connection between horse and human, insead it is something else. I would never want my horse to feel this way about me.

  • Um.. just in case you didn't notice... this horse is at LIBERTY. If she was unhappy, she could run away lol

  • I didn't say you weren't her leader. I said she was unhappy. Horses will follow, even to the death.........

  • What an odd comment to make... The mare seems "unhappy" to you? By her ears and body language, she seems quite engaged and happy with her trainer. She has an obvous"connection" to her trainer as she freely and frequently steps up for an affectionate and approving pat from her trainer. When a horse freely and willingly works with a human (without halter, bridle, saddle or spurs) -- THAT is the "connection".

  • no, it is obedience. A connection shows an engaged happy horse. this shows a horse doing what she's trained to (obedience). But not with expression. JMO

  • omg, thats the only word...

  • Hola me es muy grato ver la perfecta comunicacion de una mujer con un caballo es muy bonito saber que cada dia hay mas gente que ama a los caballos y se puede comunicar con ellos Felicidades

  • I've taken a clinic from Aimee. She is a joy to learn from and watch. I love to see what comes next in Parelli. I have journeyed to Level III and love the freedom my Arab gelding, Yahzi, and I both have. Aimee and her Arabian are magnificent. She provides the steps to arrive where they are!

  • Kudos to Aimee and her horse! Lovely Partnership!

  • I love this video! The horse isn't miserable, she's a mare!!! And for you mare owners, you know what I mean! :)

BTW, i luv my two mares, and love their personality quirks!

  • oh very great<3

  • I can assure you that Chesee loves Aimee as much as Aimee loves her...Aimee has been my instructor for 3+ years...she is incredibly natural and gifted, both with horses and humans....

  • Just beautiful! my favorite part is when she asks for the passage and there is a lil' miscomunication, so she asks for just a few strides when he gets it and then relaxes. Then trys again with a wonderful passage. Just beautiful horsemanship!!!

  • i cant see why people can watch that and think the horse is unhappy?? a horse that was unhappy would not be that responsive, why do people hate parelli so much? im not in love with the man but am i right in thinking that if everyone could achieve that with their horse, some people would not be happy and think their horse was not either?

  • This video has become quite a controvesy in my race horse Yahoo group. I am a licensed race trainer and Level 3 Parelli student. Anti-Parelli people are using this video as showing how aweful it is and called it torture. The video shouldn't be an ad for your services! He is miserable, anyone who knows horses can see that. This gives Parelli people a bad name. I'm trying to defend Parelli in a race horse world and its hard when they point to stuff like this as an example of how bad Parelli is.

  • I don't know much about Parelli, but my horses go liberty as well and many things are similar. Now I really wonder what is being called "torture" here ??? ...(many horses and people when performing the first time infront of a crowd are a little stressed,- "miserable" seems exaggerated in my opinion...I mean look at some horses that do racings...they are soaking wet before they even start and their eyes look as if they were on drugs...I'd call that "miserable"

  • While it's obvious her horse is not 100% in agreement with what he's being asked, it's not obvious why. Maybe he has a high play drive and gets grumpy/bored when he's being asked to do stuff he already knows, maybe he's a bit lazy and doesn't mind expressing his opinon about being asked to 'work' or it could be that he's an EXTREMELY dominant horsenality and the opinions he's expressing are mild compared to what they could be. We have no way of knowing for sure. No matter how you slice it...

  • ...he is totally in tune with her and doing what he's asked with very little pressure. If he was truely miserable, he would have run off as soon as the halter was off.

  • @sdsavvy Why do you think that? If she has used the join-up method the horse clearly knows from the start of their relationship that she gets chased away if she doesn't do as she tells him.... You can do alot to a horse even if he/she doesn't like it, the horse will adapt and accept...

  • Please ask one of those critics to post a UTube vidoe doing the same moves. I don't really think that PNH needs to be defended. Critics are every where; great horse(wo)men like Aimee are few.

  • All racehorses, of course, always have their ears up and look perfectly calm and cheerful, while they lather and leap about... It might be noted that quite a few of the farms putting yearlings into sales have found that Parelli training enhances those yearlings.

  • Can someone plz xplain why a Parelli horse is taught to move back when its tail is "pulled"(only term I can think of) Reason I ask:I have met 3 people who needed their horses tail to get out of trouble.1 person had to grab her horse's tail to get pulled out of water & onto the ice,2nd to get out of some bad mud & 3rd to get up a steep embankment(Please, I'm not asking for comments on how these situations happened, they just did)would a Parelli trained horse know to pull and go forward?

  • If the student has done their homework then yes, they should be able those things.

  • These horses are taught to give to pressure. That does not mean that the horse trained with Parrelli doesn't know how to do all the stuff other horses know. When she barely picked up his tail, he gave to pressure (not beating) because it comes in stages (Stage 1, stage 2, ect) and the horse already knows the 1st stage very well and responds.

  • The horse is not trained to back when the tail is pulled. The horse is taught to follow a feel. That feel starts with the intent. I can take my horse's tail and ask her to pull me up a hill or to back up. It is in the intent or the feel. It is not the pull that does it. Aimee is a master at this.

  • what is the music to this vid?

  • The horse is constantly swishing his tail and placing his ears in the neck. I see a horse who very submissively does everything that's asked of him but yet I don't see him having fun, anywhere.

The tasks are awesome, absolutely fantastic that you can have your horse do this but I am not impressed by the way it is performed.

  • Give her a break Pocalover...that horse was developed to level 4 way before any of the new horsonality stuff came in.

I know Aimee. I'm sure if she did it again she'd pay attention to different things and make it prettier. Lots of the instructors who've been in the programme ages have horses that looks a bit snotty, but the new ones they are bringing on are much more 'cheerful' as they strut their stuff because of the new developments in understanding of their horseonality training needs.

  • Great to hear that! I am still impressed by everything she is accomplishing. I am not commenting on her. It is just that everybody goes wow when the horse is clearly not happy.

  • The horse is playing like horses would with another horse. Ears back, tail swishing. That's play.

  • Aimee and liberty -- it just doesn't get much better than that! (Oh, yeah, and the other stuff was awesome, too! ;) :D ). Thanks for sharing!

  • WOW

  • That is awesome. I love watching Aimee with her horse. Such inspiration!!! Hope to see more video's like this- From a level 3 Parelli student
